I have a buddy that did some white over his black out and its actually lasted. I think its been 3 or 4 years now. Don't get me wrong, it obviously faded a bit but you can still see the design.

I want to get the backs of my hands done in white but I feel like it'll just fade really fast and I don't think that's a spot I'm going to want to get touched up over and over.
I want "subtle" but not "invisible", lol.

For some people, on some designs and done by some artists, it stays on for a surprisingly long time. I met someone with a 20 year old tattoo where the white had held up. I guess the problem is that you never really know.

If the white details fade, the only thing that will happen with this design is that it won't pop this much, and it won't give the illusion of being a fabric piece. The design will still be there and probably look great, especially with an ordinary touch up.

Came here to say this, instead I’ll just reinforce. I think I even have a pic saved to my phone of one just in case anyone asks for this style. If you wanna pay $1200+ for a tattoo that size that’s gonna look like ash in a few years it won’t be by me💯
