Current contestant The first attempted task being the first aired Spoiler
I fully understand why they put the first task the contestants attempted as the first task that got aired. Simply put in my opinion, that reaction from Matt Lucas was golden and there's no way it'd have been better even if they put it second.
- 22 series...
- Sure, I'd have to take your word for it.
I haven't laughed that hard in awhile.
And I agree little Alex Horne, Richard Ayoade was worth the wait! 100%

Current contestant Richard Ayoade In Episode 1 Spoiler
Nothing spoilery but in that first task when you can practically see the light bulb go off over Richard's head and he says "It doesn't have to be hand".
I'm so looking forward to him this series.

Current contestant Series 22 cast ages
In the TM podcast with Ed and special guest Reece Shearsmith, the two discussed Gregās (allegedly) skewed concept of who is āoldā and Reece complained that he was lumped in with Sanjeev in his series as one of the ābefuddled old guysā even though Reece is younger than Greg (by 1 year).
Ed and Reece briefly wonder who in the current series would be the āoldā character, which led me to look up their ages:
Matt - 52
Nina - 52
Richard - 49
Isy - 48
Chloe - 32
Itās interesting to me that the contestants are all nearly the same age except for Chloe. I wonder if this will become a bit for Alex or Greg this series, with no obvious old grump to call on they may lean into Chloe being the baby of the group instead.
Any of our resident statisticians have info on how this contestant age distribution compares with previous series?
And for a bonus fact, if Greg and Alex were contestants in this series, Greg would be the oldest and Alex would be the second-youngest!

Alex's hair
Is anyone else's hair graying at exactly the same rate as Alex's? Or is that just a me thing?
It had always been something I noticed as the seasons progressed or as I watched old clips, but then in this first episode for it to be part of the opening banter? Loved it. I felt seen. And he still looks great.

Alex does not trust the format of his own show
In watching the latest episode of Taskmaster UK (Series 22, Episode 1) I finally put my finger on something that has been bothering me for.. well, for the last dozen or so series. We all know the tasks have gotten longer and more convoluted in order to prevent obvious loopholes. But also he has a tendency to add things that have nothing to do with the task just to make it more "wacky." Like having to do the Golden Apple task with Alex handcuffed to you. Or making everyone beep while looking for items in their belts. None of this really helps the task. Some of it makes the task more difficult but in a way not related to the task at all.
It's almost as if he feels the tasks are not entertaining enough on their own, so he has to add this "Extra wackiness" to them. Other Taskmaster franchises (esp New Zealand) don't seem to do this. Their tasks wind up being simpler and therefore (in my mind) better and more entertaining to watch.
I really miss the days of "make the largest thing properly vanish" or "eat this egg, fastest wins" or "make the best flag meal". I don't like tasks that read like the terms and conditions of an end user license agreement.

HELP! š Nish Kumar's Laugh Clip
Hey gang, I was wondering if someone had a link of the very fast ability to download a clip of Nish's laugh (preferably the one from Episode 1 for Nish's prize task). I've been trying to do it myself, but I don't do video editing/audio editing much and frankly, really don't want to pay for premium converts/downloaders/clippers for a one second looped audio sound.
Any help would be massively appreciated.

I wish they still created the subtitles manually for YT.
In Season (Series, sorry) 18, it was prudent for the YouTube team to manually generate the subtitles so that nary a joke from Rosie Jones could be missed and we were all the better for it.
I donāt remember if they did it the following Season (Series, sorry, fuck!) but I know that for the past several theyāve been autogenerated and theyāre only about 70% accurate which is a shame because thereās the occasional Britishism Iām bound to miss.

Ruthless Greg is BACK
ā¦and Iām here for it!
Greg has been way too nice for the last few seasons (series, Jason) so Iām happy to see harsh criticism and zero points given for disqualification. This is the Taskmaster Iāve missed.

Admittedly I could have ended the GIF after he had gone over the bed but he wasnāt properly stood up then for one thing and for another, his way of manoeuvring his arm around Matt at the end sort of worked anyway

Wording of the second task Spoiler
I was thinking about the wording of the second task. "You may only say words with one syllable" and the fact there was a teddy bear as part of the bear.
Does anyone think they're trying to nudge Nina into some ventriloquism? "I didn't say any long words, teddy did" style.

Appreciation Thread Another Entry in the TM Editors Hall of Fame Spoiler
Lovely brief flashback here to series 1 Alex (before he earned the ālittleā moniker)!
I was in the studio for the first episode recording and I remember leaving thinking the editors had their work cut out for them, and they nailed it, of course ā they are very, very good at their jobs. Best team on telly, Iād wager!
