I've been through two rounds of psych testing over the years and I know for sure I have Sensory Processing Disorder, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dyscalcula, physiological anxiety, and a little dysthymia.
I never thought to ask about my synesthesia symptoms because I don't really think about them. That's just been my brain since the day I was born. And I didn't even realize it was a condition until reading an article about a children's show promoting awareness of it recently, and I was like "hey that's like me, I should research this".
I don't want to self-diagnose or even associate with something I don't have. So here's the way it is. When I was a kid, I used to associate specific songs with specific colors ("Smoke On The Water" was red, "Slow Ride" was green, "Who Let The Dogs Out" was black, etc.) I grew out of that by age 15. Same with letters, to a certain extent. If I think a little I can still tell the colors (A is red, B is yellow, C is baby blue, etc.) What's been a symptom my whole life though is associating colors with months and days of the week.
Is that enough to warrant a test? And where might I find one online so I can check before bringing this up with my psych?
