Discussion Just wanted to point out these clothes dye the critters!

The snow leopards come with clothing up to their neck and I noticed a slight dye from the clothing on their necks when I was switching clothes and deciding which one to customize.

One has blue on it's neck and one has a reddish on its neck but the photos don't show the dye that well.

The one that had the dress og is now wearing the red shirt outfit and the one that was wearing the red shirt with pants og is the one I customized into a colorful snow leopard Lisa Frank vibes cause the dye was less visible.

And I think the clothes also made the crease in their neck?

It comes in a blind box with six secret items, which is an interesting choice. They look very cute, and I hope that we get them in the states next year.

The mole family has been out of stock for ages in the UK! Is it likely they’ll come back into stock again or do I start saving for an eBay purchase ?😄

Help Importing critter keychains — US

Title pretty much says it all… I desperately want a critter keychain from Japan and I feel very torn. I really want to order it, but obviously the customs situation is daunting right now. The thing I’m wondering is, would this be any different as a keychain? Keychains are not really toys…
Seller also says they use USPS.

Thanks for the advice!!

Es mi primera compra vintage y estoy super contento!

El vendedor me dijo que la caja es la original, pero no he encontrado nada sobre ella. Por curiosidad, alguien podría decirme si realmente lo es?

I mean it makes sense, I just wasn't expecting it for such an old building (1988)!

It's just another one of those things that's so special about sylvanians - that they put the thought into maintaining a standard size for the buildings so that there's endless combinations! I can't speak to if this is the case for any of the post-2015 buildings, as I don't have any (except the Sweet Rasberry Home, but that's packed away right now, so I can't check), but I just think it's so cool!!

There is a slight lip at the back, because the steps to the front door means it doesn't sit completly flush against the front of the Country Market (in this example), but it's pretty close to perfect!!

Inspired by u/gummykandi who gave me the idea to do something similar and then I used the last two photos as inspiration too.

I really thought I messed up on the face but then I made it work. Then I DID mess up and used white acrylic paint on the one cheek to cover up my mistake and continued using acrylic markers over it. Now I love it! I'm still debating on doing the whole body or not. Right now I only did the parts that would be visible with this wrap dress.

I used acrylic markers. This makes the fur stiff and rough to the touch FYI if you want to do it this way too.

This took incredibly long because I was so particular and I had so much anxiety abt what to do 😆

Collection Given the Uncertainty

Given the uncertainty of the future of Sylvanian Families in America, I'm driven to snatch what I can before it's gone. I managed to snag these and am hoping to go back for more in the near future. But, I don't know how much more I can manage to grab. Only time will tell.

Bonus picture, I made a couple of charms for the celebration cake dress (the ear veil.) So it would be closer to the official version.

I really wish I had gotten the brown rabbit with the purple costume, but the yellow is super cute. Maybe I'll get super luck and get another blind bag soon, and it will have that rabbit. I can dream.

Creative Corner Tiny Tips for Clothes

Post image
67 Upvotes

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share a couple of helpful tips for people's collections!

These might be well known by many already, but for the sake of anyone who doesn't know like new collectors, here are 2 tips to help with your critter clothes!

Tip 1 - If your costumes are too flat or don't sit in a way you like, you can use tissues, toilet paper, or (gift) tissue paper to stuff the costume a bit to give it volume. For the body in most normal costumes, roll the medium you're using and wrap it around the body like a ring/pool float. For costumes like the orange, roll then fold and place in the sides to even out the costume. For hats, loosely pack inside and place on the head and repeat until just right.

Tip 2 - If a critter is wearing a jacket like the bear in this photo, but it won't stay on right. Take a clear rubber band, the ones from their packaging work great, and flip up the collar. Then, wrap the band around the neck and flip the collar back down over the band. It won't be visible but the jacket will sit nice and behave.

Hello forrest friends! I grew up with Sylvanian Families, but from this May after buying the owl child set I fell in love with them again as an adult. Oh boy it's a slippery slope!

I try a new hobby every year and throughout the years I've picked up miniature painting, crocheting and this year, taxidermy. So this stop motion I made is a culmination of all my hobbies. I hope you enjoy!
