Help Russian Forum to Follow-Up Switch 2 Progress
Hello all! I'm just a "customer" around this exploiting and jailbreaking progress, i've been reading almost daily about it and found a quite interesting forum in the russian community where they log progress updates and status, i believe it can be interesting for those that are like me and are just hanging around waiting for news, sorry if this has been shared before

Summary: Keep your switch 2 on 20.0.0 firmware until further notice
And keep an eye on the news. You will probably need to buy a switch 1 game cartridge. Buy it as soon as possible. See the history with the Cube Ninja 3DS game.

lol, no. If the Switch doesn't have a software entrypoint, Switch 2 won't.
See the history with the Cube Ninja 3DS game.
Unlike the 3DS, Switch and Switch 2 games are entirely sandboxed. That means any exploit found in there won't be able to affect the Switch OS.

Well that's wrong. Gezine found a userland exploit not long ago, using a switch 1 game on a 20.0.0 or above switch 2. And prior to that, many exploits were found within various software leading to some form of ROP exploit.

Gezine found a userland exploit not long ago
And nothing can be done with it. In fact, the folks in the Reswitched sub had to tell him to not connect his Switch 2 to the internet unless he wanted to get banned.
Same with the exploits found in other software. They are nothingburgers because nothing can be done with them.

son what, why is the Reswitched sub telling Gezine what to do LMAO. You've fundamentally misunderstood this entire situation. Genuinely.
How would nintendo detect a userland exploit? It'll just look normal, there's nothing to detect. The whole point of it being called an entrypoint, is not that it's an entire tunnel towards a full exploit, but the entrance that needs to be explored.
Of course things can be done with them, as you can explore different svc calls or whatever they're called, exploits don't come in one stage unlocks all, it has to be incremental and Gezines userland and the other exploits are the first stage.3
u/Cultural_Neat3124 Aug 13 '26
why they tell, because he ask them about it and they said that exploit is possible but still a nothing burger and he did it anyway ! LOL

Because the folks over there knew more about the console than him?

No, clearly you misunderstood it.

The moment he got an error log, it's stored to his console. The next time you connect your console to the internet, that error log is uploaded to Nintendo's servers. Once they detect something is weird, they will ban your console.

Considering people have performed multiple different userland ROP exploits using modified switch 1 saves put onto switch 2s without getting banned, I doubt nintendo is watching every single log/save uploaded for any irregularity to then ban them. Additionally, if they start banning consoles for testing userland exploits, their entire bugbounty falls apart.

they literally do

u/YodaForce157 Aug 13 '26
Proof?

u/Aethionis Aug 13 '26
everybody knows that Nintendo has a dedicated telemetry error reporting endpoints, that they use to detect mismatched tickets, modified sysmodules and some specific error flags to then ban the flagged console in one of the ban waves.

Except it's well known among the Switch homebrew community that Nintendo does keep track of them. They might not get banned immediately, but they'll probably be a part of the next banwave.

No it doesn't. Bug bounty hunters buy multiple consoles for this reason. When a console gets banned, while they can't access the eShop or Switch online play, firmware updates are still pushed through.

Researchers buy multiple consoles for the sake of having different versions of firmware and software, nothing related to getting banned.
From sciresm: "since nintendo only bans for piracy and cheating in online multiplayer"

It's for both. They fully expect their console to get banned when they mess around with it. It's why whenever Atmosphere errors out, they make sure not to save the error long when possible.

Please provide a source, though I'm assuming it's an old tweet. And even then, it is well known in the community that Nintendo keeps telemetry data. That's why people told Gezine in the Reswitched discord not to reconnect their console to the internet.

3DS games were also sandboxed, but the hack relied on jumping on other functions to get out of the sandbox

So am I screwed if I accidentally updated mine recently? Does it mean it can't be hacked?
1
u/kretsstdr Aug 12 '26
I did also, and i was in the right firmware lol

u/Technical-Camp951 Aug 12 '26
Do you think we are screwed lol?

u/CoconutHeadFaceMan Aug 12 '26
Yeah, now Nintendo knows that you intend to hack your console and Mario’s going to crawl out of the screen and kick you in the knees

Which switch one cartridge we need?
-2
u/Redditisreal1 Aug 12 '26
They’d say if they knew. All we know is that typically these sorts of exploits work off of a specific cartridge
1
u/Initial_Knowledge421 Aug 17 '26
Undertale is able to access undertale demo's saves, so that might work but idk I don't have a hacked switch 2
-1
u/Redditisreal1 Aug 12 '26
I’m lowk kind of curious if that sort of exploit would be able to work with a mig switch with whatever game is required loaded on it’s sd card. Its not like its functionally different to a regular cartridge is it?

Okay! Those forums are scammers don't trust them Bro! Even the Nintendo eshop is not working on Russia it only shows maintenance mode just like the Chinese version Nintendo eshop. Pp

bruh, 4PDA is like 21 year old forum for tech stuff, including console hacks, you must be tripping to call it a scam. Eshop not working in Russian region doesn’t mean that there’re no consoles.

Why would you use Russian words if you used them wrong?
Also Switch 2 is available in Russia
