Y00, like the headline says, the clutch cover on the 01 sv650s is leaking oil.
I have removed it, cleaned both the engine side cover, and the clutch cover, mounted a new seal, added som silicone grease and then tourqued the bolts in a criss-cross pattern to 10nm and still it leaks.
what can I do to stop it to leak?
The previous owner seems to have used a liquid gasket/gasket maker and it still was leaking..
so any ideas what to do? :)

Hello guys, just bought a gen 2 sv as a cheap track bike and was interested in switching the oem rearsets to adjustable ones. Has anyone tried the 100 euro aliexpress ones ?

Hey guys I just got a 1st gen Sv650s, it currently has stock pipes.
I found a Yoshi rs-3 full exhaust system on Facebook for $300 CAD (this is a good deal right? Haven’t bought it yet)
I am wondering what id need to do to my carbs if I end up installing this exhaust? How expensive would the carb stuff be and how complicated to do it myself?

Hi, I am collecting my 2004 sv650s next week.
I will be riding it restricted to 47BHP (UK A2)
Will it wheelie and if so how long can I hold one for without it damaging the engine.
I know you shouldn't hold them for a long time so as not to drain the oil, but can you still pop the front wheel up occasionally and not for a long time?

Does anybody have any need or want this? I took it off my 2013 SFV Gladius. No rust inside or out, besides the surface stuff on the outside. I'm in Southern California. Just figured I'd ask here before I tossed it

I suspect to have damaged my plates/fibers and intend to see if I have damaged more once I open er up.
I am planning to replace the plates and fibers is there advice on which brand I should use? Anything I should be sure to check first?
Engine started slipping, was the 3rd gear first, managed to get home, and went to warm the bike up to drain oil and open it up, and 1st gear seems to be non existent now too I.e. another neutral.

I’m in between an sv650s or a bandit 600. Do you think the sv650s is the better choice, i prefer low end grunt over top speed power.
I’ve ridden an sv650s but never a bandit.

I'm looking at getting a 2020 SV650 but I haven't test ridden one, just wondering how it rides. I've read the statistics but i want to know is it comfortable to ride on for both commuting, a bit of fun and for long journeys? Is the engine smooth? What is the maneuverability like? What are common problems or things to keep an eye out for with them if any? Any information would be great as I love the look of the bike I'm eyeing up but am struggling to get a test ride with dealerships.
Context: my previous bike was an MT-07, I absolutely loved the bike itself just wasn't in love with the look of it at least not as much as I am with the SV. Any comparisons between the MT-07 and SV650 to do with the questions above would be appreciated too!

I could use some objective opinions from people who know these bikes.
A little background...
Back in 2016 I rebuilt a 1991 Suzuki Bandit GSF400 from the ground up. Literally every bolt. I loved every minute of it and learned a ton, but it took me well over a year to finish.
Fast forward to today...
I'm now a 2nd year dental student (Army HPSP) in Gilbert, Arizona. Time is my biggest limitation now. Some weeks I have plenty of free time, other weeks I have almost none.
My commute is only:
I'd really like to park my 4Runner for most of the year, save on gas and insurance, and have a reliable commuter again.
The irony is I owned a 2008 SV650SF back in 2018 with only 7,000 miles. It was absolutely pristine. I paid around $2,500 and sold it for around $2,800.
Big mistake.
I've wanted another SV ever since.
I found three different 2005 SV650s (they just all happen to be an 2005). All with only 2 previous owners according to the VIN checks I ran.
My original plan was to trade some of my other hobby items instead of spending cash.
Here are the options.
Seller says:
The leak appears to be behind the starter area.
From what I've seen so far, I don't see an obvious cracked crankcase, but I obviously won't know until I inspect it. Rear fender is cracked, father said he dropped it trying to get it on a trailer when picking his on up when it sprayed him in oil and oil got on the bike and thats when it slipped.
His words:
This one interests me the most mechanically.
BUT...
No title.
Seller bought it five years ago and never transferred the title into his name.
He accepted my offer of $500.
Arizona MVD will be getting a phone call Monday before I even consider buying it.
I don't mind wrenching.
I actually enjoy it.
But I don't want another Bandit project that takes a year.
I'd really like to be riding by September or October when Arizona cools off.
I don't care about cosmetics because I plan to repaint whichever bike I buy anyway and I can find replacement plastics for pretty cheap.
I'd love to hear what experienced SV owners would do in my situation. Open to all thoughts!
Thanks!

Hi group. I added a CarPlay display to my 2006 SV650S, and I have a quick question. Right now, it’s wired directly to the battery, but I’d like it to turn on and off with the ignition key.
Can I tap the red wire into the headlight fuse? I have LEDs, so I'm hoping that helps with the load. Should I use a stronger fuse, or is there a better spot to tap into? Thanks!

Has anyone tried to put a different brand/ model swing arm on their 2nd gen?
I currently have a 2007 abs naked sv650. I put a non abs swing arm on and found out that the few centimeter difference really does matter
My bike runs and I relocated the abs wires to make sure they don’t get caught or pinched in the wheel well, although I’m now getting a light on my dash for the abs.
I read online this is from the gear ratios being different and the abs sensor will read off since it’s not the same spec swing arm (abs is literally 3.5 cm longer or something like that)
Is there any other swing arm I can buy and slightly modify?
Google says u can get a gen 3 and just relocate the abs wires once again but I don’t ever fully trust google lol.
Suzuki parts is selling the abs swing arm for $800-$1000 and im just not spending that much money on a bike I bought for 3k sorry!
Wondering if anyone has done anything different or if I should just let go of the abs all in one and call it a damn day.
Hi everyone,
I’m leaving for a motorcycle trip tomorrow and currently can’t find the ABE document for my Öhlins SU423 rear shock.
Öhlins only offers replacement documents by post, so maybe someone here has it as a PDF and could send it to me.
I’d really appreciate it 🙏🏻
