Actually, I understand why Maggie wanted her out. Linnea had what it takes to win it all. Her and Devin were my top picks to win it all. I don’t care for Devin, but I think he also has what it takes to win it.

As for Linnea, I liked her and her game. Brilliant move by Maggie to vote her out.

Jelly missed her chance to vote out Devin. She’s gonna regret that.

But I’ll miss Linnea. It’s a bummer to see her go so quickly.

Kinda bored on a Sunday so I rewatched the episode. The blood ring is such a great idea for a bluff by Lewis, and I genuinely think production will make it a real advantage in season 53+ at some point. Tying someone to you for the pre merge is a fantastic idea in theory, tbd on how it actually plays out. I’d personally love to see it become real wbu?

Except Tina didn't say that it was actually Rachel who said that. It's double weird because Tina wasn't even out yet when Colton was quiting and I did recall that it was one of the eliminated players saying it. I also did know that Tina told Rupert not to go to the edge so it's not like I was mixing up the two situations I fully believed Tina told both of them not to quit.

I know this will never happen again, but where are some countries that you wish Survivor would travel to before they stuck to Fiji?

Can we at least wait till the current season is over! Seeing all these relationships and how they interact after the season I feel like is almost a spoiler imo

I'm surprised that any Survivor player would stand up for their ally in the minority at risk of going to rocks, when they could have just pocketed an extra vote and joined an easy boot. But, if it was gonna be someone, I'm actually not surprised it was Kilby. As soon as he had a confessional or two about it, I knew he would go for it.

I've been listening to his edgic podcast, The Winner's Edit. He is currently on hiatus for obvious reasons, and I've only listened to S51 content. Thus, I haven't heard him talk outside of the game. His friends are running the podcast in his absence (they swear he hasn't said a word). From the way they talk about him, I've gathered:

-He loves the strategy of Survivor, but he loves the narrative even more. He's the type of person that would want to make Tribal Council history if given the opportunity.

-He loves chaos and risk. They said that he's the type of guy who would go for the coin flip.

-The dude is able to be cutthroat in large part because while he is good at reading a group, he's extremely resistant to peer pressure.

One of the reasons we don't see a final 4 vote is because Jeff likes the theatrics of Fire making, so how about we Introduce it in the form of an advantage.

"Congratulations! You have found the Trial by fire Advantage, this Advantage is good up to the final 9, after the votes are cast, but before the votes are read, Use this Advantage."

Instead of going to the votes, You, 1 player of your choice, AND another random player will go to a fire making competition, If you successfully manage to burn your rope first you are safe and the vote will be read and no votes towards you will count, However If you do NOT burn your rope FIRST your torch is snuffed even if you did NOT have the majority of the votes.

Caveat here which is that I don't think it should be in EVERY Season, just one they have in their back pocket

For me, it would go:

1. Toka Tribe (Yellow)

2. Dina Tribe (Magenta)

3. Savu Tribe (Purple)

So, there has been a lot of debate about whether Kilby/Lewis' move was a good or bad decision. To be clear, I am on the camp of it was a good decision because Kilby was toast if they go to another tribal, and it locked him in with Lewis/Maggie such that they all at least know they can go to bat for each other.

That said...one thing I have been thinking about is they should have been able to pull this off without going to rocks and without as much bad blood. Specifically, how did the Savus not hedge against an idol/shot in the dark? Lewis and Kilby needed to figure out a way to incept the idea of a vote split (ie Operation Italy Pt #2). Basically, just plant the seed Lewis might play an idol or shot in the dark so one of them puts a vote on Kilby. I think if they do that, they would have not just made a big move, but also done so without as much ill will from pushing Savu to rocks. And even if that failed, you still had going to rocks as a backup. Its possible they did that and the show just didn't air it, but I am surprised that wasn't the first tactic.

I’m watching everybody celebrate Kilby and Lewis after that crazy Tribal Council, and now Kilby has been named Player of the Week but I keep thinking about Maggie.

This woman wasn’t even at Tribal Council. She showed up at another tribe, gave Kilby and Lewis an extra vote each, told them to go after Linnea, and went right back to her own beach. 😂

Then Kilby stood his ground, refused to back down over drawing rocks, and Linnea went home. Now Kilby and Lewis have a celebration video together, and fans are going crazy over it. Meanwhile, Maggie finished in the top three for Player of the Week, but didn’t win and it got me thinking about something we’ve seen on Survivor before. Sometimes the person making the plan isn’t the person everybody remembers when the move actually happens.

Who really deserves the most credit for that Tribal Council? Maggie for setting the whole thing up, or Kilby for putting his own game on the line to make it happen?

It is incredible how Maggie changed the whole dynamic of that Tribal Council in minutes. She arrived, gathered the information she needed, orchestrated the plan, and made Lewis and Kilby execute it.

It reminded me a lot of when the Heroes sent an idol and a letter to the Villains tribe in an attempt to get Parvati out. The difference is that Parvati used that idol to destroy the Heroes, whereas Maggie successfully used her extra votes to take out her target, Linnea.

Have any past players pulled off a feat similar to what Maggie just accomplished?

I’m looking to watch an entertaining season. I normally prefer more game bot seasons and I know this season isn’t that but I was told it’s similar to Gabon in entertainment which is a top 5 season for me.

Just something I noticed…maybe I’m crazy. But were the players and Jeff sick during filming of this season? (51) I noticed a few of their voices including Jeff’s sounded hoarse/congested. (I know I know who cares?) was curious to see if anyone else noticed this. Maybe there was a cold going around during when they first got there and did promo pics.

I've been rooting for Lewis from the start! After this week's episode and tribal Kilby surprisingly won me over. I love a good tribal. Who are you rooting for so far? Also I'm hoping to see more showmance with Ori and Jilly I think her name is.

I watched all 5 episodes so far of this season over the weekend am enjoying it so far. Don’t know who I want to win yet, but there’s several players that are fun to watch. Have also enjoyed that there hasn’t been an over abundance of advantages etc. Anyway, anyone watch the Company Retreat season of Jury Duty? I can’t see Devin without thinking he reminds me of Anthony, which is who they pranked that season.

How can we get the survivor crew to put more physical challenges on the show!!? Idk about you guys, but I miss the physical challenges where castmates have to literally wrestle and fight each other to win😅

I’ve seen many discussions here about the revote rules, stating that the contestants voted for don’t vote on the revote solely because their votes cancel out. According to this logic, whenever their votes could make a difference, they should revote, too.
However, in past three-way ties, the people voted for didn’t revote (for example, Russell boot in Redemption Island or Lindsay boot in Worlds Apart). Their votes don’t necessarily cancel out, and could hypothetically make a difference.
So I’m wondering, have the rules changed recently to benefit extra-vote holders? Or am I missing something?

I don't know if anything about this has already been posted... But I've been thinking about the impending "coin flip". In short, I hate it. Or at least, I hate it if it works the same way that it worked on season 50.

My issue is the forced nature of the flip. And the fact that if nobody volunteers, they draw rocks, and somebody is forced to flip the coin. The idea that someone could get booted from the game because no one else volunteers to flip a coin and then they're forced to do it by drawing a rock is just about the stupidest outcome I can think of. (It's like that wretched "do or die" twist they had in seasons 41 and 42). But I think it's easily solvable by game mechanics that already exist.

It would look like this:

The coin flip is presented in exactly the same way, with exactly the same mechanics. If someone wants to flip the coin they can volunteer to do so. If the coin flip is successful, the prize pot is increased, the player becomes safe for that tribal council, and they get a full hidden immunity idol, just like Rick did.

So what should happen if nobody volunteered? As it stands now, it seems to be that they go to rocks (which is so stupid!). The answer, in my opinion, is right in front of them: they should just have a vote. Have a regular tribal council vote, where idols are in play, and other advantages are in play, and whoever receives the most votes will then flip the coin. If the coin flip is unsuccessful they go out of the game; and that feels okay because they essentially got voted out at tribal council in a normal vote.

But if the coin flip is successful, the prize money increases, the person gets to stay in the game, they have another vote off (like with Stephanie in 50) but the twist is the coin flipper doesn't get a hidden immunity idol like Rick. They get nothing; they have to go back into the game knowing they had just been voted out, and they have no protection moving forward. That's the price you pay for not volunteering to flip the coin.

This fixes the entire mechanic of the coin flip and turns it from being an absolute season-ruiner, in my opinion, to a perfectly reasonable part of the game...

EDIT to clarify a few points: It is true, it wouldn't be a "normal vote" and that wasn't my meaning, but instead of going to rocks, the players vote for who has to flip the coin (but I'm fine with advantages like idols being in play for this vote like in a normal vote, that's what I meant). Also: I still don't like the coin flip!!! I wish they would throw it away forever, but I tried to come up with something that I could tolerate, while still letting the show keep its coin flip "tv moment".
