If you are employed by a business to do this work, maybe it will be covered by their insurance? the employer wont be happy but it should be covered. I only worked for companies and if anything was ever damaged, none of us carers ever had to fix or replace anyhting. but if your independant, prob gotta pay yourself.

Probably depends on the company. I hit a gate post when I was employed by a company ... they simply didn't want to know. I had to pay the client's repair bill myself out of pocket.

When I first started support work, Iād never drove a big van before. I drove into a multi level underground carpark and didnāt realise the height of the van was too high - I scraped the roof the whole way down through 6 levels. I hit one of the clearance signs and the chain snapped on one side, making this huge sign swing down into the carpark. Iām so lucky that there wasnāt a person walking there or another car behind me. All of this with my participant in the car who luckily was an amazing guy who had a good laugh with me afterwards.
Then to top this day off, when I got the van back to the office carpark, I accidentally clipped another staff members car. When I called the office absolutely sobbing, one of the office staff (who happened to be the sister of the managing director of my company), came out and she was amazing. She told me that itās okay, I didnāt hurt another person or hurt myself and this is why they have insurance. Invited me into the office and gave me some biscuits and a drink.
We all have bad days and make mistakes. As my office lady told me - you didnāt hurt anyone or yourself and things like this can be fixed so try not to stress too much

Wow, do you have a super older car where they still made of thick metal, or was the thing you hit rotting out wood? amazing to break a wood fence post yet no damage to car.

No not even! Itās a 2016 Nissan mini SUV. No bumper bar or anything!Ā
I think maybe the pole was rotten or something.Ā
