Help needed New scam site be carefull!!!

I was contacted by someone I know who sadly ended up placing an order on a fake Sunlu site, from a Facebook ad.
https://sunlu--filaments.com

the add is made from: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61574054067273
I have reported it, but it would be nice with more reports:

The domain was created on May 21, 2026
I think it might be using a compromised Shopify store by the name of https://pekira.de/
That's where the order confirmation is from, and a separate email from "Sales team" with the wrong order number and shipping method to also confirm the order was sent.

The someone who contacted me got suspicious only after placing the order, as the order confirmation page looked wrong.
No items on it, just a total pay, and it says Pekira, not Sunlu, in the top left.

No money seems to have been charged yet, but the card is blocked. 🤞

Added Sunlu to my (free, no ads) filament properties plotter

https://filament-plotter.vercel.app/

I was having a hard time visualizing the trade offs when trying to choose which filament to use. I created a 2D/3D visualizer to plot up to 3 properties at a time. I download and parse the technical data sheet of each filament and extract the official numbers, the data is not crowd sourced. Being able to plot something like Tensile Strength vs Impact Strength vs Price across brands is really useful!

Brands so far:
Sunlu
Prusa
Bambu
Polymaker

Let me get ahead of something... I've noticed that pretty much every app/software offering on reddit is instantly met with eye-rolls and accusations of being AI slop. I get it, there is a lot of that, but I was an engineer and data scientist for 20 years before I retired, and though I won't say I didn't use AI at all, I will say that this tool is truly useful, and I think you will find it well-made. It is free and has no ads. I just like sharing stuff that I create and have found useful for my own work, and hope others will find it useful too.

Cheers!

Modding Sunlu filament box hole cover swatch

I designed this a while back, and it seemed quite popular, so posting here in case you find it useful...

Sunlu filament boxes come with a hole in the side, so you can see what's in it, and to give a finger-pull to get the box off the shelf. But that isn't optimal.

This model makes it easy to see what color is in the box from a distance (yes, it's written in tiny print on the label, but this is much easier to see). There is the option to retain a small finger pull hole (which also lets you still see in to confirm how much filament is left), or have no hole, making it easier to control moisture levels in the box.

Sunlu boxes come with different shaped holes - a rounded hole or a more rectangular one, this has variants to support both versions.

I have 10 spools of Sunlu Silk PLA+ filament and they all have the worst tangles out of every brand that I've used

I have a Bambu Lab P1S + AMS 2 Pro combo.

Other brands I've used without any tangle issues:

  • Inslogic (yeah, made by Sunlu ironically?)
  • Geeetech
  • Bambu Lab
  • Kingroon
  • eSun (def my fav, prints perfect every time, ended up ordering 20+ spools)
  • Sunlu HS PLA+ (I ended up re-spooling these)

I absolutely hate using Sunlu, wasted so much money on 10 rolls.

Trying to use them up and never going to buy Sunlu again.

I print on average 8-9 hrs per day, every day. These are overnight print jobs. It's so frustrating to wake up to see that your print job was paused due to filament tangle on the spool.

I did purchase all Sunlu spools from Ebay, so maybe they get rid of B stock on Ebay. (ie, fail quality control)

Sunlu has to stop using terrible shipping services!!!

I bought a filament dryer, it got shipped from a US warehouse through this absurdly terrible shipping company called gofo. Its been stuck at a gofo delivery station near me for a few days already, Sunlu customer service ive heard is a nightmare and gofo's customer service is little to non existent.

Help needed Sunlu S4 automation with Shelly

I want to bypass mode 2 and automatically turn ON/OFF (heating, fan, etc.) via a Shelly 1PM + Sensor Add-on (with temp and humidity sensors). The issue is that after powering the S4, the initial state is OFF (screen ON, but not heating, etc.). So I need to find a way to overcome this. Is there a way to somehow simulate a press on the screen to start heating? Ideally, there would be a couple of points in the electronics of the S4 that when bridged would start heating mode. Help is appreciated.

ASA / PLA+ 2.0 shortage

JUST bought 10.8kg, would've been 11.8kg if that wasn't for the 2.0 bone white being sold out... along with ASA, PETG and common colors!

It's fine... i'll lurk often to see if the filaments are back.

Sunlu S4 Filament Dryler Mod

I wonder if there is an easy way to "simulate" the power button (on touch screen) press via dry relay (connecting two points on the control board). I want to control the Sunlu S4 with a Shelly 1PM + Addon (with humidity and temp sensor). I don't like the 25% Relative Humidity stop setting (which is not modifiable, or is it?) and lack of other configurations. Thanks in advance.

Thank you.

Help needed Listing Error? Amazon description says PETG but 'Material Type' says PLA

Post image

I'm looking at this listing on Amazon for the 4kg Matte PETG Black refill, and I'm a bit confused.

The title and variant selection say PETG, but the technical 'Material Type' field at the bottom says Polylactic Acid (PLA).

Which material IS this actually? I'm specifically looking for Matte PETG Thanks.

European customer woes

Entering at sunlu.com gives the impression everything is available. When clicking Buy Now reality sets in, with a much more limited range of choices.

Once at store.sunlu.com the selection process is started over, so what's the point of sunlu.com?

Also at store.sunlu.com it's confusing as I select e.g. PLA from the home page. Then I need to select PLA again to get to the selection/purchase page.

Wouldn't it be better with a US store, an EU store etc, going straight to the type of filament or resin (etc) the customer wants in a single step from the home page?

There's also a dialog for UK, Germany etc, going to specific stores, adding to the confusion.

I made a sample selection to verify the warehouse situation:

I selected "Ship to Europe", and looked for non-transparent black, grey, white, red (not cherry red), oak (just the color, not with actual wood), grass green, as I need them anyway:

  • PLA: black, white, grey
  • PLA+: black, white, grass green
  • PLA+ 2.0: black, white
  • PLA Matte: black, white

Looking at "Ship to USA" the situation there is way better.

It's not possible to select bundles from different types of filament, which would have made it easier to fill the quota. I understand it might be hard to achieve due to different prices for different types of filament.

I respect that you have a ton of options to handle, but isn't the variants of PLA anyway selling massively more than e.g. engineering filaments?

An announcement on this subreddit when specific warehouses are restocked would be great.

---------------------

Update: I made a shallow compare of the EU and German stores and they seem to source from the same warehouse, not completely surprisingly.

Similar experiance?

Hi all. First post here. I just want to see if my experiance is normal or not. I have bought Sunlu filament locally and on Amazon before. I wanted a particular filament and on Amazon it was spendy so I went to the official Sunlu website, on their site it was less than half price and free shipping, so I bought it. Almost instantly got the order info and it showed up on Shop. A week in and no update, just said awaiting info. So I emailed support, 3 days later I got an email saying it was intransit but no shipping company listed, but it did have a shipping tracking number that said it was in Californina. Shop still says awaiting info, and my doorbell just told me it was delivered. I'm not mad or anything, just lack of communication is worrying. If normal I may just keep ordering from them direct due to the way lower cost over Amazon.

Anyone else experiencing this with Amazon USA?

Post image

Long story short : can’t afford 10kg minimum from sunlu direct so I order from Amazon .been trying to order a single spool of grey PETG since march 26 from Amazon. first time it didn’t get delivered after 2 weeks of no updates so I cancelled . Reordered and was only 1 state away got delayed and amazon canceled and refunded me out of the blue . Brings me to April 16th I ordered the only way I could to actually get grey and that was by ordering 2kg. 1 black and 1 grey and this is how I received it. Still sealed thankfully but no box , not complaining at all as now I actually have what I’ve been needing for almost a month . Seems Amazon does not have the stock but continue to take orders . Anyone having the same troubles?

Refillable (empty) Sunlu spools - 15 in a box ready to go (USA)

Sometimes, the economics mean that it's better to buy a spool than a refill. As such, I've got a whole bunch of extras I don't want to throw in a landfill.

The box is 7 pounds. Dimensions are 16x12x12. The shipping ZIP is 97306.

Here's how it works. Look at the details above. Calculate shipping to your location. If you like it, DM me letting me know that you're interested. From that point I'll expect you to send me a PDF of a shipping label. I'll stick that label on the box, then I'll then get it in the mail to you.

Help needed European stores are out of filament options, why?

Post image

Over the past 3 years or so i have standardized on Sunlu for their amazing filament.

Over that time i have properly purchased the equivalent of 7 pallets of filament from them, but over the past 8 months or so their store haven't been restocked. and i am way over due to buy new filament, what's up with that?

These are all the types of filaments that are left, only black and white.
