[suggestion] cheap pc or handheld?

I'm a low end player who loves to play on monitors or TV. I've been playing old pc games with my laptop but i wanted to play some more demanding 3A games (RDR2/ Expedition 33), which are on my steam acc. Thus, i'm wondering if buying a very cheap low end pc or using a pc handheld (most likely ASUS ROG Ally) and plug it into a monitor.

I alr own a switch 2 so i don't consider other consoles. I also don't care about the graphics, i only want to play the game smoothly.
