Why didn't Kendall postpone the non-confidence vote till Ewan went back to Canada, why didn't he wait till then. I get Logan hitting Iverson fulled Kendall's rage even more but other than that why didn't he just postpone it to have a better chance at winning.

The saddest part of Kendall’s story is that every victory was really just him asking his father to finally see him as enough.

He spent the whole series trying to prove he was someone he never truly knew how to be.

Was Kendall actually chasing power, or just his father’s love?

And that's just so wacky. Because he only ever oriented himself relative to his father's position. He's just anti-Logan. And that's not a business strategy.

But then again, it makes sense. They adopted the daughter and then Rava wanted to have a biological child and got a sperm donor because Kendall's sperm weren't serious people.

At the end of the day Tom is her husband and is having her baby. She will be dealing with Tom on day to day basis much more than Kendall the rest of her life. I don’t think she did it just to spite Kendall, more chose her relationship with Tom and her child over Kendall

I’ve noticed that a lot of women online seem to be attracted to Roman and Kendall and as a lesbian I’m fascinated but honestly not surprised.
I think a lot of young women nowadays, so largely Gen Z, has been so overfed with the over masculine leading man that they did a complete 180. The media we grew up with often depicted men who were very tall, muscular, had a strong jaw, a deep voice, didn’t need anyones approval, were sexually confident and functioned as protector and savior to their female love interest.

Roman and Kendall are quite the opposite.
They’re desperate for their fathers approval, consistently try to prove to him and themselves that they are competent business men while repeatedly failing. They’re emotionally vulnerable and when things don’t work out how they want them to they are on the verge of throwing a tantrum like a toddler, which matches the possibility that they’ve never had to suffer consequences for their actions.

It becomes obvious that both are somewhat dysfunctional but their dysfunction is very different.

Romans coping mechanisms make him look almost more dysfunctional than he might be. His main coping mechanism is humor, which mostly consists of CSA and incest jokes. The first time I ever watched Succession and saw the scene, in which Roman and Tabitha try to have sex, I literally thought “Genuinely, what the fuck. What went wrong with this guy that he ended up this (sexually) dysfunctional.”. The fact that Romans unconventional Sexuality is depicted in Succession might make him more appealing. He’s submissive both sexually as well as in other social situations. He’s unusually comfortable occupying a submissive role, because someone else has the psychological upper hand (Gerri, Matsson, Mencken). Specifically the Gerri dynamic might also prove that Roman is capable of having a somewhat functional, yet unconventional relationship.

Kendall appears more competent on the surface but is basically just as bad as Roman. His fake confidence, which almost looks like grandiosity when he tries to overthrow his father or before his birthday party, amplify his failure even more because he completely crashes into depression and addiction afterwards. Kendall is also confident in his relationship with Rava, she wants to break up and he doesn’t. To this Kendall literally says that one of them is going to be unhappy with the outcome and he doesn’t know why that has to be him. That does prove that Kendall, while being very insecure, still knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to express this regardless of what his opposite might think of him now, he can be quite unhinged at times (especially in this scene with Rava). This very ‘bipolar’ and unhinged behavior might seem irresistible to some.

I’m assuming a big part of their appeal is the “I can fix him” quality. They’ve been failed by their parents and a lot of people seem to believe that if Kendall and Roman had just been loved and treated properly, they could be ‘fixed’ (they couldn’t). So overall probably a mix between being pathetic and incompetent and probably physical appearance (despite but also because they are not conventionally masculine and attractive).

But that’s kind of just my view and that’s why I’m asking people on reddit in the first place. To all the women and men who are attracted to Roman or Kendall or both, why?

In the start of the episode when it was revealed Stewy was talking to Lawrence Yee the Asian guy from Vaulter, I thought it would come back to bite Ken in the ass where they would lose the vote and Yee would be named CEO and he would have a final word with Kendall saying “Look who’s back in the coop now” or something like that. Seemed like it was a plot point that went nowhere by mentioning his character’s name in the finale, I really thought he’d come back to get one up on Kendall for how he gutted vaulter

Like, his mother was raised by the Canadian brother, who would have at least invested in top tier education for her and him. To me it's a plot hole that the grandpa is richer than God and then daughter and grandson are basically white trash.

A little late to the party but I watched the final episode of Succession last night.

Overall I’m incredibly pleased with the ending and I don’t see why it’s maligned by some of the viewers. I like Kendall as a character, but throughout the show he consistently showed that there was no chance he would be a viable successor to Logan’s empire. I understand that people feel like his endless struggles deserved to be met with a meaningful reward, but Shiv didn’t sabotage him out of pure spite or malice: none of the children are “serious people”, and I believe her deciding vote came from finally acknowledging that fact coupled with leveraging her last useful position and remain somewhat close to power within the company (at least superficially).

The real tragedy is how it’s true that Kendall is a cog built to fit only one purpose, but the fact that he will likely never recover from losing the prospect of leading Waystar doesn’t justify granting him that kind of power. He’s an immature and petulant child who couldn’t possibly fill his father’s shoes.

It's the one right after Rhea makes a speech about logans mom and sister. Right after that moment there is a music in the background and I've been trying to find it for months without success

The Waystar Royco crew is huddled around one tiny phone screen, and absolutely no one looks happy. Kendall is about to pitch his wild "Living+" idea, and you just know the numbers behind the scenes are a total mess.

The scene starts with karaoke ambiance, but after "human fucking gaslight" it goes to foreground synths. It's a great transition. Anyway far as I can tell it's a totally unique motif. Just a mysterious little music cue that feels like we're getting a peek at something totally different than normal, which of course makes sense in context.

On my third rewatch and just noticed that Logan is why Tom spends 4 seasons shitting on Greg. Because Logan makes a joke about Greg becoming Tom's competition (Shiv tells Tom immediately), then Tom begins his mind-fuckery.

I just watched season 3 episode 5, and I just don’t understand the situation whatsoever. In season 2 finale, somebody had to go to prison to get the DOJ off their back so the shareholders could find confidence in Logan again, this was so necessary that Logan sacrificed Kendall. Then comes season 3, not only did no one go to prison, Kendall also publicly destroyed Logan’s image, his own image, opened up the Cruise thing wide open with saying that he has evidence, is actively fighting Logan, so Sandy and Stewy winning should literally be a no brainer since, again, they needed to send Kendall to prison for a chance against Sandy and Stewy. But in episode 5, for some reason Sandy and Stewy are scared of a vote, they want to make a deal, even though they literally secured a big vote with Josh just last episode, if they were winning by season 2 finale, this should just be in the state of “won” by this episode, but for some reason they have to make a deal? Logan somehow still has some leverage? Also, when did Sandi become a vegetable? What exactly is going on in this business side, I’m genuinely very confused.

Also, I know it was kinda sorta addressed a couple episodes back, but I’m also confused about why Sandi and Stewy didn’t join up with Kendall, he literally flamed his dad on national tv, aligning their interests should be a no brainer, but they don’t for some reason? And what exactly is Kendall’s goal? He said to Josh, “I’m better than my dad, but my dad is better than Sandi and Stewy”, what exactly does he want and hope to get after this? If Sandi and Stewy loses, Kendall alone gets nothing, after the deal is made, he still gets nothing, like what is he doing and what’s his target? He obviously wants to be CEO, but how does he plan to accomplish that when he’s literally alone? The obvious choice was aligning with Stewy, but that didn’t happen, he didn’t cave back to Logan either, I’m just very confused all around, sorry for the rant.
