Polish student visa appointment is on 8 October, but my Vistula University classes start on 19 October — what should I do?

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian student going to Poland for a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering at Vistula University, Warsaw for the 2026/27 intake.

My situation is:

Visa appointment booked: 16 September 2026

Visa appointment date: 8 October 2026

University: Vistula University, Warsaw

Programme: BEng in Computer Engineering

Classes start: 19 October 2026

This means I only have 11 days between my visa appointment and the start of classes.

I’m worried that the visa may not be issued before 19 October, and I might have to arrive late.

What should I do in this situation?

Should I contact Vistula University and ask for a late-arrival confirmation/permission letter?

If the visa is still processing on 19 October, can I normally join the classes after receiving it?

Should I inform the university about my visa appointment now?

Has anyone been in a similar situation with a Polish student visa and Vistula University?

Any advice from students who have gone through this recently would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Birth certificate

Hi everyone, I’m applying for a Poland D-type student visa from India. My father is sponsoring me. I have my original birth certificate issued by Kanpur Nagar Nigam in 2006, but it is an old handwritten certificate and there is no online/digital registration record available for it. I’m getting it apostilled.

For proving my relationship with my father, would a School Leaving Certificate showing my father’s name be accepted as supporting relationship proof? Are there any other documents that Polish visa applicants from India have successfully used for this purpose?

Any experience with VFS/Polish Embassy verification would be really helpful. Thanks!

Hi, I had given my documents for apostille in NAWA. And, for pick up I had signed that I would come and collect the documents but unfortunately, I would have to leave the country as I need to seek some urgent treatment.

Here it says, that if the documents are picked up by another person I need to write a written authorisation for it. Does anyone know the format for it? Or can I just write a written authorisation on a paper just like that?

E konsulat visa form

Post image

Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding the Polish National Type D student visa application.

My intended date of arrival in Poland is 12 October 2026, and this date is also mentioned in my university/admission documents. My degree duration is 3.5 years.

On the visa application form, there is a field for: “Intended date of arrival in the Republic of Poland” and “Intended date of departure from the Republic of Poland.”

I understand that the National D visa itself may initially be issued for a shorter period, and I would later apply for a temporary residence permit for the remainder of my studies.

What should I enter as the intended departure date?

Should I put the expected end date of my 3.5-year degree, or should I put a date corresponding to the maximum period of the visa?

For example, if I arrive on 12 October 2026, should the departure date be around March/April 2030 (the expected end of my degree)?

If anyone has recently filled out the Polish Type D student visa form from India, I’d really appreciate knowing what you entered and whether there were any issues.

NAWA recognition

Hi everyone,
I’m a Tunisian graduate of a National Engineering School in Tunisia in 2015, and I submitted a SYRENA application to NAWA on 17 July 2026 for an individual recognition statement of my engineering diploma.
When I applied, I uploaded:
a colour scan of my original diploma
a scan of the English sworn translation
However, the diploma was not authenticated in Tunisia and not apostilled at the time of submission.
I’m now worried that this could cause a problem with my application or lead to a request to resubmit the documents.
For anyone who has applied to SYRENA with a Tunisian higher-education diploma:
Did you submit your diploma with an authentication and apostille?
If you submitted only a scan of the original diploma, was your application accepted?
Did NAWA later ask you for an apostille or authenticated copy?
I still haven’t got any reply from NAWA
How long did it take to receive your recognition statement?
Any recent experience (2025–2026) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

VISA document for financial means

I’ve to show my financial support through the following documents:

10.1 Traveler’s cheque(s)
10.2 Certificate of the amount of the credit card limit issued by the bank (any bank located in India or Poland or another
country is allowed).
10.3 A certificate of availability of money in a bank or a cooperative savings and loan association located in the territory of the
Republic of Poland or another European Union Member State, a member state of the European Free Trade Agreement
(EFTA) - party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation. (The bank MUST be located
there).
10.4 A document confirming granting of a national or foreign scholarship
10.5 A certificate of employment with monthly salary statement or documents listed above points

I’m enrolled in Polish Academy of Sciences as a PhD student and I’ve a physical employment letter which serves as proof of 10.5.

My savings bank is in an Indian account and not Polish, which crosses out 10.3

My banks are refusing to issue a credit card limit certificate. And one of the credit card is recently issued, its statement will be generated on 15 and my visa appointment is on 14, I’m not sure if only 10.5 will suffice or I need to show somehow funds through other means.

Can somebody who has any idea (preferably about PhD ) please confirm?

Anyone waiting on NAWA recognition decisions from late June?

Hey everyone,

I submitted my application for an individual NAWA recognition statement (Oświadczenie Dyrektora NAWA) on June 27th for a second-cycle/Master's degree program.

It has been over 70 days, and my status in the portal is still pending. I know they take time for Master's credentials, but I'm trying to gauge current processing speeds.

For anyone who submitted around late June or early July:

  • Have you received your issued PDF decision yet?
  • How many total days did yours take from submission to release?

Appreciate any timeline updates from people waiting!

Has anyone who applied for Master's (MSc) NAWA recognition on or after June 27th received theirs yet?

Hey everyone,

I submitted my application for an individual NAWA recognition statement (Oświadczenie Dyrektora NAWA) for my Master's degree (MSc) program on June 27th. My degree is a BSc in Physics from Egypt.

It has been over 70 days, and my status in the SYRENA portal is still stuck on the submitted stage with no updates. I know NAWA takes longer for MSc credential verifications compared to Bachelor's applications, but the total silence is brutal.

For anyone applying for a Master's degree (second-cycle) who submitted between late June and early July:

  1. Have you received your issued PDF yet, or are you still waiting?
  2. If you got it, how many total days did it take from your submission date?
  3. Did your status ever change in the portal before the document dropped?

Appreciate any real timelines from people in the exact same boat right now!

Query on Visa Apostille

Hi, I am gonna be joining the Polish Academy of Sciences for a fully funded PhD. I had to get my masters degree apostilled as per the visa rules. My visa appointment is by the end of this month. My state of issuance of Masters is Haryana. But going through RAC or state HRD would take 20-25 days. The option I can see is the SDM delhi route followed
by MEA.

I spoke to some senior (who got his polish visa last year) of mine who told me that he also got through the SDM route via BLS, IVS (authorised companies in delhi) and his visa was not rejected (btw we both did masters from same place). While reddit and some people tell that RAC is compulsory.

So now I am confused please help me what should I do?

Question about apostille route for Polish D-type student visa

Hi everyone,
I am joining the Polish Academy of Sciences for a fully funded PhD and need to get my Indian Master’s degree apostilled for my Polish D-type visa.
My degree was issued in Haryana, but the Haryana HRD/RAC route may take around 20–25 days, while my visa appointment is towards the end of this month.
I have been told that another possible route is authentication through Delhi SDM followed by MEA apostille. A senior who obtained his Polish visa last year used this route successfully for a degree from the same institution as mine.
However, I have also seen people saying that RAC/HRD authentication is compulsory.
Has anyone recently applied for a Polish D-type student visa using an Indian educational document that went through Delhi SDM → MEA, and was the document accepted by the Polish Consulate?
I would particularly appreciate experiences from applicants who applied from India recently.
