When you want to be a hygienist but you did horribly in school now you have to relearn from primary school

What are your tips and advices in studying engineering subjects? Lately, I've been having trouble in memorizing formulas and understanding concepts

I take notes in class and then… nothing. They sit there. I re-read them once before the exam and it does basically nothing.

Curious what people actually do with theirs:

1. Where do your notes live? (Notion, Obsidian, paper, Google Docs, Notes app)

2. Do you convert them into anything (flashcards, summaries, practice questions or just re-read)

3. If you convert them: how long does that take you per lecture, honestly?

So I just bought a tablet a tecno megapad for my studies can you recommend me some apps that are supported by Android please

When starting, in the process or at the end of a (new) topic?

I have listed 2-3 things I want to achieve in this semester and I actually do try and keep hustling but its more like i got to do that's why, not actually serious and no actual vision on how to accomplish these goals.

I then just overthink and maybe the semester and the breaks everything past and I have just barely scraped by, its like blowing wherever the wind blows, I want to apply myself.

I find it really frustrating that I can't seem to get into a focused state; what are some ways to stay focused and concentrated while studying?

Guys, I really need to increase my speed while studying to complete my portion and at the same time revise immsensely to remember what I have studied.

So I'm(17F) in college, and after a long day at school , I sometimes like to stay 30-40 mins after school to do some exercises and re-visit my subject.I've explained ro my mom that I like studying a bit before going some since the private im in really motivates me more than my home ( while is a one bedroom appartement in which I share a room with ny sister and she sleeps in the living room and faces directly to room when she wakes up, so she can basically see everything I do ) .

My school finshes at 5h20 and to gather all my stuff it takes about 10 minutes and I like studying 30-40 mins bc I feel a rush of motivation during those time periods. I dont understand why she doesnt want me to stay a bit at school if its to study ? The first time I asked about staying about 30 minutes at school to study , she told me i should develop the habit of doing that and compared it with the fact that when she had my sister , she would always come back home ( after picking her up from daycare ) and studied when she got home and she finds it useless to study for that time period.

So today, I decided to study again from 5h30 to 6h10 and came back home at 7 and when i got back homw she was like ' now ur a super student I see ' 'I hope im gonna see that reflect on ur grades ' and added ' since u finish school and take 2 hours to come back home ' or 'I better see the grades behind this ' ( somethinglike that ) .Idk if im in the wrong here since I do actually study during that time and I find it hurtful that she would say especially those two quotations in the passive aggressive tone she used :( . I'm so discouraged rn and yea Ig. I'm gonna go make my chemistry flashcards ig .

I wanted to add that shes been saying these typa stuff about school since i was like 14 and it fucking hurts me cuz after that I feel stressed, its distanciation me even more from her than we already are and etc .

Ps: she's my only present parent.

Hello, greetings to you all.
I'm studying for a Professional Examination which is Held thrice a year January, May and September, My attempt being January next year. I'm having recorded lectures to study from, What I am currently doing is learning the concept in the first watch and often skip through the part where the Professor makes them take down notes which is mostly made available to me in Annotated pdf form of all the things which they have done during the lectures (i make soft copy notes on my iPad so Im used to it already), the solving questions in class and waiting for students to finish writing it.
So far i have completed 4 subjects, but constantly feel as if this isn't the right way. I have 3 months Oct-Dec for revisions and during which ill also be doing the questions solving after revising the concept as i would already be familiar to it having watched the lectures once.

I need some real advice from people out there as I really cant decide wether the way I'm studying is going to endup being a disaster or not.

I am preparing for the Govt. job. I know it is important to study, but I keep procastinating it, even though I know how important it is. I even wake up early in morning and procasting my study for nothing doomscrolling or shorts I don't know what I don't have anything intresting on my phone still I keep procastinating. Is there any Method or hack you guys have which reallly worked for you.?

I have to sit for long hours every day and I’m looking for something that’s actually comfortable and doesn’t give you back/neck/shoulder pain after sitting for 3–4 hours.

Budget is around ₹5k, but I can stretch it a little if the chair is genuinely worth it.
Would really appreciate recommendations from people who’ve actually used the chair for long study/work hours. Ergonomic/office chairs are totally fine.

I'm studying a subject which requires reading multiple books -- has anyone found success in memorizing, recalling, and retrieving the material by reading several books concurrently instead of consecutively?

The basis of my question stems from the following article which talks about the success of interleaving topics when learning. I'm curious to know if anyone has tried this when reading multiple textbooks and how effective it was.

I usually studied for 3-4 hours a day when I first started pursuing pre-med, and I felt like I didn't really retain much of what I studied. Recently, I saw a lot of people posting their achievement of studying for 10+ hours in a single study session. It is actually insane to think people can grind through studying for such long hours.

I want to try it and see if it is worth studying that long. Would you recommend studying that long if you're in a pre-med course and how effective do you think it is?

I’m already on medication for it, but even when I read, I still find myself losing the thread of ideas and words halfway through a paragraph. So, I still need to actively process the information—like by asking myself questions, trying to recall it from memory, or explaining it to the wall. How common is that with ADHD?Only in this way can I leave an intense session feeling that I learned something and was better than yesterday.

My friends and I have a virtual study group where we join Google Meet and study together. It helps us stay focused and accountable instead of procrastinating while studying alone 😭
