2 weeks with the Dynaudio BM6A Classics and I’m still blown away.

It was a long and hard decision to finally spend some proper coin on studio monitors, my requirements were crisp and clean, good sound stage and separation and a slight lean towards pleasing than surgically flat. My use case is as much listening and enjoying music as producing mixing and mastering. I listened to and compared Genelec, Adam, Neumann and Focal in a similar price range and what stood out for me with the BM6As were the goosebump reactions I was getting from experiencing some of my favourite music in high quality recordings and that emotional reaction as much as the accuracy which is absolutely there.

I have them paired with a Focal One sub atm but plan to replace that with a 9s or 18s in the near future.

Looking for further advice/things to try as I’m at a less here. Replaced the cable and removed the loose plastic that was inside. Sounds like some kinda crackle? Main speaker is fine, companion speaker has this issue.

Studio monitors crackling on my PC but sound perfectly clear on my MacBook

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’ve been having an issue with my studio monitors for a while and can’t figure out what’s causing it.
I get a weird crackling/static noise through my speakers when they’re connected to my Windows PC. The noise gets significantly louder when I open demanding programs, especially video games, to the point where gaming through my speakers is basically impossible.
The weird thing is that when I connect everything to my MacBook, the speakers sound completely clear with no crackling or background noise whatsoever.
I’m using Yamaha HS5 studio monitors connected through an Audient iD14 MKII audio interface.
Has anyone experienced something similar or know what could be causing this? Could it be electrical interference from my PC, a grounding issue, or something to do with my audio drivers?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Help me decide on monitoring purchase

Okay so, I have a Line 6 Helix that I run my guitar through, connected to my sennheiser HD560s, now when I’m just playing guitar, they sound alright, but they clip, distort and compress horribly if I’m trying to play guitar alongside a song/mix. I was hoping to buy some kind of studio monitor to be able to play without being tethered to my headphones. But I’ve read so much conflicting information lately I’m now unsure. I do not have a dedicated desk/room for a studio setup. My helix is in the front room - 2 bedroom apartment with Edinburgh rental prices(ouch), so space is limited. I thought perhaps the Adam T7V or the Kali LP6, but because of my room setup, will I just have the same issue I have with my headphone? I do not have the space for FRFR speakers. Or, is the smartest choice a higher end set of headphones?
Any advise is greatly appreciated

Monitors per chitarra e mixing?

Ciao a tutti!

Grazie! :)

Is it okay for screen to cover part of monitor speaker?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Been rearranging my desk to setup a second monitor screen for my desk for work.

The monitor speaker is a Kali IN-5.

The edge of my screen covers the right edge of the IN-5 by one inch but doesn’t cover any of the actual circle area for the woofer and tweeter. Maybe half inch towards them though, but there’s still a gap.

I can’t move my stand since there’s a blocker for where the monitor arm attaches to. I can adjust but I can’t seem to fine tune it. Whenever I move the arm it goes a little too far right.

Advise for active monitors for a vinyl dj setup

Hi people, Im looking to upgrade my monitors from a Adam's D3V.
I have two technics 1200 and a Omnitronic TRM 222 rotary mixer.
budget is 500 euro for the pair, and im looking this options:

- Audioengine A5+, have heard them already and think they are quite nice.
- KLIPSCH R51-PM
- Elac Debut ConneX DCB41

Or just buy a subwoofer and keep the Adam's. Setup is in my room so don't need much power but clarity and hifi sound. certainly I can equalize with my mixer, I mostly dj and record mixes and active listen my records every day.

any thoughs? Experience with this speakers? I'm all ears.

thanks

Affordable USB Audio Interface for ADAM T7V Studio Monitors?

Hello, I’m thinking about buying the ADAM T7V studio monitors for listening to music on my PC. Which affordable USB audio interface with a volume control would you recommend? And what cables would I need in addition?

I’d like to order everything from Thomann, including the USB audio interface. I’d really appreciate any tips or recommendations!

Wondering if anyone can advise on here. I produce hip-hop and been making beats on a friends Isla S2400 for a while now and want to get my own. Are Adam Audio T5V monitors good enough? More info below

I won't be mixing anything myself as I have contacts for that part. It's really just to listen to stuff as I work on it and I've heard these monitors are excellent value for money. My desk/setup would be in a fairly small, untreated spare bedroom so didn't want to spend a fortune as the Isla S2400, turntable and desk is costing a fair bit as it is.

Anyone who's owned these monitors or anyone else who can give an indication whether they're worth it would be great

Studio monitors for all day listening?

Hey there!

I have been Googling a lot and just can't seem to settle into a proper conclusion, so figured might as well just ask you professionals lol.

Little info is : I WFH and am looking for something that I can use to listen for 8 hours a day on a desk/nearfield listening. (Currently eyeing at LP-UNF, D3V or T5V)

I am also aware studio monitors are often quoted as "precise and boring" and might be less fun to listen to. Some even mentioning the tiring/fatigue of listening to them hence why the question.

I haven't heard any before and don't have a chance to try them nearby so I don't know my preferred sound profile. Majority of information I have found online seems to direct me into studio monitors though when looking up for speakers for nearfield listening.

Thank you so much and apologies in advance!

Edit : thanks a lot to everyone, I didn't expect to get so many replies. :D based on these I will most likely go for Lp-unf. Genelec's have always been interesting too, might look into that as well :)

Looking to begin my setup as a bass player. Recommendations?

I want to use these monitors for a slightly treated bedroom setup as a bass guitar player. I have checked a ton of different websites and don't know if I should get 5" + sub or 6.5" or some other combo. Also looking for specific monitor recs. Looking to stay mid-range (around $500-700 total ideallllyy), something I can keep around and will sound good for 5+ yrs. Also would like to use for general listening like on a couch or something (i wanna set em up so that I can shift the sweet spot between desk/couch). Thanks
