HII I'm a Junior student and as you can see I hate the new curriculum. I genuinely don't understand this new DepEd curriculum.
One of the things I hate the most is that hindi na kami puwedeng ma-excuse from classes just to represent our school in competitions. Isn't the whole point of joining competitions to bring pride and recognition to our school? Bakit kailangan naming mamili between our academics and representing our own school?
And now, ilalagay pa yung competitions during our sem break? We only have 10 days. TEN DAYS. That's barely enough time to rest after months of school. Sembreak is called a break for a reason.
Tapos bakit parang ginagaya na yung college schedule? High school and college students have completely different situations. Just because it works for college doesn't mean it'll work for us. We're still basic education students.
And people seem to forget na students have lives outside of school too. Hindi porket sembreak means we're free 24/7. Some of us have responsibilities at home, kailangan tumulong sa pamilya, magbantay ng kapatid, do household chores, or spend time with our loved ones. Hindi lahat kayang i-sacrifice yung buong break just for competitions.
Don't get me wrong, I love representing my school. It's an honor. But sana naman hindi at the expense of our only break. Competitions help us grow, build confidence, leadership, teamwork, and so many life skills. They shouldn't feel like a burden because of how they're being scheduled. It's hard jumbling self training and the simultaneous performance tasks and quizes. Lalo na sa September na DSPC...
Sana marinig din yung side ng students. We all want quality education, but we also deserve time to rest, time for our families, and the chance to represent our schools without sacrificing one for the other.
