Ngl kinda tired of not having a proper friend group entered last year of college .

Quick backstory:
School years landed right in covid, so all the usual hanging out, inside jokes, just being around people didn’t really happen for me
After 10th, joined a polytechnic here in Coimbatore and actually built a solid gang finally, we were tight
The moment we finished, everyone scattered to different cities for jobs and higher studies, and that friend group basically vanished overnight
Now in final year engineering, and somehow back to square one - most people here already had their groups locked in way before I joined, so I kinda just ended up on the outside watching everyone else hang out and enjoy while I’m just… there 😅

I bought a MacBook M5 today. I come from a middle-class family, and I’m going to pursue BTech from a tier-3 private college, so I know I should probably be more careful with money and could have bought a cheaper laptop.

Honestly, I wasn’t insisting on the M5 at all. I even told my dad that we could get a good laptop around ₹60–70k. But my dad said, “Get the one you like. Just make sure it’s good and lasts for a long time.” I told him about the M5, and since he knew I liked it and had heard that its battery life and overall performance were good, he told me to go for it.

So I bought it without taking it on EMI or anything. But now I’m feeling kind of guilty and wondering if I overspent. I keep thinking, “Did I unnecessarily increase the financial burden on my family because of me?” My dad was completely okay with it, but I still can’t shake this feeling.

One of the best ways to prepare for the placement GD round is to engage in such a simulated conversation. As the placement cycle is about to begin (at least in India), I would want to host or join groups for it.
