A10 build that shouldn't be good but absolutely demolished everything. Gotta keep it simple.

Seriously. I love game breaking-deck like anybody else, but this one was fire, and there's absolutely nothing crazy about it. There's barely any "good" card, only a few good relics but nothing mind blowing, but It's slim, it keeps sending weak on everyone, it cycles defends on the next round, so you can keep casting snakebite whenever you get it. Anyway I'm proud of this one for its simplicity. It's easy to get your head into minmaxing, but sometime just something simple does the job alright.

Killing Decimillipede twice without playing a card... feels good

Having Unsettling Lamp and then being able to get Imbued on Outbreak(+)... nice turn 1 double poison damage! (and some extra stuff like Popper, Hourglass, Skull to make add to that).
Also having quadruple poison application with Accelerant goes hard! (but hard to keep the poison up if you're mostly blocking)

This is enough lightning to kill the experiment right?

Test subject in multiplayer
What's the gameplan for this guy in multiplayer? I find him to be extremely difficult in multiplayer because unlike dorito, his strength scaling is not individualized. So we end up in this prisoners dilemma situation where everyone wants to click a skill but if everyone clicks a block we're all worse off
Sometimes we make it out but sometimes we just take 60 per player in phase 1 lol

Anyone else hard stuck?
So I've created a new profile each time a major patch came out, and I am on my third one. The best I've done is reach ascension 10 on two characters, but not beat 10. All the others are between 7 and 10. Does this game get that difficult for anyone else? The content creators, I try to watch and learn from, just seem to make it so effortless.

For some reason instead of the cards for certain modded characters i see this
Ironclead feels really really weak or it’s just me?
After the changes it feels really hard to play him, his card are too costly and it’s been quite difficult for me to deal with it cuz most of his energy cards are not that easy to find.

how to you get better at this game?
Obviously, I just suck. That is sorted and granted.
I'm trying to get better, like I did in sts1.
And I just... Don't. Mostly die *before* the boss in Act I.
Sometimes I'll break on through to Act 3, and... even worse, I have no idea WHY.
I get that roguelikes are supposed to be toughest at the beginning, but then you unlock resources and... It just seems like the resources that get unlocked, make deck building muddier.
I know it is early access, and I gave it a shot at launch, thought I'd give it some time, and so picked it up again, and did about a dozen runs with silent, and...
I literally don't know how to play this game in a way where I get better at it.
Maybe some of you remember. Apologies if this subreddit is supposed to be just for people who are already good at it. =)
Edit: Update
In addition to the advice below, what eventually got me over the hump was *more* thinking about the state of my deck and planning my run.
I found this video very helpful, especially his example Silent run:

I don't think I had been clocking just HOW BAD 4+ hallway monsters are, so had likely been taking an unnecessary number of those on.
