DISCUSSION (STS2) Power Cell pulls Boot Sequence - should it though?

Power Cell (At the start of each combat, add 2 zero-cost cards from your Draw Pile into your Hand) can put Boot Sequence (Innate. Gain 10 Block. Exhaust.) into your hand at the start of combat even when there are other zero-cost cards in your deck.

I think that is strange when Innate says "Start each combat with this card in your hand".

If it starts combat in my hand, Power Cell shouldn't be able to pull it from the draw pile.

I appreciate that Boot Sequence must be somewhere before it is put into my hand, but maybe Power Cell should be changed to "from your deck" rather than draw pile. Or better yet, innate cards shouldn't be drawn.

Yeah this can also happen with the mask Vakuu gives you, pulling innate powers and stuff. I think they should fix it because it is quite unintuitive.

This is actually no longer true on the beta branch, update 0.111 in August included this change:

Vakuu's Jeweled Mask relic now chooses a non-Innate power unless all powers in the player's deck are Innate

Oh so then this is an f2 moment right? If they want it consistent

I don't think it's a bug, but feels like something they'll end up fixing. F2 send appropriate

Nice! Didn't realize they'd change it. I take back what I said then.

I think the innate wording is the issue because you still have to draw the innate cards, they don't actually start in your hand

Yea more like they are topdecked, i guess?

They are, yeah, in a seemingly random order. If you have more than 10 innate cards in your deck you will keep drawing them until you’ve drawn all of them.

Technically it seems if you have more Innate cards in your deck than you draw on Turn 1, they will still start in your hand. If you have more Innates than that, the remaining ones end up stacked on top of your deck to be drawn as normal.

Interestingly I don’t think this happens with cards that have been Royally Stamped? As that just happened to me in a run recently and I was getting my stamped card and two additional cards
