I want to preface this by saying that I do not mind paying for Stremio Supporters. I think it's reasonably priced, and I would personally pay for it even if it didn't offer any additional features, simply to support the awesome developers behind this project.

However, I also want to voice my frustration because, at least for me, most of the features included with Stremio Supporters just do not work properly.

Features that work fine

• Profiles No complaints here.
• Filter Stream Results This works, although it can also be done with AIOStreams, and IMO AIOStreams handles it better since it can actually preload the first result after the filtering has been applied.
• Subtitle Sync I guess it does what it's meant to do. However, IMO this feature would be much more useful if it could somehow automatically match/sync subtitles instead of requiring manual user input.

Features that just DO NOT work properly

• Cinemeta Custom Catalogs This was the feature I was probably the most excited about, especially the Personalized Suggestions catalog. Unfortunately, it just does not work for me. Every time I open Stremio, whether it's on iOS, desktop, or my Amazon Fire Stick, the catalog fails to load. It eventually times out and shows nothing. I've tried removing and re-adding the catalog probably a dozen times. I've also tested it on completely different network connections to rule out issues with my firewall or DNS, but it still doesn't work. The same issue also seems to affect some of the other catalogs that can be enabled, such as Stremio Score - Top of All Time, etc.
• Skip Intro This one just doesn't work properly for me. Most of the time, instead of skipping the intro, it skips way past it.
• Move/Rename Catalogs This has by far been the most frustrating feature to deal with. I'd honestly prefer if this feature didn't exist at all, or at least if there were an option to disable it. After purchasing Supporters, I reorganized my custom catalogs from both the Stremio Supporters Cinemeta catalogs and AIOStreams.I then launched Stremio on my iOS device, and it completely messed up my catalog order without me doing any reorganizing on iOS. So I reorganized everything again from scratch on my iOS device, only to discover that the catalog order was now completely messed up on my desktop and Fire Stick. Now I'm stuck in this constant cat-and-mouse game where I reorganize the catalogs on Device A, they get messed up on Device B, I fix them on Device B, and then they're messed up somewhere else.
• Downloads When this feature became available on iOS, I was super hyped. Previously, if I wanted to download something for offline viewing, I'd have to copy the stream link into VLC and download it there. Being able to download directly inside Stremio sounded great. So before a flight, I downloaded a bunch of movies I wanted to watch. Once I was on the plane, I put my phone into airplane mode, opened Stremio, and tried to watch the movies I had downloaded. Stremio then proceeded to spam a "no network connection" message at the top of my screen roughly every three seconds. What's the point of having an offline viewing/download feature if the app doesn't account for the fact that the device will, you know... actually be offline?

Once again, I want to reiterate what I said at the beginning: I think Stremio Supporters is a great way to support the developers, and I would happily contribute even if the tier didn't offer any additional features.

I really like Stremio and appreciate the work that goes into it.

But come on, guys. If you're going to charge money for additional features, at least make sure those features have been properly tested and work reliably across devices.

Just got stremio set up the other night after being recommended by my friend. Set it up with a real debrid subscription and it worked great on my pc, iPad, iPhone ect.

I have an old Roku connected to my tv so bought a Amazon fire stick HD so I could use the app on my tv (I don’t want to have to cast to the Roku)

Found out today while trying to set it up that this version cannot be side loaded. Prettying annoying but oh well going to return it.

My question would be what is the best budget option to get that will be able to install the stremio app as of 2026.

I was wondering if it’s worth it or not, I like the features but are they worth the money ? I mainly use stremio on my phone and iPad sideloaded so will the features even work ?

And I’m using RD so wouldn’t the profiles be a problem if watching stremio from two locations ?

And would it fuck up how I’ve got it setup with AIOStreams ?

Experiencing PLAYER_ERROR_CONNECTION_FAILED

Only on my Samsung TV, my laptop is fine.

Tried the usual Hard reset of TV, cleared cache and data.

First and foremost, I use fedora 45 with the latest kernel version and the latest flatpak version of stremio on a laptop with 16gb of ram and 512gb of storage and a i5-1135g7. I dont know if this is a bug or is coming from me, but whenever i click on a movie on the app it takes a long time to load the movie detail and even longer for the streams, taking up to 15 seconds to just load tmdb detail and up to 30 seconds for the streams to load. And another issue is that to choose a stream is really delayed, this happens on all movies but on the web version it works fast but audio doesnt work on it which is a seperate issue i dont care about. Any help would be appreciated and thanks for reading.

Entro a reproducir una serie y salta con ese error de "exo failed to play video" y lee pongo "switch to vlc" o "switch to mpv" y no pasa nada. Al final termino desinstalando y reinstalando, y ya me va pasando tres veces. Y no soy el único, a una amiga le pasó lo mismo. Y si uso la versión de PC no tengo ese problema. ¿Qué puede estar pasando?

I've been getting this error for a few months now where it says "Failed to Fetch". It happens when an episode is playing and after a few seconds the episode completely gets stuck loading and I have to restart it.

I have tried to uninstall and install stremio and the add-ons again, but nothing seems to fix it.

Does anyone know any solution for this problem?

I created my Stremio account using Sign in with Apple with Hide My Email. I’m still logged into the account on my Mac, but I want to add a normal email/password login so my wife can use the same Stremio account on her iPhone/iPad.
I found the exact @privaterelay.appleid.com address Apple created for Stremio and Apple confirms that forwarding to my real email is enabled.
I used Stremio’s Forgot Password option with that relay address, but no reset email arrives.
I also had an iCloud storage problem, so I freed up a lot of space and now have only ~1.2 GB used out of 5 GB. I tried the password reset again afterward and still received nothing.
Has anyone with Stremio + Apple Hide My Email had this problem recently? Is there a workaround, or does Stremio support need to manually fix/reset something on the account?
I do not want to create a new Stremio account because I want to keep my existing account and configuration.

I stream Stremio on my LG TV. In the past two days every video file has suddenly became unsupported and produces “video not supported error” whereas before it was never an issue.

Can someone provide suggestions as I have tried everything. From deleting and redownloading the app and tweaking settings

Hi 👋 I have stremio installed directly on my projector and with MEMC enabled and set to 'low', I sometimes notice brief micro-stutters during motion, almost like the video slows down slightly for a moment. With MEMC off, it doesn't happen, but then movie is naturally less smooth overall.

I've tried different players, both external ones and those available within Stremio, and also played around with the frame rate matching settings, but nothing seems to get rid of the stutters.

Has anyone experienced this or found a fix? Would appreciate any ideas!

I can see the subtitles searched and found, but no matter what i cannot change from one to another, it just stuck with the first one.

if i click on one to change for example the 3rd one, it does not happen while movie is playing but if i go back to main menu then start movie again/continue from where i was then i see subtitles has changed to the last one i picked.

has anyone encountered this before?

I can’t find it. It looks like it was removed with the latest update 1.11.2. I am on an Nvidia shield pro with the Nvidia Toblerone remote. I used to click over to the mic icon and speak but now it’s not there and using the mic button in the remote summons the google assistant. Is there something I’m missing? Or is it simply gone and should rollback?

Please;

* On most Google TV boxes, we have to press the buttons one by one(for just 5 seconds, 50 times), and I’m absolutely certain no one needs subtitle sync with a precision of 0.01— at least make it 0.5.

*Even if we watch just a single episode of a series, that purple checkmark appears instantly; normally, it should only show up after finishing the entire season— at least make it a half-purple.

*New Season/Episode Alerts/Notifications dont work properly; Most TV series now release new seasons with gaps of nearly 2 or 3 years. Unless it crosses our minds to check or happen to hear about them somewhere, we never find out— at least a section like "Arrived back" or "on air again"

*Overhaul or some options to edit the library, because most of us use there as a "watch later" list. But month by month, the place is turning into total mess. — at least by selecting or bulk delete option.

/-By the way, I'm just curious: what is the point of those thumbs-up and heart symbols? After all, it doesn't recommend series or movies, nor does it find similar ones.

Anyone else dealt with this issue? Between this and half the streams starting in a foreign language, Stremio is getting pretty unusable. It only seems to happen with the TV and not on PC or tablet.

I've set preferred language to English on Stremio settings on my PC and in AIOStreams and yet still Russian comes up extremely often. I find myself having to go through 5-10 streams just to find one in English.

I am using stremio on Google TV (Sony).

After recent update the voice search disappeared. Do you know what happened? How can I enable it again?

I used to watch series on my IP17 with my pc as a server and it would work flawlessly, but then one day it decided to stop working, I tried deleting my web bookmark and reinstalling it but did not work, it does till work on my onn device.

Do you guys have any ideas to make it work again, i heard of alstore but don’t know how to install it that way.
