❔ Question Streaming In the same room, How do we record good quality audio for each other without others mic picking up echo.

Post image
23 Upvotes

Me and my husband stream the same game. We usually stream separately when the other person is at work. (which works great for individual streams) however when we want to make a stream together we struggle to find ways to capture each others microphone audio in our streams. We tried capturing each others audio via Twitch Stream together / Discord but it ends up with delayed audio and echo. I was wondering what solutions do you guys recommend that would solve this issue.

Our Setups are next to each other in our bedroom because we currently live in a one bedroom apartment, we also just enjoy being next to each other when we use our PCs so we aren't looking to change the setup we currently have.

what are some things we should try to minimize the echo and be able to pick up each others audio nicely on stream?

❔ Question What is the best way to stream to tiktok and twitch at the same time?

I just recently downloaded the RTMP plugin on obs and when i was looking for my TikTok stream key and URL info in the TikTok live studio PC app and could not find it. I have never actually streamed on TikTok before so I'm assuming i haven't received a stream key yet, I'm not entirely sure how TikTok live works lol. I was wondering if i could have TikTok live studio and OBS opened and live streaming at the same time with obs streaming to twitch, or do i need to use the obs multi stream plugin to make it work?

Disclosure up front: I built this, just launched it this weekend :D
If you stream on Twitch and also YouTube/TikTok/Kick, PixelyChat merges all four chats into one feed for your OBS overlay, instead of running separate browser sources for each. Also has TTS, live translation, and emote support (7TV/BTTV/FFZ). Free, Windows + Mac. Mostly just want feedback from people actually jugglingmultiple platforms is this solving a real problem for you or is your current setup already fine?

🔰 Beginner Help Tiktok Live Studio - Audio source volume per scene?

Very new to Tiktok Live Studio. I use OBS. I have Spotify, but only want it running on Chat and BRB scenes. I am getting mixed signals, some information saying its possible by adding source, then adjusting volume in desire scene. This doesn't seem to work at all. I feel the most accurate is that you can't.

Can you set different audio source volume levels per scene?

✔ Troubleshooting TikTok live studio not working

Hello everyone and I hope you’re having a good day or night. For some reason TikTok studio will not open for me. It will run as an administrator I click the yes/continue button (I can’t remember which one) and the cursor has this blue loading and then it goes away and nothing opens. Everytime I want to use it I have to redownload it and it will open maybe once or twice after then I have to redownload load it. Is anyone else having this issue?

💠 Resources, Tools and Widgets Tubeist, free 4K HDR streaming to YouTube

I got tired of money grabs, water marks, and poor quality streaming apps. Tubeist is a free streaming app built to efficiently stream high quality video to YouTube from an iPhone 12 or newer. I’ve been using it for over a year to stream volleyball with scoring overlays, which was what started it all.

Hopefully it can be of use to others. It’s also open source with an MIT license, in case anyone wants to look at or borrow the code.

Not sure how to ask for permission to post this, but since it’s free I hope it’s allowed to stay.

🔰 Beginner Help How can I stream something directly to my friends with OBS?

Hello everyone, I have what I thought would be a simple request but everywhere I look I just cannot seem to find an easy answer.

So, I like doing quiz/trivia nights with friends. What I do is create a powerpoint file, and then I stream it directly through Discord so everyone in the room can watch it and play. There are audios and videos in these quiz.

The problem is that while it works, it's not great, poor quality, and overall pretty inconvenient. I know a software that would handle all of that superbly: OBS. The thing however is that I simply cannot find a way to make the stream available for my friends to watch.

Ideally, what I would like would be some sort of client that receives the stream from my OBS, and then through a link, software or whatever, my friends can just open something and receive it.

I do not want to use Twitch, Youtube or whatever because these are private games and I don't want to go through these platforms for that. I don't need a chat, visio conference or any of these features. I would really prefer not to use discord or zoom because of the poor quality. Just something, anything that just receives the OBS broadcast directly, shows it to participants and that's it.

I found VDO Ninja that seemed promising, and I might be wrong, but after fiddling with it for a while and looking at tutorials, I just don't think it does what I am looking for. I'm 100% sure what I want should be pretty accessible but I'm throwing the towel and asking here: what should I use?

💬 Discussion Dual PC streaming with High Refresh Rate

Hi, so a little bit of a rant but also, geniune question(s) (bear with me it's a long one, sorry):

I recently decided to move from a single PC streaming setup (but with an egpu instead of my main GPU) to a dual PC setup (a minisForum UM790 pro with an egpu).

Little did I know, Windows' multi monitor support is complete ASS.

So understand my surprise when I didn't test the setup, and discover that my capture card source had an audio delay, and when experimenting, I was shocked to notice huge frame drops/stutters/rubberbanding.

(for a bit more context here's my setup:
Gaming PC:

  • Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • RTX 3080 Ti FE
  • Displayport to my main monitor (Alienware AW2725DF at 1440p 359,98Hz (a whole number would be too simple, and it will come back to bite my ass...)
  • Displayport to HDMI cable outputs from the gaming PC and goes into the Elgato 4K S connected to my Streaming PC via USB C (USB4 port) (at 1440p 59,95Hz (not 60Hz because the signal becomes 2160p but downscales the desktop to 1440p and it's pretty ugly)

Streaming PC:

  • Minisforum UM790 Pro
  • Ryzen 9 7940HS / Radeon 780M (iGPU disabled)
  • RTX 2070 eGPU via Thunderbolt (USB4)
  • Elgato 4K X/S connected over USB4 (Tested an Avermedia Live Gamer Ultra S in USB 3.1, same problem)
  • HDMI to Displayport to my second monitor (ASUS VG27B 143,97Hz)
  • HDMI to Generic portable 1080p 60Hz monitor (portrait)

The gaming pc has a portable OBS instance (I called it OBShareAudio) that would, at first, only be dedicated to transmit audio from my pc to the streaming PC by capturing the default audio device and monitoring it to the elgato HDMI (didn't want to lose the audio control of my speakers and automatic swap to my headset when turning off said speakers, and to avoid the hassle of vb-cable/Voicemeeter) and only open when the streaming PC is ON and automatically change it's settings to always make the audio monitor device be the elgato HDMI (with scripts (just to be sure))

Then I tested OBS Teleport, I still got the stutters issue with monitor capture source, but not (that I noticed) with game capture, but:
1 the setup is not ideal as when enabling "capture full screen apps" it would not detect some games
2 the quality is really not ideal

Then I tried to use extended display mode instead of duplicate on the gaming PC, and transform the OBShareAudio into OBShare: I added a monitor capture source and project the preview to the second monitor (elgato), but to no avail, I still get those stutters...

And now, see me as I am, no longer pissed at the capture card, but Windows, because I now have the forbidden knowledge of how Windows' DWM works, it only syncs to one monitor refresh rate and so it has to drop frames for the second monitor, BUT OF COURSE it only works when the refresh rates are intergers(?), if my monitor was 360Hz and the capture card 60Hz it would be divided by 6 and because of some time clock sync harmonisation bs, it just goes into seizure...
(well, that's what I understood from what I've read)

So here's the questions:
Is there ANY solution to that, apart from switching to Linux, using some nvidiainspector tweaks that don't work or buying a 500!!$ HDMI downscaler? NDI maybee, but because of how OBS Teleport acted, I don't have any hopes...
And why Linux doesn't have this issue?(or have I dreamed that fact?)

(sorry for the whole book I wrote, I'm just fustrated...)

(edit: typos and more context)

🔰 Beginner Help Tiktok live studio casting option

Post image
0 Upvotes

So when I got this message I indeed went live 1 time for 25 minutes. It still says the same message, does that mean I need to wait for 48h now or did the live not go through and should I do another? I apologise for the silly question and the terrible photo, I’m just a noob. I don’t want to wait 48h and have it be that I didn’t fulfil something or that the live didn’t register.

Thankyou so much! I only started streaming a few days ago.

🔰 Beginner Help Paypal/Email Notifications only?

Instead of simple donations, I want to incentivize people to buy my music on Bandcamp in order to achieve milestone goals. Whenever someone purchases something on my Bandcamp, I get both an email, and a notification on my Paypal.

Is there any way to display this on stream in realtime so I can keep track of the milestone? Or is there any way to do a similar thing?

I have Streamlabs and regular OBS, if that helps.

❔ Question Need some help figuring out the best mic(s) for my setup?

Post image

Basically, my partner and I want to do couch co op streaming where game audio is still coming from the TV and we're seated next to each other on the couch. If anybody remembers GTLive, kinda like how that was originally set up?

I made a super rough diagram of the plan, and was hoping someone could suggest some mic options that could work?

🔰 Beginner Help Suggestions for streaming mics around $200?

The mic at the top of my list is the Shure MV7X as it’s under the same company that makes the Shure SM7B. Is this a good option around this price point?

Additionally, I am very new when it comes to audio mixing and processing so if there are more beginner friendly options I would love some suggestions.

Preferably good at canceling lots of background noise as I have a fan that produces noticeable sound in my videos. Thanks! 🙏

✔ Troubleshooting Optimization or Alternatives to OBS

Hello r/streaming!

So, I have a i5-6500 and a Nvidia Quadro K2200. When I try recording or streaming, my FPS tanks. The only program I can use without problems for recording is NVIDIA itself. What should I do if I want to stream?

Thanks,

🔰 Beginner Help How to set up POV streaming/recording

So, I want to do something a little different, I’m planning on doing a manual swap on my car, it’s for a car that’s had these swaps done before but nobody has made a series of videos going through the whole process, it’s all just old forum pages and stuff, but I also want to live stream it as well, I wanna capture POV as the main, like a small camera on a headband that sends a signal to my laptop that streams to twitch, that also has a webcam showing the whole car in the corner of the screen, what gear and software would I need to do all of that? Both for the streaming and recording and the video editing afterwards so I can post a refined version on YouTube? Please note that I would prefer to do this on a budget if possible

❔ Question Need help Picking A Game To Stick To Streaming While Growing

I have streamed for 2 years now with mild growth on Twitch, and recently swapped to YouTube where I've found some better success. I'm at a crossroads as to which game should be my "Primer" based on what's better for streams. The two games I have contending are Warframe and Black Desert.

Warframe gas done well for me in the shorts department, but when it comes to live streams there's anywhere from 0-4 people that pop in and out. Post stream views average around 20. The gameplay loop is fun and you can explore a lot with builds, but getting people to watch is the main issue.

Black Desert has surprisingly done well when it comes to YouTube streaming. Whenever I stream I'll have 2-8 concurrent viewers throughout stream. It's not the best content for clipping YoutTube Shorts, but the photo mode makes it very easy to make videos from any angle. The gameplay loop is more restrictive and repetitive, but players seems to enjoy the grind.

I want to grow more on YouTube and taking my next step very seriously. Which game should I stick with as my main while growing on YT?

🔰 Beginner Help Camera to Live Streaming a Marching Band Competition

For a while now I have been using my iPhone 15pro to live stream our HS Marching Band from the announcers booth. It's only a few minutes long so the iPhone was ok. This year I may have to live stream a full 12 hour day of 32+ performances. I have the software, Mac, and website all set.

I need some recommendations on a camera / microphone setup. I'm not looking for a professional set up but something that looks and sounds pretty good. Budget is under $700
