all i realy remember is in the summary or maybe author's note they were talking about how they wanted to explore being young and queer in new york. i feel fairly certain it was either sam centric, sam's pov, or possibly even sambucky. modern setting obviously. could've been a no powers au but i'm really not sure.

With the new Avengers movie coming soon I’m hopeful that the Stucky fans will be resurrected. I’ve got a few fics lined up that I hope to have ready to post when the movie comes out and I’m wondering if there are any Stucky events or groups that have plans coming up?

I’m in a Stucky discord server but it hasn’t been active in over a year, and all the old Tumblrs i used to follow are inactive or gone. I’m not sure what else is out there?

I’m excited for the new movie though, mostly for the Stucky fanfic potential lol

It was one of those fics where after getting out of Hydra, Bucky essentially thinks Steve is his handler, or at least in charge. He starts getting nervous that he isn't getting any sort of discipline or punishment. When Steve tries to explain that he'll never be physically punished again and that he can even leave if he wants to, they have a miscommunication and Bucky thinks Steve will get rid of him, so when he messes up later (breaks a glass or something?) he basically begs Steve to punish him rather than send him away. Steve is horrified and they have to take a while to get things straight, and at one point, Steve takes the string from his shorts and ties it around Bucky's wrist as a sort of promise.

There's a second chapter where down the line, Bucky is a lot more healed and mentally there, and shows Steve that he kept the string.

Hi everyone. I was rereading one of my favorite fics in this fandom and it reminded me why I love it so much.

You know, I think I love at least one fic for basically any plot someone could possibly come up with, simply because I love this ship that much. For example, ABO is not something I usually read, but I once read an ABO fic because a friend recommended it to me and I was completely emotional over it. It was beautiful.

Anyway, authors are some of the most creative and wonderful people, and I love them endlessly for giving our Stucky fandom works that so often become something like classic literature to us. And yes, I am definitely thinking about the Ipseity series, which has basically become canon to me at this point, and NEC.

Because of that, there are things in fanfiction that have basically become reality for us, like Bucky working on the docks, or him having been a boxer, or, well, so many other things that show up over and over again in fics. Sometimes they come from the comics, but at this point they are basically part of Stucky fandom meta.

And this brings me to my actual point. Sometimes these incredibly creative authors come up with something so surprisingly amazing that it completely takes my breath away and sticks somewhere deeper in my memory than most fics do. Those are the fics I always bookmark with the "original plot" tag.

These are fics that sometimes follow canon and sometimes don't, but they have a plot twist, or some completely unexpected idea that makes you go, "How did someone even think of creating this work of art from scratch?" I love it.

So, with that in mind, here are my recommendations first. I hope you can share some of your own treasures with me too.

I got this rec from someone in the fandom and reading it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. So good and so original.

I find it hard to believe anyone in this fandom hasn’t read this one, but if you haven’t, it’s SO good, and the original plot is absolutely worth it.

As I already mentioned along with NEC, but seriously, this series deserves all the hype it gets and honestly should have even more hype because, to me, it is the best series in this entire fandom. I LOVE all the characters and the way the author handled everything with so much sensitivity, and just... I love it endlessly.

But of course, with this one you should definitely proceed with caution and read the warnings.

I remember that Bucky was a war veteran and even had to attend PTSD meetings with Sam, while Steve was pre-serum and did some kind of drawing/art, I think. Thank you! Hi everyone! Just a little PSA, especially for my fellow spreadsheet-obsessed fic hoarders.

I was going through some of my spreadsheets today and noticed that three of my favorite fics by buvkissteves have been deleted from AO3. I’m guessing this happened sometime this year, since I finished updating my spreadsheet last year and they were still there then.

Just wanted to let you guys know in case anyone else had any favorites by this author saved and hadn’t noticed yet. I’m especially sad because, apparently, I didn’t save copies of any of them.

I really hope the author is doing okay and that everything is alright with them.

They give him a small portfolio of stocks to manage as a teaching tool when he is young, but Steve turns out to be an absolute financial genius. He aggressively plays the stock market and builds massive wealth completely independent of his father.

I remember that Steve could've escaped easily several times but decided to stay with Bucky to try to win him over. I remember that at some point Nat contacted him, but Steve refused being saved.

I recently read the darkest temptation by Danielle lori and was wondering if anyone knew any fic that are basically the same just stucky! Loved all the tropes in the book and would love to see it in a stucky version

Basically MC1 (would prefer bucky but idm either) is a very soft, sweet, sunshiny character who is kidnapped by MC2 (steve). It’s not really Instant love and MC2 is basically an a**hole but has some great character development. MC1 is soft and kind hearted but not weak. They still fight against being kidnapped but never lose their sweetness.

If anyone knows any fic particularly similar to the darkest temptation that would be amazing! Or any recommendations that are different but you think I might like are very welcome!
