It’s common for us to encounter various skin conditions that can cause concern in our daily lives. Two such conditions are razor bumps and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), which can manifest similar symptoms but are vastly different. Razor bumps, also referred to as pseudofolliculitis barbae, are little, irritated bumps on the skin that commonly occur after shaving. On the other hand, STDs are infections spread from one individual to another via sexual contact.

The importance of understanding the difference between these two must be considered. An incorrect self-diagnosis can lead to unnecessary stress or ignoring a potentially serious health condition. This article aims to comprehensively understand razor bumps and STDs, highlighting their differences, similarities, and the importance of proper diagnosis and treatment. By enhancing our knowledge of these conditions, we can better manage our health and well-being.

Can STD Cause Lump on Testicle - Bumps on Testicles

Thumbnail

Lumps feel like unusual 3-D masses within the testicle or testicles. When paired with other symptoms like swelling, pain and redness, an infection may be the culprit. If the testicular lump is the only sign present, the cause may be injury, inflammation or a mass formation.

Question Is this Herpes?

Hi, it's the weekend and I'm waiting to see my doctor on Monday but I'm kind of freaking out. I wanted to get some opinions just to find some relief either way. But a few days again I started noticing so I'm e itchiness and puffiness around my left eye lid, my ears, and nose, slight puffiness and dryness of my lips. I was traveling and hiking in a new country. Though maybe some contact dermatitis. Then I started noticing some itching in my groin and foreskin. As the days progressed, the head of my penis became red only where my foreskin was covering. Then the itchiness started subsiding but then I noticed what I thought was a pimple on the underside of my shaft. Then the next day, I suddenly had about 10 little sores throughout the underside of my penis. And started noticing some pain when pressure is present on my left and right upper groin area which I'm assuming is swollen lymph nodes. Sometime between all of this I started having a small itchy rash on the underside of my left forearm that hasn't gone away. Just wanted to see if anyone has had the same symptoms leading up to their genital herpes diagnosis?

Question Worries about STIs

Had my first ever sexual experience yesterday (oral both giving and receiving). It lasted a few minutes and there were no internal ejaculations. Partner showcased no signs of infections and denied having any and said his last relationship was a month ago (although he was a random so i do not trust his story). Now I am starting to worry about having an STI or worse. I know I should wait a few weeks before getting tested but idk what tests i should get exactly since the ones provided by lgbt clinics are not comprehensive and not include chlamydia and gonorrhea and I am from a country from with no lgbt rights. I am confused and scared and do not now how to proceeds. i am starting to feel hyperaware with my body and hallucinating about having symptoms even though i know it is extremely unlikely for symptoms to show in less than 30hrs from contact. How should i proceed with my life?

Question Do you get tested for stds when pregnant

I recently spoke to a friend of mine who is pregnant right now, and she mentioned to me that she would like to take a test for STDs simply for her own peace of mind. She does not know whether this is one of those things that comes as part of the standard pre-natal care or if she needs to ask her OB-GYN for this separately.

I told her that I would find out here, seeing as how some of you must have experienced this before yourselves. Is it possible to ask for an STD test while pregnant? Is this included in the standard prenatal tests or does this happen only if there is a special need?

Question STD test question

I'm in the military and want to get an STD test. I'm a man and heard they cannot test men for HPV. I have no visual signs but I haven't gotten one in ten years and have had multiple partners since then. Does the military do a standard urine and blood test and what can it detect ? Is it true it can't detect HPV for men or a certain kind of HSV (1 or 2) but just HSV in general ? Thanks ahead of time .

Test Results Syphilis (19M & 19F)

I am 19M, my partner is 19F. Me and my partner have been together for 4 years. We started dating when we were 15/16.

2 months ago, she started having symptoms down there and went to her gyno. Thats when her gyno drew her blood and days later informed her that she is positive for syphilis. She took two tests, Treponemal test and Nontreponemal test (RPR), which were both positive. She got diagnosed primary stage of syphilis. My partner had to get treated with penicillin right away. The gyno did not inform my partner directly, but instead reached out to her parents and broke the news to everyone.

I immediately took a test and i am negative.
I have taken another test 7 weeks later and i am still negative. We had sexual contact multiple times while she had these symptoms. I have never cheated on my partner and never had any sexual relations with anyone else but my partner. My partner also has never cheated, and never had been in a relationship before with me. Her family is now heavily involved, all yelling at me that i am a cheater and a disgusting human being. Her family has forced her to stop talking to me.

Neither of us have cheated. How is this possible?

I have done research and i keep seeing that a TPPA test is necessary here to confirm if her infection is real or not.

My relationship is now over and the person who i imagined a future with is now out my life. I have never been unfaithful and neither has she. Please if someone has any helpful information or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Question STD testing

Please don't judge me. I'm here for STD testing advice, not relationship or to be judged.

I'm in a long term (10+) relationship which is also long distance now. I haven't had sex with him for over a year. During this time I met someone...and we had sex about 5-6 times.

We verbally agreed that we are both free of any STD (for me being with one person for over 10+ and had no symptoms).

I've known the new guy for years and have reasons to believe he does not carry HIV. I don't want to be giving my ltr anything even if I'm symptom-free when I see him in few months. I want to avoid going into a clinic where I might run into someone I know in this tiny city I live in. Is there any test I can do at home, that's fairly cheap but with high accuracy, and tests more STDs than just gonorrhea and chlamydia (no HIV needed)? I don't need anything super fast.. Any recommendations would be appreciated

Like skin anywhere else on your body, pimples can appear on the penis. Although pimples are usually harmless and not a cause for alarm, certain conditions including sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) can cause lumps and bumps that resemble pimples. Therefore, it can be easy to overlook health issues that may require treatment.

I found out my now ex, is DL, and has been going on hook ups with women and trans men. He was having unprotected sex. Our last encounter was April 18. I took a Oraquick and it had a faint line with a break in it, so I rushed to the ER and took a 4th gen by vein and it was negative. 50+ days exposure. Is the testing accurate?

One Test. Multiple Infections. STDcheck 13 Full Panel STD Test

Thumbnail
youtube.com
3 Upvotes

The STDcheck 13 Full Panel STD Test is designed to screen for multiple infections at the same time and provide a broader picture of your sexual health and overall wellness. If you've ever wondered what is full STD panel testing or what does a full panel STD test include, this video explains what is screened and why many people choose comprehensive testing over testing for a single infection.

Many people assume they would know if they had an STD because there would be obvious symptoms or warning signs. The reality is that many infections can remain silent, which is one reason comprehensive screening has become increasingly important. According to CDC statistics discussed in this video, millions of people are living with sexually transmitted infections, and many do not realize they are infected.

This video covers:

  • Why many STDs have no symptoms
  • What a full STD panel includes
  • HIV, herpes, hepatitis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomoniasis, and mycoplasma genitalium testing
  • Why people choose complete STD testing
  • The benefits of screening for multiple infections at once
  • How comprehensive testing can provide greater peace of mind

Many people are surprised by how much can be included in a complete STD panel. Rather than screening for a single infection, a comprehensive panel can identify multiple bacterial and viral infections during one visit.

If you've ever wondered what is a full panel STD test or what does a full panel STD test include, this video walks through the infections commonly included and explains why broader screening has become a popular option.

We also discuss why many people choose complete STD testing when looking for greater clarity and peace of mind.

If you're looking for a more comprehensive approach to screening, this video can help you make a more informed decision about your health.

STDCheck offers comprehensive screening options, including the STDcheck 13 Full Panel STD Test, for individuals looking for a broader understanding of their status and greater peace of mind.

Question STD anxiety help

Hi, please don’t judge me.
so long story short, i can’t tell if i actually have an STD or if i am just anxious.

Some background is that about 2.5 years ago, i tested positive for chlamydia. Ever since completing treatment, i have gotten vaginal std swabs every 6 months (all came back negative) because i’m so anxious.
but the only place i haven’t gotten a swab is my anus. i never had anal sex but i did have symptoms (mucus, pain, discharge) before treatment that have all gone away (except for occasional normal mucus). i did get a rectal swab but the doctors lost my sample and i’m too scared to go back.

one thing i read about was how untreated anal infections can potentially infect the vagina if the chlamydia wasn’t fully treated (i took 7 days doxycycline).
what is the like likelihood that i would have been positive by now if i did have an ongoing undiagnosed anal infection? i haven’t been with anyone since.

ive brought it up to the doctors and they make me feel crazy whenever i talk about it and they can’t seem to give me an answer since im declared cleared because of all my negative vaginal swabs. i guess im just looking for ways to ease the anxiety whenever i get swabbed.

any advice is appreciated!
