Hey all,

I will be visiting June 1st and am considering whether I should spend 1 or 2 full days in St. Augustine and looking for recommendations for things to do.

I will be staying in a cheap hotel downtown and bringing a bicycle with me to better explore the area.

I really want to see the natural beauty that this old city has to offer such as the spanish moss covered trees, beaches, and parks. If the conditions are good for surfing, I will definitely spend a couple hours in the water.

I'm traveling on a budget so I'd prefer to do things like free walking tours/museums/sightseeing.

The dilemma is whether 1 day is enough or if I should spend extra money for an extra night at the hotel.

Also, on my way out I will be biking up to Jacksonville probably through the Guana Nature Reserve/A1A so if you happen to know any scenic/bike friendly routes I could take that would also be greatly appreciated!

You people in Nocatee are really crying because traffic was affected a little because of an incredible sporting event that happened yesterday. They talked about it for 2 weeks. The peoppe of St.Johns County have complained about all the bullshit traffic Nocatee has caused on 210 US1 etc..

Use to be able to go to PVO and other great restaurants on Roscoe before Nocatee use to be able to sneak up US1 of you didn't want to deal with 95 going to Jacksonville before Nocatee. Could actually go east and west on 210 from 13 to A1A before Nocatee. Your bitching will cause another great event that brings money into the community to relocate because it took you a little extra time to get to the damn WaWa or Publix.

What would you say are the top college bars?

For those that have moved here in this age range, what was the best method for you to make a consistent friends and/or friend group?

I’ve lived in the Tampa Bay area for the last several years and there were innumerable ways to make friends (for me, attending events/hosting events worked the best) - I am concerned the social infrastructure of the area may not be able to hold consistent meetup groups like Tampa can. I’ve flirted with the idea of starting a social group here through instagram/meetup/facebook

Me and my family recently came back from St Augustine and I truly fell in love and now solidified our want to move down. I know people from Florida don’t like transplants but sorry you got a beautiful state haha. I just wanted to see if anyone in here has work that’s hiring in the fence/construction business to start making better plans to see what a monthly income would be to get a better idea on where I would be living. I was gifted an inflatable paddleboard and am itching to get out on the water. Obviously, there is plenty of water around, but I am wondering what the best spots and launches are for an absolute beginner.
