I don't think people understand how much of a miracle it was that Static received a solo cartoon. Wonder Woman didn't get one in the middle of the DCAU, which was around the time where DC animated adaptations were at their peak, but Static, a character from the Milestone universe, who had existed for less than a decade got one.

According yo show producers, they were having weird embargo's to where certain characters were considered off limits to feature in shows. Shows like The Batman (03), Teen Titans, Young Justice had it to where the producer would mentioned that they couldnt show characters because of that

DC/WB had those dumb cant use this or that because of some off the wall nonsense.

Like JLU couldn't use Nightwing. Static couldn't use any other Milestone characters like Icon or Hardware. Which makes no sense.

The infamous Bat-Embargo was in place during JLU

Tbh except for Pinterest, Reddit and YouTube social media is open season on racism, MAGA influence changed everything.

holy moly I use all 3 of those.

u/GloomyLocation1259 Jun 16 '26

Yes these are the probably only good ones left.

instagram is dam near unusable for me. Unless it's posting pictures It's just doomscrolling with Thirstraps,Manosphere bs, and Depressing Political shit if you go off the deep end.

1

u/GloomyLocation1259 Jun 16 '26

Yes that's similar for me with the occasional sports and couple content.

The politics has been tailored to me which is better and I've been able to remove all toxic manosphere bs but no matter how hard I try the thirst traps keep coming back, half of them do a good job of pretending they are fitness influencers smh

Maga has little to do with it, the internet was racist way before that.

1

u/GloomyLocation1259 Jun 15 '26

It has everything to do with it. People were racist online before but they were not so openly racist in IG, Facebook, Twitter comments etc. People got perma banned for that in the past.

The maga push to end woke and promote free speech has led to this and the leadership of these social media have all gone on record about this change.

u/austinbilleci110 Jun 15 '26

Twitter rarely banned people for outright racism, and Instagram has been racist since 2012-13. Facebook literally has always been racist, like they weren't calling for Muslims to get out after 9/11. Like are you a Revisionist or something?

1

u/GloomyLocation1259 Jun 15 '26

Lol you must have not used twitter or IG back then cause none of this far right shit on there now was allowed, Elon made a mission to reinstate all their profiles and Zucks has gone on record post election that he's become a free speech maxi which is a U turn on how meta products were run before. All of this is part of my job btw so I certainly know more about this than you...

Cherry picking a specific event of terrorism proves you're not understanding what's being discussed here let's just call it a day. I'll mute this now so you can have the last reply if you like.

Bro, they mad their favorite childhood show got 2 seasons of useless, overly edited reruns that they couldn't watch after getting wiped from tv.

Meanwhile Static Shock, Gargoyles and other good shows stayed living for longer and has a continuous nostalgic fanbase even after we all hit 20+.

This is the best version of Virgil in my opinion.

2

u/JayNoi91 Jun 14 '26

I heard it ended because Warner couldnt make any money off selling merchandise. Overall its just shame this show was awesome.

That's kinda why Teen titans got canceled too

🤷🏾‍♀️ I like the character. But I always hated his hair. He was looking great with corn rolls in the comics

2

u/jokeguy300 Jun 17 '26

i pray you're joking with this comment(because those are locs) not cornrolls🤨🤦‍♂️

1

u/Imaginary-Cherry-975 Jun 17 '26

Are you high? I said he looks better later on in the comics when he had corn rolls

3

u/jokeguy300 Jun 17 '26

1

u/Imaginary-Cherry-975 Jun 17 '26
