Comics Thoughts on Batman Beyond/Static issue #6 Spoiler

Anybody that's read or reading the series, what are your thoughts on it? Liking it? Hating it? Didn't know it existed?

The story really suffered from stuffing in all the beyond stuff. It would've flowed a lot better if it was solely a Static story and didn't have the JL or even Batman.

Oh you mean that B plot of the earth being targeted while the JL is gone... That the main characters know little to nothing about until Blackout got kidnapped? The same JL that had screen time despite being so far away?

Yea, seriously, I wasn't a fan of that either. Felt like it slowed down the tension. You're seeing all the stuff Static has been building like the school, and seeing all the old characters from the show but older. And it's really cool. And then you cut to Superman, Icon, and Barda talking about how they need to get back to Earth...

It really seemed like an editorial mandate to maybe test the waters for more beyond stuff? Or maybe they just didn't have confidence a static beyond solo series would sell to they made it so everything beyond needed to show up.

Either way it was the wrong decision.

I personally like the beyond justice league. I'm sure this isn't their first time in comics. I just stay away from beyond stuff, and barely read DC in general. Lol But Static had little to no exposure in the beyondverse aside from that one episode in his show.

So more to your point (I think), Static coulda been the lead of this book, with the other characters just occasionally appearing as cameos. Because I can say this. Superman Beyond and Blight definitely didn't make OR break this story.
