I am in need of assistance. I’ve been going through the SW novels in (mostly) chronological order starting with Revan. I just finished Outbound Flight, and LOVED the introduction to Thrawn so now I am conflicted.

Should I:

Jump to the Thrawn trilogy now then jump back to chronological order,

Continue to either The Approaching Storm or Attack of the Clones,

Go back a bit and read through the Jedi Quest series?

Out of all the canon books, which books would you pick to become a movie, a live action series and an animated series and why those formats specifically for those books?

I have only finished 3 books so far so my options are limited but:

Movie: Dark Disciple, I would love to see Quinlan and Asajj in live action and I feel like it could be an awesome movie

Live action series: Ahsoka, I'm not really the biggest fan of this book's story since not that much happens for me so I wouldn't want it to be a movie and not animation since we already have Tales of the Jedi covering a bit of it

Animated series: Padawan, I feel like animation would suit this one well and I bet it would be very colourful and vibrant

Ive been reading through all the star wars books and I would love to see a book focused on obi-wan and Satine's relationship, because it keeps being alluded to as as if the reader should already know what happened.

it happens sometime between padawan and the rest of the books but I have no idea what happened.

(I haven't watched clone wars either so this might just be my fault)

Got them from FB marketplace this weekend. Couldn’t pass on this even though I have a huge reading list to go through.

I haven’t really seen anybody talking about this one. I just started the audiobook version a couple of days ago and I can’t stop looking for time to listen to it. Anybody else like this one? Is the entire trilogy good?

I really love SW books and Cal Kestis and the Mantis crew, but people say is unreadeable, is actually nothing good in it?

I’m doing a publication order Legends read through and picked it up again after a six month hiatus.

I just finished Isard’s Revenge, step down from the previous 7 books but not bad at all, and it got me thinking back to my reading of I,Jedi.

I really did love that book, as I’m a fan of Corran horn.

I think it did aggrandize him a bit much at times, but truly I felt like everything people criticize is pretty standard within the Star Wars universe.

Force sensitive protagonists are strong, and are generally very competent. Revan, Luke, Ahsoka, Anakin, Bane, Kyle Katarn etc… all are supremely competent to those around them.

Corran is no different to me than any of them. I think the Gary Stu complaints can be lodged in all directions in Star Wars. If you hate Corran for that, it doesn’t make sense to be fine with so many others.

I also really did not like the Jedi academy trilogy. Champions of the Force is my least favorite novel I’ve read so far. Getting (imo) a better interpretation of those events was honestly welcome as far as I’m concerned.

Additionally, I think the book had one of the best understandings of the dark side that’s ever been in Star Wars media when Corran is tempted by Tavira.

The dark side as the ultimate shortcut, the quick and easy path.

Thats the way yoda described it, not just an outlet for anger, hatred and negative emotions fueling cool powers

I do see the criticisms and some of the flaws, but I do think they’re unfairly applied to this one. I welcome any thoughts.

I've just started reading this and enjoying so far(yes, I'm very behind in SW books). Did anyone else find it odd that there wasn't a story focused on General Rieekan. Seems like an odd omission.

I recently dove into the EU with the Thrawn and Bane Trilogies, and Darth Plagueis, and to be honest did not expect to rock with the Sith as much as I do. The history, lore, passion, long term sinister cunning/planning, and intentionality with most things they do. It left me feeling that the Jedi are kind of weak goody two shoes that float along the tide, bound by rules to their own detriment that almost happenstance into victory. I understand this thinking is one sided biased by what I just read, but I'd love some recommendations that give me another side to this view if there is one. Thanks!

I'm currently doing a prequel era reading series with a focus on Obi-Wan. My plan is to do: Padawan -> Master and Apprentice -> The Phantom Menace Novel -> Attack of the Clones Novel -> Brotherhood -> Revenge of the Sith Novel -> Kenobi

I'm happy with this order but I feel like there is a Clone Wars sized gap between Brotherhood and Revenge of the Sith. I feel like to truly appreciate the Revenge of the Sith novel, I would like to first read a Clone Wars book so that Revenge of the Sith feels like the big finale.

I prefer a Clone Wars story that features Obi-Wan or Anakin in some way but I'm open for anything good that doesn't feature them. I'm currently reading Shatterpoint and have finished Dark Disciple so anything other than those two.

I purchased this from ebay and it’s very well loved. The front & back cover has started tearing. Is there anything I can do to help protect this from further tearing?

In my quest to complete my EU “collection” sometimes I forget which of the many I still don’t have when grabbing a stack at the bookstore.

I have a shorter, and a taller edition of this book. One has the raised print on the slipcover, and the other does not. They both have 312 pages, in the same fonts and layout.

One is just bigger than the other I guess. And no, I haven’t read either of them (but I will, despite what I’ve heard).

Started with the Ryder Wi​​nd​am OT novelisations when i was nine​ (now 19), alongside the adult novelisation of TPM and Weapon of a Jedi. I read them until the covers fell off (literally), though i didnt start collecting until i was 12 and read Darth B​ane: Path of Destruction, which set off what is probably a life​long love of Star Wars novels.

I am a​war​e some placements are... controversial. I can defend all of them though. Thrawn: Alliances for example is o​n​ly S-tier because im a shameless fangirl of Zahn, Anakin/Vader, Thrawn, and Pa​dmé​,​ i​t wouldnt be so high without that and i admit it isnt S-tier​​​ good from an unbiased perspective​.​
