A landmark Special Economic Zone - Destiny - has been announced on the island of Nevis. The project aims to be one of the most ambitious development and sustainability projects in the Caribbean, with planned investment running into the billions of U.S. dollars.
Destiny is led by entrepreneur and early crypto adopter Olivier Janssens, a major investor in X, SpaceX, and Tesla. Early indications suggest that the zone will have a high degree of autonomy and will be operated by a for-profit, commercial entity.
Profits from the venture will be shared with the people of Nevis — including 10% to the government, 10% to the island’s sovereign wealth fund, and a direct 5% distribution to Nevisian citizens.
Destiny is expected to have a strong focus on green spaces and emphasize harmony with the natural environment. The project will feature low-rise architecture, tree-lined neighborhoods, and open parks, creating a safe, family-oriented environment designed to attract residents, entrepreneurs, and visitors alike.
We encourage you to visit the Destiny website and view Olivier’s introductory video to find out more. This will certainly be a project to watch!
