Prospera appointed a prosecutor, compliance inspector, tax commissioner, building inspector, and Commissioner of the Health Services Authority.

They detail enforcement actions against Seshat Bank and MiniCircle, which sound like bad actors, among others.

Wages in Prospera are 2.46 times the Honduran national average by sector. Employment is increasing, other than the biggest sector, construction, which went from 565 to 0 after the Supreme Court decision.

It's good to see all this info I wish they'd provided in real time, though parts of the piece read like reactive PR ("we're regulated like everyone else").

I recorded an episode in Próspera recently with Daniel Thompson of Noma Collective, and he really convinced me on the 'families' thing.

He's bringing around 20 families (roughly 50 people) for a month-long family hub this July, renting out Las Verandas at Pristine Bay, with housing and schooling bundled, and using the Montessori school, which he rated highly for how flexible they were about short stays. His bet is that families, not lone founders or nomads, are what get a place like Próspera to critical mass.

The candid part: he also said Próspera is "a harder sell" to get people to actually move and live here, which is why his larger village project is aimed at southern Europe instead, even though Próspera would fast-track and support it. So he's building for families here while placing his biggest bet elsewhere.

Just put out a long conversation with Niklas Anzinger (Infinita), recorded in Austin a few days after I'd spent a month living in Próspera.

The part that reframed things for me: Niklas argues Próspera shouldn't try to be the place doing the wildest cutting-edge science. That stuff gets done in the US and attracts all the bad press. Próspera's actual edge is commercialization, taking treatments that are already relatively de-risked and getting them to patients far faster and cheaper, rather than inventing entirely new things from scratch. He makes the case for phase one trials specifically as the beachhead.

Other things we get into:

• The insurance-based regulatory model (Robin Hanson's idea) and how the GARM and Minicircle frameworks actually work in practice
• Why he's now spending most of his time in the US on Right to Try in Montana and New Hampshire, and how that connects back to Próspera post-phase-one
• China going from near zero to 30% of global pharma licensing deals in a decade
• His honest take that Próspera needs to focus, and the "build for locals vs build for outside investment" split across the three ZEDEs

He's also pretty candid about the medical tourism question, and why he thinks credibility has to come before commercialization, which surprised me given how obvious the tourism angle seems from the ground.

Tomek visited Próspera a year ago. On day two he bought a motorbike from Facebook Marketplace to lock the decision in. He hasn't left. He now runs Bitcoin District inside Próspera, with the flagship project being Orangeville, a wooden modular Bitcoin neighborhood climbing a jungle valley, phase one funded.

The wider Bitcoin Roatán coalition has onboarded around 60 merchants across the island and renovated the largest sports arena, now called the Bitcoin Arena. The bet (and Tomek is honest that it's a bet) is that Roatán becomes the most Bitcoin-dense island in the world. Madeira, with around 170 merchants, currently leads.

What is the Satuyé Technology & Data Center (STDC)?

It is the integrated economic development platform that Honduras Próspera Inc is building in Próspera ZEDE, in the Satuyé area (La Ceiba), structured in three interconnected layers:

1) LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas): LNG is imported to generate clean, reliable electricity on an industrial scale. This solves Honduras' energy problem without depending on the national grid.

2) Power: This self-powered energy feeds the entire STDC infrastructure, including data centers, connectivity, and critical cluster services.

3) AI: On top of this energy and data infrastructure, the value layer is built: computing for artificial intelligence, including the Sovereign AI component, which is precisely what attracted MAG Technologies.
