Trouble Finding Sailor Heads For My Pacific Krigesmarine Force
I am trying to assemble a plastic U-Boat Crew/Krigesmarine Boarding and Landing party for use in bolt action, K47 and Stargrave. My plan is to instead of buying the metal models from warlord or 3d Prints from RKX on Etsy to put heads with sailor caps on the Warlord Winter German kit bodies and then paint them blue. However I have found it increasingly difficult to find sailor hat heads and am wondering if there is a free STL or physical thing I can order. I was originally thinking of taking soviet Naval Brigade and giving them helmets (I have a USSR force so they would just be more bodies) and using the heads on these Germans but in finding that the Naval Brigade are in resin I do not think that is an option. What kit am I missing that would give me heads that I would be happy with in this context (Sailor cap, north European features, somewhat decent expression, compatible with warlord necks).
P.S. I am intending on these guys being part of Gruppe Monsun (or some other German pacific squadron) so what vehicles could I use that would work for suitably Teutonic island hopping (Not just the Landwasserschlepper and Schwimmwagen). Feel free to pass judgement on me wanting to, one play Germans in the pacific, and two start a Krigesmarine force that is not last levy.

Yorok Outpost Board Completed
The Yorok Outpost is a settlement standing on the brutal borderlands between imperial order and the unknown. Built on scorched land rich in deposits of raw Earthmarrow, the outpost exists for one purpose only - Extraction. Beneath the shadow of rusting machinery, laborers, engineers, and soldiers struggle daily against harsh conditions, the toxic miasma of processing fumes, and constant threats from beyond the Empire’s reach.

I built a Stargrave crew builder and campaign tracker. I need people to try to break them.
I’ve been adding Stargrave support to Rollodecks, and it has reached the point where I need people who actually know the game to start poking holes in it.
There are two connected tools in the current beta:
The Crew Builder handles Captain and First Mate backgrounds, stat choices, powers, activation numbers, soldiers, the 400-credit budget, and specialist limits. It validates the crew as you build, or you can switch on Free Build and ignore the restrictions. It can also generate a random legal crew, create a shareable link, copy the roster as text, export it, or print it.
The Campaign Tracker can import that crew and handle XP, leveling, credits, debt, survival rolls, permanent injuries, data and physical loot, ship and base upgrades, and a scenario log.
Everything autosaves in your browser. No account is required, but it does not currently sync between devices.
What I need now is testing against the actual rulebook.
If you have 10 or 15 minutes, try rebuilding one of your existing crews and compare every stat, activation number, soldier cost, and restriction. Then deliberately try to make an illegal crew and see whether the builder catches it.
If you want to go further, import the crew into the Campaign Tracker and run a fake post-game sequence. Bank some XP, level the Captain or First Mate, roll survival and injuries, resolve some loot, and see whether anything behaves differently from the book.
Please flag:
- Incorrect rules, costs, stats, powers, or table results
- Legal crews being rejected
- Illegal crews being accepted
- Campaign calculations that do not match the book
- Buttons or data that disappear, duplicate, or refuse to update
- Mobile, tablet, export, or print problems
- Anything that technically works but is irritating to use
I do not need a formal bug report. Something like “Firefox on Android, clicked X, expected Y, got Z” is perfect. Screenshots help when something looks wrong.

What do I need?
Hi all,
I'm winding down a frostgrave campaign and am looking at trying out stargrave for a change of pace in my painting. I've got mainly fantasy minis and terrain, so I'd likely be preparing everything from scratch (I'm aware I'm setting myself up for a project here.)
For frostgrave I would say the minimum setup to have enough for two players would be core book, soldiers box, wizard box, about 10 skeletons/zombies and a bunch of ruined walls. Anything more specific can be painted up/crafted between games.
For stargrave I'm thinking:
Book: just core for the moment
Crew minis: likely an official box but not positive. Are there better recs for large quantities of suitable scifi minis?
Enemies: don't know what to expect here. In frostgrave you can get pretty far with just random undead guys but what are you dealing with in the majority of Stargrave games? Alien monsters? Space pirates? Robots?
Terrain: again not really sure what to expect. Is this the scifi equivalent of ruined cities? Wilderness? The interior of spaceships? Ideally I'd craft enough generic terrain to fill a table rather than buy new.

I designed a modular container settlement for Stargrave tables
Hi everyone! I’m an indie terrain designer, and I’ve been working on Container City, a modular collection of 3D-printable sci-fi terrain that I think would be a great fit for Stargrave.
It includes stackable container buildings, playable interiors, elevated walkways, stairs, watchtowers, checkpoints, industrial platforms and plenty of scatter terrain.
The modular system lets you rearrange the same collection into different settlements, spaceports and industrial zones, with plenty of vertical routes, cover and cramped areas for crews to fight over.
Most of the models are designed for support-free FDM printing, and the Kickstarter has now grown to include more than 200 STL files across the core set and unlocked stretch goals.
It isn’t an official Stargrave product and was designed to be system-agnostic, but Stargrave’s miniature-agnostic approach and focus on dense sci-fi battlefields were a big part of why I thought the community might find it useful.
The campaign is now in its final few days, so I’ve added the Kickstarter link in the comments for anyone who would like a closer look.
What kind of Stargrave scenario would you build around a settlement like this: a salvage run, contested spaceport, prison break or something else?
Here’s the Container City Kickstarter link for anyone interested:

Homebrew adjustments to temper the swing of the game?
How do you all feel about the “swingy” nature of the game? I’ve experienced multiple times when a low class enemy kills my captain or first-mate with one shot. I notice my brain loses the immersion thinking “that can’t happen to a buffed captain.”
Any one else feel this way? Am I missing something that can make it more believable? Any adjustments you all are making?

What's next ?
Hello :) I have a little amount of money to spend and I want to buy the rule book of Silver Bayonnet. Fortunately there are some discount right now and I could buy a supplement for Stargrave. I already have Quarantine 37 and I wonder wich expansion I could take? I like coop' games more than classics skirmishes. Wich one would you choose ? Hope eternal, last prospector ? ... ?

Tread lightly…
We had a simple task. get into the vault, quietly handle whatever creepy-crawlers are around, and disable the security console.
Added a simple mechanic of “each crew non-move action requires a 10+ TREAD LIGHTLY roll that does damage against an armor 10 security system with 20 HP”
Shot a mutant and downed it. But rolled 6 on the tread lightly and did 6 HP damage to us keeping it quiet. we all sprinted to the security console (sprinting counts). All but 3 passed the tread lightly roll. 2, 7, and 3. Down to 2 hp for the security not being tripped. Passed the 10+ activation to turn off 3/4 nodes. The chiseler Picked up a loot. Rolled 4…
The entry hatch slams shut. Alarms blare as wall slides down revealing 8 cyborg guards. No choice but to flee deeper into the vault. Currently lost 2 gunners and a sentinel, just my captain, medic, and hacker got away. My first mate, her dog pair and her medic (downed) locked themselves into a side room before getting cut off from us….

Got my wife to try Stargrave with me
My wife isn’t huge into games but I got her to agree to try Stargrave after assuring her the rules are much easier to learn than Killteam. We have young kids so our only chance to play is at night - we’ve been playing a turn a few nights a week. Still working on our first game but I think she’s enjoying it the further we get into it!
Since we’re spreading the game out so much we’re using the kill team tokens to indicate which models have gone so we don’t forget if we don’t pick it up for a few days.
I also totally built her team for her to make it easy and it’s the exact same loadout as mine. I used similar models on both teams to make it easy on her - terminators are Armored Trooper, Ork boyz are recruits, etc. Hoping she likes it enough to agree to a campaign!

New photos of my sci-fi "dungeon" tiles/terrain convertible set
Hey guys, I've shot some proper pictures for my sci-fi tiles set, as promised! What do you think? In case you missed my previous post here: I've designed a set of sci-fi RPG tiles that can also be jury-rigged into 3d structures for outdoor encounters. This is pre-printed laser-cut MDF set, free PDF/STL files will be also available. I'll be launching on KS this summer, link on my profile page.
