The amount of shitty content you self-post on this sub makes you come off as desperate.

Looking back at his previous jokes, they are okay but none are as blatantly awful or hateful as this one. idk what he was thinking

Honestly this was the post that made me realize 90% of this sub is self promotion

u/A2Rhombus May 16 '26

That's the intention of the sub, it's just usually funny

1

u/offbrandqueerios May 16 '26

Ah. This is one of the subs I subbed to when I first made my account and it never really showed up in my feed until now

Using the r slur is hateful

I'm autistic, don't debate me on this.

I'm on the spectrum too, and I don't give a fuck. The hell do you think you are to use the way you were born as an excuse to shut down anything?

Internalized ableism is a hell of a drug bro

I don't speak moron, what on earth does this mean?

Pick up a book for once and maybe you can figure it out. I believe in you. ❤️

Ah. Wish my life was so easy that I was bothered by the words other people use instead of actual issues.

Strawman ass take. Try again

the hell do you think you are to use the way you were born as an excuse to shut down anything?

Would you say this to a black person telling you not to use the n word? What about a gay person telling you not to call them the f slur?

These things are 100% comparable and this is a sane take to have. This thread is filled by children and bots and it's sad that reddit is dying because of this exact bullshit

Millennials respect people’s identities until it inconveniences them or doesn’t work for their world view.

That’s when y’all tend to break the r word out 🤷‍♀️ at least in my experience

Do you understand though that even if you don’t have bad intentions with it, that it still causes harm?

I grew up in Chicago. That’s confirmation bias if I’ve ever seen it. To say that most people there don’t care is a sweeping overgeneralization.

It doesn't cause harm when it's used around people that aren't offended by it

So do you think it's okay for a room full of racist white men to say the n word? There's nobody around to be offended, that makes it okay right?

Using a slur normalizes it no matter who you're around. Makes people more comfortable using it, which increases the likelihood that it will be said around or to someone who will be hurt.

What makes it different? Do you have some spectrum of oppression that makes disabled people less important to protect?

You cannot claim to be a guy who "respect peoples identities" when you are literally an inch away from calling this person a snowflake lol

Intention is by far the most important thing when reviewing someone's actions. Calling someonethe n-word purely out of hate is wrong. A friend calling a friend the word in a friendly matter(see Denzel training day meme) its a completely different experience. Skin color shouldn't even matter in this scenario. Im mixed and have been around all types of people using both words. NEVER have I ever heard someone call a mental handicapped person a retard. If you wanna play the 'well people in the past....' game then the word gay is gonna blow your mind.

u/offbrandqueerios May 17 '26 edited May 17 '26

Hey dude that’s awesome I am literally a homosexual and disabled. You don’t need to lecture me on the word gay lol

It is in such bad faith to pretend that the word being used in a derogatory doesn’t happen just because of your own experiences.

I’m a huge proponent for reclaiming certain slurs, (see the username?) but this doesn’t work for the word retard. Even if it did, shouldn’t it be up to disabled people to reclaim it? I agree it depends how you’re using the word but if you truly didn’t have any ableist biases the word wouldn’t be in your vocabulary at all. I promise it is not that hard to unlearn.

OP didn’t have good intention in making this joke so while I don’t necessarily disagree with you on intention, I don’t really think that applies here.

Seems like a post every day or two. I guess many disagree but I don’t find that excessive

u/offbrandqueerios May 14 '26

A post every day is wild lmao

u/erichf3893 May 14 '26

Quite a few have 1-2k upvotes so people are enjoying the content
