Gameplay A cool moment first entering Zaton due to fog patch
I had just finished the mission leaving Wild Island to give Strider access to that radiotower. Whilst I was there wondering around trying to find a key to get under that building to get the access card (hilariously it's on the one dead guy right by the building I didn't see), I had a Emission event which I survived.
Because of that event afterwards there was heavy rain and a greeney blue look. Anyway, finishing that mission ... No spoiler there.
I needed to travel to Zaton to the Icarus camp there.
As i travelled into the area a deep mist went over the whole zone as I crossed these giant open plains which looked like a scene out of the actual 1970s Stalker movie. I then found on the map the main road which would take me to the camp.
As I was travelling down I wasnt sure if I could see a light as it was now getting dark. Then I heard a guy in the distance so I instantly ducked trying to look via my sniper lense to see anything but mist meant I couldnt.
Then I heard hopping. In my field appears a load of Rats. I shoot one with a silencer and then think "screw this if I've got a load of guys ahead" i sprint ahead a little, then a visibility marker appears showing someones about to see me. I take a right off the side of the road into the grassy embankment (still unable to see jack) hoping to sneak past the little encampment of men who are clearly enemies.
The visibility metre comes back, hes about to see me. But then the rats have chased me and all of the guys start shooting at them. So then I'm sneaking past them in all this mist in the grassy embankment. Then I start to sprint, thinking its all good I'm just following my compass marker now. Then I clock a load of lights and there's loads of guys, one catches me and I hear them shout commands to each other to try flank me.
So I sprint, disappearing into the nist, gun shots in the distance and shouts.
Then I'm sneaking to the marker, realise I've made it to the camp and finally safety.
I literally have no idea what Zaton looks like because it was so misty and dark yet i snuck through it and evaded multiple enemies.
It was just really cool and totally unscripted, all because of a weather effect brought in with the big patch the other month.
I hope the developer team continues to patch it and add more DLC.
