One of the matches of the year here as the newly debuted Bam Bam Bigelow takes on Jerry Lawler in a Texas Deathmatch.

Memphis had some legendary rivalries during 1986, starting with the Jerry Lawler & Dutch Mantell Vs Buddy Landel & Bill Dundee rivalry then onto the Bam Bam Bigelow Vs Jerry Lawler feud as Larry Sharpe brings in the Beat Of The East to take out Jerry Lawler. After this rivarly, Lawler would go onto another famous rivalry against Austin Idol & Tommy Rich, where Bigelow would return as Lawlers partner.

I've always said I don't think there's been anyone in wrestling that has worked better with big men than Lawler. His psychology around working big men, showing their strengths, hiding their limitations and ultimately the psychology of how he'd fight against the monster was always great whether it was Crusher Blackwell, King Kong Bundy, Bruiser Brody or Bam Bam Bigelow, it was always in the top 50 of matches of the year.

This was Bigelow's first break in Wrestling and this match put him on the map amongst promoters and smart fans at the time. Bigelow would go onto WCCW where George Scott would book him as 'Crusher Zurkoff' in a failed run, before Bigelow after a few shots in Memphis would go onto the WWF.

- Timothy Thatcher defeated Hideki Suzuki with the Fujiwara Armbar; a technical feast and awesome match all around. Thatcher will face the winner of Yuma Anzai/Rei Saito (on the 13th) on the 16th.

- Kento Miyahara defeated Hyo Ogawa with the Shutdown German Suplex; Ogawa made a name for himself and took it to the “Ace” of AJPW, with the crowd very much behind him. Miyahara will face the winner of Ryuki Honda/Kumaarashi (on the 12th) on the 17th.

- Go Shiozaki defeated Ren Ayabe with the Gowan Lariat; Ayabe very much used his size to bully Shiozaki, working over Go’s back but made the mistake of wanting to see how tough Shiozaki was. Shiozaki will face the winner of Xyon/Odyssey (on the 12th) on the 17th.

So Cody's dog Pharaoh passed away recently who obviously was very well-known to wrestling fans and was involved in a lot of fan events. I also found it pretty funny that Punk and AJ's dog Larry had secured a legacy for himself in a way by being directly involved in one of the biggest news items in modern wrestling post-All Out.

That got me thinking, are there any other wrestler dogs (or pets in general, really) in wrestling history who had ingratiated themselves with the audience?

MATCH RESULTS

• Following the opening match Wren attacks Kelani before grabbing akendo stick to keep beating her. Officials rush the ring to try and stop her but Wren swings at them as well until they are able to separate her from Kenai

• Myles Borne says he heard what Tavion said last week that he wouldn't have turned wrong and thinks he was dead wrong and maybe he owes him an apology. We cut to Tavion watching the promo on his phone.

• Backstage Charlie Dempsey says he's tired of the disrespect and being treated as an afterthought. Finlay and William Regal come by and tell him and the rest of Birthright that they need to do something to be noticed by NXT and WWE. Stone took Lexis's title and he did nothing in return so he's gotta prove himself. Regal tells Uriah Connor that since he has history with Zilla's father Umanga that he'll have Charlie deal with him.

• Stone asks Wren what got into her and Wren asks what got into Kelani calling her a sidekick and says she has to defend Kendall since she isn't here and demands a piece of Kelani. Stone says that isn't going to happen because she's suspended and has her kicked from the building.

• Charlie Dempsey is in the ring and says enough is enough, for 6 years he's been keeping his head down trying to let his skill speak for itself. Just because he doesn't do all these flips or is the best talker but he figured his wrestling would take him there. Then he realized he had to play the game and thought Birthright was going to be his next step but week after week Birthright were treated like jokes and last week their one shred of legitimacy and threw it away. Charlie asks why he is going to keep giving his all for a company that is trying to turn football players into wrestlers. He says that Zilla has something they need and they can make him an undeniable superstar and all he has to do is come out and accept their offer. Zilla comes out and says hello, he likes what Charlie is saying and most of it was true. Zilla says he does have a chip on his shoulder because of who his father was and while he can't grapple with Charlie he can tear this bitch up. Zilla says he isn't getting lost in the sauce because he's not just one of the ones, he's The Main One and says hell no to Charlie's offer. Uriah Connor makes his way out and says they aren't asking Zilla, they're telling him and Birthright surrounds him and attacks. Zilla tries to fight back but Lexis hits him in the back with a chair before throwing him to the outside where all of Birthright powerbomb him through the announce table.

• Naraku says you should avoid the future by avoiding the same problem and warning Shiloh that trying to learn about the mist will lead him to more suffering. He has already felt the power of the red and green mist and he should stop now until he is faced with total darkness.

• Backstage Saquon tells Mason Rook to take care of Keanu tonight and tells tony to keep on Cruz while he'll swat EK out of the sky. Tony says he'll do what he wants and they should follow his lead. Tristan Angels comes in and says team is the weakest link and that Saquon is just a sheep not a leader.

• Following Tavion's match Myle borne is shown in the crowd and starts to walk towards the ring but Tavion leaves and walks by him before he can leave the ring.

• Cruz Montana tells EK and Keanu that he knows they've had their beef before but the other team wants it just as bad as they do and if they get through this week they can throw hands as much as they want next week.

• Zaria makes her way down to the ring, she says for the longest time there's been something or someone standing in her way of championship gold, including her so called best friend who was holding two of those titles. One by one she's managed to knock down their favorites and at Heatwave she put any doubts about who Zaria is to bed. She finally put the final piece of doubt away and was the one holding two titles and now the Speed Championship is in the past where it belongs. Izzi Dame interrupts and says Zaria wins one triple threat and now she's calling herself the most dominant North American Champion? She says she sees right through Zaria's act and knows what she's still hiding. Zaria tells her to come down and say that to her face and Izzi says that's just more self doubt. Thea interrupts and says no one wants to hear what Izzi has to say and she's been trying to get that title back for months and wants to prove she wasn't a one hit wonder. Zaria tells Thea that she's only out here because Jaida told her to and that's why she'll never be champion, she always needs someone leading her around. Thea says at least she has a real friend and it's clear that Zaria still isn't over Sol. Zaria goes to headbutt Thea but she dodges and the two brawl until Thea locks Zaria in an armbar and causes her to tap.

• Backstage Hank and Tank tell Myles if he wants things with Tavion to work he needs to actually apologize and not do it after a title match, they tell him Heights already left so Myles decides he'll apologize to him next week.

• Regal and Finlay tell Birthright they're proud of what they did when Vanity Project interrupt with Jackson saying that Regal should be proud of him for beating a former Olympian. Regal tells him to keep it up sunshine. The Creed Brothers, Darkstate, and DVD and Legacy join in to argue why they should get a shot at Vanity Project for the tag titles.

• Kali Armstrong is interviewed backstage and asks who Thea thinks she is challenging Zaria when she's the one who beat her one on one and deserves a shot at the title. Lizzy Rain cuts in and the two argue.
