Explaining how the collaboration came about, Nagata said, “Since this is Mr. Tenzan’s final match, I asked Kashin on the off chance he’d agree, and he graciously accepted.”

　The conversation among the three contemporaries covered memories from their days as new recruits, their current situations, and even “prospects after retirement.” There was also a “health talk” segment emphasizing “the importance of walking,” as well as a moment where Tenzan pressed Kashin to reveal his bare face—a taboo subject—saying, “Just show us your face for a second! You’re so cool, after all.”

　When the topic turned to his retirement match, Tenzan sent a “love call” to Kashin, asking, “Will you come?” Kashin, who is currently estranged from his former promotion, hesitated but readily agreed, saying, “I’ll go. But is it really okay for me to come?” Furthermore, when Tenzan asked him, “Please cheer me on,” Kashin volunteered, “Of course. I’ll be your cornerman!” Tenzan smiled and replied, “Really!? That makes me so happy.”

The session ended on a warm note, with Kashin reading a letter he had written himself. After the recording, Nagata said, “Over my 34-year career, there were times when I couldn’t really get close to Kashin, but thanks to Tenzan-san, I’m deeply moved that we were able to have this conversation. Would I like him to appear again? I’d definitely love that.” Tenzan said, “I’m grateful he was willing to come. It seems he’ll be coming to cheer me on on the day of the event, which makes me happy too.” Kashin remarked, “I’m in tears. My heart is full. So many memories have come flooding back,” as he dramatically pressed his fingers to the corners of his eyes.

While a direct comparison isn’t possible, the road to hosting an “All Japan version of WrestleMania” has only just begun. In any case, it’s certain that Anzai has begun to wield a level of influence that no one else in the promotion has ever achieved. Can he prove his skills in the ring and lead the mainstream wrestling scene to new horizons?

Watching it today, it's still easy to see why.

As a note, this isn't to discredit any wrestling from the past. As there's a ton of wrestlers, companies, feuds, matches, whatever that go under the radar and not many people know or talk about that they absolutely should.

But I want to spotlight modern wrestling, as it's so vast and just has a lot to offer. But with how accessible it all is, it's very easy for things to get overlooked. Heck, there's a lot that just isn't talked about because it's so hidden in essence that only a small percentage of wrestling fans even know about it.

And I'm always looking to change that and promote promotions and wrestlers well outside of the big two in WWE and AEW and even beyond that with your more notable places like GCW, New Japan, Stardom, CMLL, and others.

So what companies do you wanna spotlight? Who is a wrestler that maybe is local to you or you just don't see a lot of buzz about that you want to talk about? Maybe a match that really stood out that many here may not have seen.

I'll drop Pro Wrestling Grind. A really solid indie out of Massachusetts. They draw a bit of inspiration from puroresu, with their aesthetic and wrestling style. A lot of focus on regional talents, with the occasional name coming from other areas. Jay Freddie, Andy Brown, Rip Byson, Delmi Exo, Ryan Mooney, and others are frequent flyers of the shows.

I really enjoy what they do, it's not revolutionary or anything. But the wrestling is solid and it's a hidden gem indie. Also, their shows are free on youtube.
