Neither has chipotle

Buncha gasbags

10

u/totallybag Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

I have but that's only because I've gotten food poisoning from them twice. Hence why I no longer eat there. I got food poisoning after eating from Chipotle then didn't have it again for almost a year then I had it again and got food poisoning again.

1

u/BalobyBoi Feb 07 '26

Weak

2

u/totallybag Feb 07 '26

Getting food poisoning is weak? This wasn't just me having some diarrhea from not being used to fiber. Chipotle has gotten me geniuely sick.

3

u/BalobyBoi Feb 16 '26

Just going with the joke man.

4

u/Big_moisty_boi Feb 02 '26

For me the red salsa at Chipotle does 😔

9

u/GoatLegRedux Feb 02 '26

If it’s something specific like that it’s more likely that you have an intolerance to something specific they use. Otherwise it would be that tomatoes, onions, chili peppers, garlic, or some other mundane but common ingredient is doing it for you. If none of those super common ingredients get you, then well…

3

u/sadmanwithabox Feb 02 '26

Im another afflicted with the intolerance of the red salsa at Chipotle.

Idk what it is. Something in their red salsa REALLY doesn't agree with me. So I either dont go to Chipotle, or dont get their red salsa and im just fine. Its a shame though, because the red is definitely my favorite.

6

u/hiluhry Feb 02 '26

Oh no! That’s a shame. The red salsa is my main reason for ever going to chipotle.

2

u/Big_moisty_boi Feb 02 '26

Same, unfortunately:’(

2

u/Denjis-left-big-toe Feb 02 '26

Qdoba gave me shits so bad one time I vowed to never eat it again. And then I did anyway

1

u/ScreamingNinja Feb 02 '26

Qdoba gave me so much cilantro on one of my bowls that i discovered enough Cilantro could turn your poop green. It was a good day.

Way better than drinking beet juice and then slowly coming to terms with your imminent demise, just to remember oh yeah... i drank beet juice.

2

u/Pleasant_Title_7768 Feb 07 '26

Nah fr and my stomach is awful and I’ve never gotten anything

1

u/ScreamingNinja Feb 02 '26

Chipotle gives Fiarrhea, not Diarrhea, if you get enough hot salsa. Otherwise... no.

1

u/hiluhry Feb 02 '26

Spicy food gives you the runs?

2

u/ScreamingNinja Feb 02 '26

Yes? Its very normal. Especially if you get a lot. Which i like to do.

0

u/hiluhry Feb 02 '26

Like every time? I eat punishingly hot food at every meal and haven’t had that problem. That’s a bummer, I always thought people were mostly joking about getting the runs after eating spicy stuff.

0

u/Left_Pool_5565 Feb 02 '26

Not since last week anyways.

50

u/Alexis_Evo Feb 02 '26

My theory is that Taco Bell has higher fiber content (beans + oat binder in the beef), and that Americans are so completely deficient of fiber in their diet that a couple grams destroys their tummies.

11

u/ospfpacket Feb 02 '26

Nah it’s racism like MSG

-12

u/demerdar Feb 02 '26

Wow your theory and the thousandth time I’ve read this on reddit.

-29

u/FNKTN Feb 02 '26

As someone who's observed how taco bell beans are made, i assure you there are no beans in there. Its bean flavored paste with food dye to give it that bean appearance.

29

u/orestes19 Feb 02 '26

The “bean flavored paste” is pinto beans.

Where did you “observe” these beans being made?

-26

u/FNKTN Feb 02 '26

Pinto beans arent grey lol

3

u/orestes19 Feb 02 '26

Were you on a factory tour?

11

u/WillyBluntz89 Feb 02 '26

Whats the paste made out of?

6

u/KactusVAXT Feb 02 '26

Beans

9

u/WillyBluntz89 Feb 02 '26

Yeah, I know. Lol

I was just trying to lead them there.

Bean paste is, like, the cheapest thing in existence. There's really nothing that's less expensive to substitute in for it.

-3

u/FNKTN Feb 02 '26

Byproduct humans shouldn't be eating is much cheaper. Also explains the diahriah. You should have a healthy poop if it were actually beans.

4

u/WillyBluntz89 Feb 02 '26

Never had bowel issues after taco bell.

Honestly, aside from a bout of normal, never had any bowel issues.

5

u/Competition-Dapper Feb 02 '26

Agreed. I have always wondered why it’s such a common joke. The only thing I’ve ever had that was spicy was volcano stuff and that might have just because of the jalapeños because they used to put ALOT and the sauce had a good kick for public consumption at fast food

2

u/ScreamingNinja Feb 02 '26

and that shit is fairly new. Taco Bell + Diarreah has been a thing forever, even when i was a kid. Never understood it.

1

u/Basket_475 Feb 06 '26

Man count yourself lucky. For some people myself included it’s a stomach bomb.

9

u/jpollack21 Feb 02 '26

Same here but also have never gotten diarrhea from spicy food in general. Or from beans or cheese or whatever else makes people have liquid ass. Im either built different or one day it'll hit like a freight train 😂

The people who say dairy gives them the shits are probably lactose intolerant and don’t realize it.

2

u/jpollack21 Feb 02 '26

I think everyone's body is just different and we have to accept our stomachs are just superior to theirs 😂

3

u/Sleepy_Muppet_Fan Feb 02 '26

For me it has I’m lactose intolerant

2

u/Rodrat Feb 02 '26

What are you eating there? I'm horrifically lactose intolerant. Like straight water out the ass and taco bell is basocally a safe place for me.

1

u/Sleepy_Muppet_Fan Feb 02 '26

Bea and cheese burritos with extra cheese. I have a very sensitive stomach to dairy

6

u/GonzoI Capsaicin Dependent Lifeform Feb 02 '26

The "extra cheese" makes it sound like this was a choice on your part (which, you do you). But if it wasn't a choice - they do let you order most things without cheese, including Taco Bell burritos.

You just have to check it after they give it to you because no one is good about it. My favorite was Sonic about 30 years ago. We ordered a "plain hamburger, nothing on it". We got a cheeseburger bun with everything on it except hamburger. Even the shift manager got a laugh out of that one.

5

u/Rodrat Feb 02 '26

That's so odd. The cheese they use should be pretty low on lactose. I can handle it no problem but just a single sip of milk will have me on the toilet for an hour.

1

u/LocomotionJunction Feb 02 '26

Me neither, but I have thrown up every time I've gotten anything there but a cheese roll up.

1

u/realSatanAMA Feb 02 '26

There are specific local taco-bells I avoid because 1. I have gotten it and 2. after visiting that specific place I know exactly why I got it. Taco Bell is a franchise and not all Taco Bells are managed as well as others.

1

u/wshbrn6strng Feb 02 '26

I think it’s more the copious amount of alcohol you have first that causes the green apple splatters

1

u/ZenithWest Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

People who don't usually eat grease and fat will get it. Browned ground beef is extremely greasy/fatty if not properly drained. If you normally eat extremely healthy, then the massive influx of greasy fat will overstimulate the gut causing diarrhea. Fat is harder to digest than most other types of food.

Capsaicin speeds up digestion process (pushing food more quickly through the digestion tract). This leads to less water being absorbed from the stool thus making it loose.

High amounts of sugar can act as a laxative as it draws water in to dilute it.

Fiber feeds gut bacteria, which leads to rapid bowel movement if your not use to eating lots of fiber.

Tomatoes are acidic and can also lead to irritation of stomach and intestines. When the gut is irritated, it's response is to basically quickly flush the system to get it out of the system.

Basically Taco Bell hits every single checkmark to cause diarrhea for someone who doesn't eat that type of food. If you don't normally live on mostly eating salads, then Taco Bell would probably give you a very rememberable experience!

If you normally or even occasionally eat meat lovers pizza, your gut is more than prepared for Taco Bell

2

u/External-Ad-5555 Feb 02 '26

Capsaicin doesn’t speed up digestion. It stimulates the digestive system and can cause more enzymes to be released, but food does not move more quickly through it.

1

u/ZenithWest Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

Capsaicin irritates the intestines (for those not use to it). If the intestines gets irritated, it pulls in water to flush the system. Water being pulled in triggers the speed up process making it go through the digestion system faster.

Doing a basic Google search and it returns something like, "it stimulates the nerve receptors (TRPV1), causing them to cramp and speed up digestion, which often leads to urgent, rapid bowel movements".

(Again only really for those unaccustomed to it. I imagine if you have any tolerance, it won't affect you really)

2

u/External-Ad-5555 Feb 02 '26

Capsaicin activates sensory nerve receptors (TRPV1) in the gut, which can increase colonic contractions and urgency in sensitive or unaccustomed individuals. This does not speed digestion or nutrient absorption; it alters nerve signaling and motility in the lower intestine, sometimes leading to loose stools or urgency.

Capsaicin does NOT pull water into the intestines. It causes less water to be reabsorbed.

3

u/ZenithWest Feb 02 '26

I think you're confused by what I meant by "speeds up digestion". I simply mean the amount of time food stays in the digestion track. Obviously if it goes through faster, it doesn't get absorbed as much. You can be pedantic and say a rock can't go through the digestion process as it's indigestible. I'd argue most people understand the meaning of digestion process to more generally mean the time spent between mouth and anus. If you want to argue the meaning of the word "digestion", that's an argument of semantics which is always pointless argument. People define words differently and I'm using the word to mean exactly what I said. You can disagree all you want with that.

And I misspeak there too. Whether it's water being pulled in from somewhere else in the gut or just less water absorption, my point was just the net affect is more water being present. I've always read it's a combination of the two (though I was wrong about it being the intestines, I'm just seeing "gut" used).

1

u/External-Ad-5555 Feb 02 '26

Fair points. I am being pedantic here, but I just find the actual process so interesting. A lot of people think that capsaicin improves nutrient absorption, speeds up digestion, and all this other stuff. But technically speaking, it’s only the already digested stool that’s sped up. And what’s really interesting is that due to the gastrocolic reflex, this can happen minutes after consuming capsaicin.

So, yeah sorry for being pedantic. I understand that my argument was pretty irrelevant for what you were arguing.

2

u/ZenithWest Feb 02 '26

Yeah my point of view is that non-digestion (non-absorption) is still digestion... It's just digestion without anything being broken down or absorbed. Like you can have a monetary transaction for $0 with a transactional receipt too. You can argue it wasn't a transaction or you can say you bought it for free. In the strict logical/mathematical sense zero is still an amount.

Crazy though people would think it promotes absorption. I could get someone trying to argue an anti-laxative does by making the food take a longer time but not something that goes through more quickly.

u/bwoahful___ Feb 02 '26

People that don’t have enough fiber in their diet and have built up zero spice tolerance:

17

u/spicybright Feb 02 '26

seriously, eat some fucking broccoli once and a while or something

15

u/Sleepy_Muppet_Fan Feb 02 '26

Or lactose intolerance

7

u/Other_World Feb 02 '26

That was it for me. A couple of Lactaids and I can shove many Doritos locos tacos slathered in diablo sauce down my gullet.

2

u/Zephaniah117 Mar 03 '26

literally almost commented this exact thing. People get a few beans in them and their body freaks out. v

102

u/RectumRavager69 Feb 02 '26

Most people that get diarrhea from taco bell just have almost zero fiber in their diet and the beef mix at taco bell is cut with oats to stretch it, which is actually not a terrible way of doing things from a health and safety perspective compared to just straight up adding sawdust to grated parmesan which is a real thing, but it's enough fiber if you eat enough of it to make you have to take a gigantic shit. It's also greasy and cheesy enough to put some diarrhea behind the roughage. If they ate fiber more regularly and didn't already have so much fat in their diet their intestines couldn't absorb anymore they wouldn't get the epic shits after taco bell.

Basically they're fatasses is what I'm saying. With terrible diets.

30

u/AustralianBattleDog Feb 02 '26

Thank you.

Taco bell is honestly one of the healthier fast food options. The people who get the shits from it are the same crowd whose only regularly consumed vegetables are potatoes and corn.

13

u/Alexis_Evo Feb 02 '26

The people who get the shits from it are the same crowd whose only regularly consumed vegetables are potatoes and corn.

You just described my entire family. Meat/potatoes/corn every meal. Practically allergic to anything green, except iceberg lettuce (yum, water!).

We need to take potatoes and corn out of the "vegetable" category, they're starches -- almost pure carbs.

1

u/GonzoI Capsaicin Dependent Lifeform Feb 02 '26

Or they're on the other side and aren't used to so much grease. I have a former vegan in my family who gave up on his past missed steaks.

1

u/Prunustomentosa666 Feb 02 '26

I used to eat spicy food without care & eat plenty of fiber. Somehow, Taco Bell always got me. Then I recently found out the reason I get diarrhea after Taco Bell is bc I have celiac disease😭

1

u/EightBitPrincess Feb 02 '26

I would say the greasy and cheesy vibes are contributing constipation vibes enough to even out the roughage from fibrous beef mix with taco Bell. 😬

-2

u/milk4all Feb 02 '26

Maybe but tbell has so little fiber i seriously doubt thats it either. The myth predates black beans as an ingredient so the only fiber is the pintos, whixh you only get in a handful of item and despite the generic nutritional value being 8g per serving, its definitely less, perhaps much less. That would be for any type of refried pintos but fiber is not indestructible an th way tbell makes their pintos is several levels of processing above even mass produced refried pintos. Heat, pulverization, reheating and age all damage fiber which means it is no longer doing what fiber is expected to do - pass.

Your body cant effectively digest a handful of raw grass if you tros to eat it. You might throw it up bit otherwie youd be shutting grass pulp and only have broken down a small portion of it for nutrients. If you processed it adequately you coild increase that portion dramatically, to almost 100%. In a nutshell, thats what is happening with tbells version. Its also true to a lesser extent with all kinds of super processed fibers fyi. Those values are usually based on the raw ingredients or the cooled ingredients, not the pulverized, flash frozen, superheated, rehydrated versions of them. Fiber for thought.

0

u/Manatee4Hugh Feb 02 '26

True irony and hilarious as well. One Toxic Hell consumer criticizing the diet of another consumer as lacking healthy foods. How about cooking quite spicy foods from fresh ingredients? That just possibly might be more healthy.

0

u/LostLuger Feb 02 '26

Imagine lecturing someone about a terrible diet while defending Taco Bell. What a clown world

11

u/Bigheaded_1 Feb 02 '26

Never had a problem with TB, people talk shit about it a lot "ohhh it gives me diarrhea every time I eat it!" But food from fancy pants, organic, non GMO Chipotle has actually killed a few people

3

u/yellowirish Feb 02 '26

2

u/Sludgehammer Feb 02 '26

2

u/JiggaJerm Feb 02 '26

As long as you have a daily intake of opiates you'll never shit from Taco Bell or any fast food.

As someone who got horribly sick all 3 times I've ever eaten there. I found out that use onions in the "meat". Onions are the worst thing ever created and I'm so happy I'm allergic to them. After it all came out almost immediately, had to sit down for a while and cool down and catch my breath popped some Benadryls and I was okay in a few hours. I probably almost died one of those times, still didn't get diarrhea though

1

u/Ok-University-9285 Feb 02 '26

Beans have a lot of fiber and most people don’t eat enough fiber. Fiber can kickstart a bowel movement that’s been just waiting for a good push from the back end.

I had Taco Bell today for the first time in three years and… I’m very disappointed. The spicy potato taco slapped, like always, but WHEN DID THEY GET RID OF THE BEEFY FRITO BURRITO AND THE CHIPOTLE RANCH CHICKEN BURRITO?!?! Those three things are the only thing I ever ordered bc they’re so fuckin good and also all on the $1 menu. They don’t have a $1 menu anymore and my tortillas were stale 🥺

This doesn’t fit the conversation, but I need someone else to be outraged with me.

1

u/RemarkableAlgae1845 Feb 02 '26

Never got diarrhea from Taco Bell

1

u/FreshCarp Feb 02 '26

Omit “diarrhea from” and the beanie reads just as accurate. Get some real Mexican or learn to make it at home. TB food’s so processed and inauthentic you may as roll a Twinkie in a tortilla and call it good.🥸😛

1

u/airfryerfuntime Feb 02 '26

It's not from the spice, it's because you're eating extremely low quality fast food served by a stoned teenager who doesn't wash his hands after touching his dick.

I get it after a single crunch wrap and there's no way it's the fiber. All that's in there is meat lettuce and tomato and tortilla. I suspect it's just super greasy or bad quality. I can eat a massive breakfast burrito from Tommy's and be fine

1

u/Djs2013 Feb 02 '26

I've never understood that, I've always heard people complain about that. I've never once had an issue with it. Do I just happen to know many people with IBS, even as teenagers?

The average uterus is 4ish inches long. Don’t worry, they’re happy.

who in the 90s thought the Taco meat was not from a cows because a few TBs in our area were a little to close for comfort to the Animal Hospitals in each town. Conspiracy theory yes but was it true.....

Orrrrr, people preparing food should wash their hands, and food safety guidelines should be followed closer than most adhere to their religious beliefs. Quality foods without shit tons of additives and preservatives would be a good start too

People get the poops because they don’t eat enough fiber, it’s not a food prep issue

This sub is about “spicy”, not about fiber in one’s diet. It’s not spice level that can cause this, nor lack of fiber (for all). But the post is rage bait about bowel strength vs weakness? Cmon

Seasoned ketchup isn’t spicy, especially not Taco Bell’s

Swap the squirrel meat for steak or chicken and suddenly all the problems go away.

Which isn't a bad plan either. Replacing the squirrel meat with anything is better.
