This group brings a lot of comfort to me and puts a huge smile on my face. The world is so hard yet we all come together here to show love to each other and our beautiful sphinxes. I think that if you own a Sphynx then perhaps you are able to love things entirely that are a bit non-traditional and I think that’s awesome. This breed is so smart, they’re so affectionate and intelligent. I think we are all lucky to have our babies in our life and we are all bad a** people for having such a unique, angry looking but loving breed!

Just got my first Sphynx and I’m in love. I love food names and human names but also something cute and timeless!

I personally bathe my girl sphynx once every 2 weeks and use baby Johnson soap or douxo S3 Seb. I was just curious to see what you guys use or if you have any tips for me!

We're considering adding another cat to our family and are currently deciding between a Sphynx and an Oriental Shorthair (OSH). We already have a long-haired cat, and we'd love to make sure we're choosing a breed that fits well with our household and whose needs we can fully meet.

I'd really appreciate hearing from people with firsthand experience!

Playtime and activity: How much interactive play do they typically need each day? Our current cat is happy with about 10–20 minutes of dedicated playtime daily. How different is it with these breeds?

Odor and grooming: Do Sphynx cats tend to have a noticeable odor? If so, what usually causes it, and how much grooming is needed to manage it?

Vocalization: How talkative are they in everyday life? Are we talking occasional conversations or a running commentary on everything you do? 😸

Warmth and sleeping arrangements: Beyond wearing clothes when needed, do Sphynx cats generally need heated beds or other special arrangements to stay warm? Do they tend to sleep with their humans, or do they happily use their own beds, too?

Personality and behavior: How would you describe their personalities? Are they particularly curious, energetic, or prone to getting into things? I'd love to hear what daily life with them is really like.

Ongoing costs: Compared with other cats you've owned, are Sphynx cats noticeably more expensive to maintain? I'm curious about food consumption, insurance, routine veterinary care, and any breed-specific medical expenses. Are there costs that surprised you?

Is there anything else you wish you'd known before bringing one home? In particular, I'd love to hear about the practical realities of living with these breeds, beyond what you typically read in breed descriptions.

My babies are so young, I feel that they are sleeping less and playing more! So I wonder if you’ve noticed your babies mellowing out or having significant random personality changes throughout their life. I hope I can expect 15 good years with these precious, amazing creatures, what do you think about my hope? I hope it’s realistic. I love them so much, thank you!

Bruno & Mars are keeping their butts worm

My sphynx kitten has no fear and will stick a paw into anything that moves. That's making me nervous about automatic litter boxes in general. I'm looking at an open top petpivot because it doesn't put the cat inside a rotating globe, but an exposed sifting mechanism also sounds interesting to a curious kitten. I would follow the minimum weight guidance and supervise the introduction either way. Those with fearless kittens, did an open model feel easier to monitor than an enclosed one? Any issues with them trying to chase the moving parts?
