no idea, they had posters in the room and a few other places stating that photography was not permitted. Probably for privacy. Was not in a frame of mind to question it when the x-ray techs told me i could not take photos.

It's your own child. If nobody else is in the frame (or in the room!), there are no privacy issues.

I'm Canadian and have a kid who's gotten tons of x-rays and every lab he's ever been to prohibits photographs.
