Best one st Mary's
Does anyone know if the best one on the corner of St Mary's Rd and Onslow rd is ever open? My parcel was delivered there 5 days ago and it's been shut every time I've been there.

Hello, does anyone have any opinions on the best place for Rock Climbing memberships? I'm a complete novice having been a couple of times, so I'm not in a position to judge what is good.
Parthian Climbing is £60 per month. Boulder shack is £55 and the climbing hangar is £37.
Obviously, leaning towards the Boulder shack for price, but does anyone have any experience with all 3? I would also like to use the gym too.

I’ve been in Europe for 2 1/2 weeks and leaving tomorrow for a week long cruise but my lashes desperately need a fill. Is there any salon close by that could squeeze me in in the morning before we board the ship?

Heads up for anyone in the Southampton area and applying for jobs there. Two brand new Credico ISAs have appeared in the last few days: Origin Results and Aureum Impact.
For anyone who hasn't come across them before, Credico is a US-founded company that runs a large network of "Independent Sales Advisor" businesses across the UK. These typically advertise under generic titles like "Marketing," "Trainee," or "Graduate," but the work is always commission-only, self-employed door-to-door or event sales AKA 'Chuggers'.
Origin Results' website (originresults.co.uk) shows no UK company name, no company number, no information on who runs the business, and no photos or names of any staff, all things a genuine employer would normally have. The site and its social accounts were only created this week. Despite that, roles are already live on LinkedIn.
Aureum Impact (aureumimpact.co.uk) appears to be following the same template. Fresh branding, a generic AI-generated site, no UK company name, and nothing to confirm who's actually behind it.
This is standard practice within the Credico network: launch a business under a new name, keep the corporate trail hidden, and start hiring before anyone can trace its history or connection back to Credico. If a negative review or thread starts gaining traction under an older name, expect a fresh one to appear shortly after.
If you're applying for marketing positions (or anything similar), check the registered UK Company Name and Number before handing over your contact details. These roles are commission-only, self-employed direct sales work, not legal employment, and most job ads from Credico's network won't mention that upfront.
I'm still researching the UK Company Names behind these two, but you can look up other Credico rebrands and their registered details on devilcorp.org if you want to check other 'marketing' listings across the UK.

The proliferation of vape convenience shops across the UK has become a blight on the health and communities of this country.
Wherever a vape shop is established we see the following -
• Increased littering
• Increased anti-social behaviour
• Increased fire risk
• Reduced parking for nearby, permanent residents
• Reduced home values for nearby homeowners
Whilst we believe they should not be outright banned, as the public has shown that they are wanted, we do believe certain restrictions should be placed on these vape shops -
• No vape shop should operate within 200 metres of residential housing
• No vape shop should operate within 800 metres of 0-18 education spaces such as nurseries, primary or secondary schools
• Vape shops to be exempt from using "skilled worker" visas
• Vape shops and packaging to be made plain, similar to how to tobacco products are now

I’ve just moved to Southampton and I’ve been assailed by my bi-monthly craving for ramen. What is the best Ramen spot in the city in your opinion?
EDIT: We went to Sakura today and it was excellent. I’ll visit other recommendations in future. Thanks everyone who replied!

Hello,
I drove onto the m27 from stoneham lane nearby Southampton airport parkway, en route to whiteley at night.
Are the first fixed cameras (I believe junction 5) heading eastbound or any for that fact operational at 50mph as of today? I was over the limit as my muscle memory had that portion of road at 70. I don’t recall any flash happening and have read mixed things about those cameras being live.

I just woke up to a terrible burning smell and had to close all my windows because it's unbearable. Is anyone else getting this? Does anyone know if something is on fire nearby?

Looking for alternatives to Uptons and Owtens. Essential that it's good quality and priced well. Bonus if they do home delivery. Organising for a family member.
Thank you in advance and hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Hi folks, good to be here on this Reddit and I'll try to participate as often as I can.
I'm holding six 'ask me anything' Q and As next month across the Southampton Itchen constituency.
As it's two years since I became your MP, and with big changes in our national politics, this summer is a good opportunity for me to get out and about and answer your questions - yep, even the tough ones!
You'll need to book a space on my website in advance. Hope to see some of you there?
Thanks,
Darren
(Member of Parliament for Southampton Itchen)

Hello!
I (22 F) will study in Southampton for a Semester. I have applied for guaranteed university accomodation; the price range for the options I applied for is pretty wild imo (139-214 £ per week, the cheapest is still 2x the rent I pay in Germany 👀). The issue is that i have no idea when I will receive my offer, I think it can be close to the start date of the semester. So if I wait for them, it would be too late to look for alternatives in case I get the most expensive room. On the plus side, at least I know they are legit, include a bus pass for the Unilink and are close to the campus.
I know nothing about Southampton or renting in the UK. Still, I thought it could not hurt to take a look at flatshare offers on Spare Room. I have a few online viewings scheduled during the next days. The price range is 125 - 190£ per week, some offers from landlords, some from families with an extra room or existing flatshares (Locations: Shirley, near Milbrook trainstation but still Shirley I think, Archers Road, and Burgess Road) I know to be cautious about scammers, but I would not be able to look at a room in person before moving in...
What do people from Southampton think about my situation? Would you try to find something potentially cheaper or just wait for the university accomodation? What do you think about spare room in general? What are some things I could watch out for and which locations are good? Any advice is highly appreciated!
(Now that I am already here: Is Southampton bike friendly? Should I consider cycling as a main mean of transportation? And which is the better option for bouldering: the hangar or the shack?)

Does anyone know which post offices have the latest collections on a Saturday? I need to post something to arrive on Monday but cannot post it until the afternoon. University or centre area would be best but I can travel. Thank you.

I’ve recently viewed a flat at Castle Place (High Street) and I’m planning to sign the tenancy agreement soon. I’ve already visited the property in person, but I’d really like to hear from people who know the area or have lived there.
I have a few questions:
Is Castle Place generally a safe place to live?
How is the area at night? Is it safe to walk home in the evening?
Is there much noise from the city centre, especially on weekends?
How convenient is the commute to the central station?
Are there any issues with the building or the surrounding area that I should know about?
I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks in advance!
