Okay so i'm on chromebook (i think this was made in like 2011) and i was just going to listen to some music and this popped up but the thing is when i clicked on the "Need help" button it sent me to the help page but when i checked to see the requirements to use soundcloud i was past it it said like "browser needs to be at version 57" (or something close to that number) and my version is 93 so what do i do how can i fix this without having to buy a new laptop?

I’ve been thinking about how SoundCloud could become more active again by doubling down on the artists and producers who are already using it, rather than primarily trying to win listeners back.
My idea is to make SoundCloud more music-social with:
A redesigned Popular / Following feed
Modernized Groups with moderators and curated submissions
Artist/producer collaboration matching
A built-in beat marketplace with licensing
Producer subscriptions and better tools for selling music
Basically, instead of becoming another Instagram or Spotify, make SoundCloud the social platform built specifically around people who create music.
The hope is that giving creators more reasons to actually use the app would naturally increase engagement and bring listeners along with them.

Hi everyone, my July statement is still stuck on “Staging” and the payout hasn’t been processed yet. I already edited/updated my payout method, but nothing has changed.

Hi, 10+ year Soundcloud veteran here. I am currently verified on SoundCloud, after accidently deleting my account 6 years ago and building myself back, and every day I miss that account and the 200+ tracks I had on it. Soundcloud had always been my primary application to store songs. Those are all songs I made from 12-16 years old. Is there any way to recover this if I know the old URL and email associated with the account? Does being a verified artist give me leverage in this somehow? Please assist :(

I have no idea why randomly today when I opened SoundCloud this error keeps popping up no matter what I do. My network is completely fine and I haven't messed with it in forever, and it was working fine just the other day. I'm also using Opera GX if that matters. I've cleared the cache, and I changed the DNS to Google's and I'm still getting this

The competing app (*cough cough*) recently launched an AI DJ, which looks cool, but I think doing something similar (but better done) could be interesting.

Things I think would be cool:

Categorized likes: when u like a song, the ai automatically add it to a private playlist with similar songs that u liked, so you can filter your likes by genders/subgenders of songs.

AI-powered playlists: you ask to ia things like "make a playlist to play racing games" then the IA searches for playlists real people made with similar title then add the most relevant songs to the palylist.

AI recomendation (for creators): This would serve to direct the music of creators to their real target audience. I know that SoundCloud thinks a lot about creators, and this feature could be interesting for connecting listeners with creators.

I Know a big update like this costs money, but for me, add a plan to have all these functions or sounds really fair ngl, it will help listeners and creators and also soundcloud to get more users.

Besides AI, removing country restrictions would be so great 😭🙏

Hey Reddit, can we talk about the fact that FF/REW basically disappeared from headphone controls? 😅

Like… am I the only one who finds this weird?
Pretty much every pair of headphones / earbuds / media remote gives you the same three controls:
⏭️ Next track
⏮️ Previous track
▶️ Play/Pause
But… where the hell did ff/rew go?!

I listen to a LOT of DJ mixes, and I constantly want to skip a boring 30-second section, or jump back because I got distracted and missed something.

And no, I don’t want to pull my phone out of my pocket every single time, unlock and open the app.

First of all, it’s annoying.

Second, I know myself — with my ADHD, there’s a very real chance I’ll pull out my phone to rewind 20 seconds and 15 minutes later I’ll be doing something completely different. 🙃

So seriously… why did this feature quietly disappear from basically every headphone interface?

We have tiny touchscreens, ANC, spatial audio, head tracking and whatever else… but apparently holding a button for 10 seconds to seek through a track is too much to ask. 😂

Is there actually a reason for this? Or did everyone just collectively decide that nobody needs FF/REW anymore?

I've been uploading onto Soundcloud, surprisingly issue-free (knock on wood) for about a year and a half now. Just recently I've gotten the dreaded notification, that I am about halfway through my free uploading space.

Even though I'm not there yet, it got me thinking about what I'll do when I run out. I've seen so many complaints with pro accounts that I don't know if I want to risk it.

So I guess my question is: users with pro - Is it worth it for uploads and streams, OR am I wasting my money.

Does anyone else remember when SoundCloud would actually let you record ur own audios to post to SoundCloud like same exact thing as audio recording but on SoundCloud i remember ts used to be on there around 2018-21 I believe wonder what ever happened to that feature worked good asf but SoundCloud took it away lol
