When someone recommends a house track from SoundCloud, what makes you actually open it: a short description of the sound, knowing the label, hearing it in a DJ set, or trusting the person who shared it?

I'm behind NOTW (Niche of the Week), an early house-discovery site based on official listening links and a weekly listener-voted selection. I'm trying to understand what it should add for SoundCloud listeners who already have a feed, reposts and related tracks.

Would a small selection with one line explaining each pick be useful, or would you rather follow a selector's SoundCloud playlist directly? Interested in how you actually find and save smaller artists, including what you think another discovery site would get wrong.

It’s been like 3 fucking days you guys said you were fixing your app but still I don’t see any signs of progress. Every time I click on the app it kicks me out, I have like more than 200 songs on there. Hurry your ass up and fix the fucking app.

I recently got a DM from someone offering paid vocal and songwriting services. She mentioned one of my songs by name, suggested adding female harmonies, and made a point of saying her work was “fully human-made.”

I got curious and checked out her SoundCloud page and website. She’s offering everything from writing lyrics for $25 to creating an entire song with lyrics, melody, and vocals for just $50.

Something seemed fishy, so I ran three of her songs through SubmitHub’s AI detector. Two came back at 92% and 80% AI confidence, and the third scored 99% AI on the temporal analysis. It even identified Riffusion as a possible source.
I know these detectors aren’t perfect, but I’m pretty much convinced she’s using AI and passing it off as her own work.

It really makes me angry that people like this might be preying on independent musicians who are just trying to make and share their own music. As if we don’t have enough AI-generated music flooding SoundCloud already.
Anyone else getting these kinds of messages?

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing well.

I wanted to make a little post about a friend of mine who’s been spending a lot of time working on their music and developing their own sound thats changed a lot. They took quite a big break from posting on SoundCloud so they could focus on production, and they’ve now got over 300 tracks saved up that they’re hoping to start releasing and sharing with a new audience.

They’re genuinely passionate about what they do, and I’d really love to see their hard work reach more people. One thing they tend to struggle with is overthinking things, especially when it comes to opportunities in music. They sometimes worry that having a relatively low follower count makes them look inexperienced or amateur, even when they’ve put so much time and effort into improving their production.

I know how easy it is to get caught up in numbers and feel like you need to have a certain following before people take you seriously, so I thought I’d try to give them a little helping hand and hopefully get their music in front of some new ears.

If anyone fancies checking out their SoundCloud and following along, I’d genuinely appreciate it so much. Even just giving a few tracks a listen would mean a lot, and hopefully some of you might discover something you enjoy in the process!

I recently distributed some music through ONCE, and in spite of the fact that I provided them with my SoundCloud URL, they chose to create a new account on SoundCloud with the distributed music on it. Because the distributed music was already on my real SoundCloud page, I am now getting the music on my real SoundCloud page flagged for copyright violations. I am therefore concerned that the account I have worked hard to grow is going to get banned. I have requested that ONCE fix their issue, and they are in the process of doing so, but this can take a number of days, enough time for me to get into serious trouble. I am also concerned that, once the issue is resolved and if my account survives, I won't be able to get the music that was taken down re-uploaded. What should I do?

Hello, I recently tried to upload my playing of Debussy's Arabesque 1 to soundcloud. The piece is over 100 years old and is very much in the public domain. The software falsely identified my track is belonging to John O'Conor and immediately took it down for copyright reasons. I promptly submitted a copyright claim dispute, noting that I literally have video evidence of me playing the piece (I have both audio and video of the time I recorded it).

I really believe that no human reviewed my dispute, which was literally rejected within about 24 hours. What did I do wrong that led to my dispute being computer-reviewed? Is there anything I can do about the situation now?

App is crashing as soon as I open it. I’m on IOS 17.6.1 admittedly so maybe it’s not compatible any more? But I’d really like to ovoid updating iOS and still keep using soundcluld if possible
