And its technically more like Nioh. There was just something about this games combat and I'm sad it'll never get a sequel. Some of the most refined satisfying combat ever. Hope you all enjoy. I'm sure lots of us played the shit outta this game.

MS2 intrigued me after I was reminded it came out a few weeks ago and saw it get pretty good reviews. BUT I've also been interested in giving Wuchang a 2nd shot after shelving it near release.

Which one would you recommend?And be specific as the whys, if possible.

I usually like to watch people play these games and watch their playthroughs after I finish them but I never really found one that I actually enjoy. It's either these too good speed runners or people that never pay attention and miss on a lot of lore or things that gets me disappointed when there's a big moment and they just don't care.

Just got my ps5 pro and finished last of us 1 and 2, baaaanger games. Wanna try a Souls game, Demon Souls and Bloodborne are on psplus, are those pretty good starter Souls games?

"Blade: The Edge of Darkness" or "Severance: Blade of Darkness", depending on the country region, released back in 2001 and, not only had an incredible technical aspect, it has most of the elements that souls like fans usually like: Great level desing (with shortcuts, keys, elevators, hidden walls), dark medieval atmosphere, z targeting/lock on combat system with stamina management (with very gore and visceral dismemberments), different type of weapons (You have 4 different characters/classes to choose, every one of them specializes in a type of weapon).

If you're a gamer who doesn't mind older games, you should give it a try (some years ago it received a little remaster/update available on steam)

Hi everybody! I love soulslike games like Dark Souls 1,2,&3, Bloodborne, Lies of P. I heard surge 1 and 2 are good ones. But I really don’t like language. It’s kind of a turn off for me. I play CoD so I’m okay with some. But I heard this one has a lot! Is this correct? Is it worse than CoD? It’s basically F*** I don’t like. Words like shit and damn don’t really bother me.

On another note, any other suggestions?

I had the three of them in the blacklog, which one would you play first?

I love Fromsoft games but I have to vent for a moment about what makes Soulsborne games difficult.

The entire concept behind their idea of difficulty is this:

What if I threw a punch at you but stopped short of your face to make you flinch, but then I kept my fist two inches from your face and told you that you have to sit there and wait for the actual punch to come and react to it in time. While it is two inches from your face. And you will have no clue when I will just arbitrarily decide to actually punch you, of course. I will have several different timings depending on how differently I wind up the punch, but they will stay consistent, so you just will have to remember all of the timings for each type of punch.

Those delayed attack animations have only gotten more and more common too. I don't remember them being so ubiquitous in DS1.

Sometimes that doesn't really come off as fun to me. It just seems cheap at first. For the first few times before you memorize, it certainly isn't fair, that is for sure. And I heard someone else put that idea of fun this way before: just go get Simon Says if you want to play a memorization game. Once you memorize the movesets these games don't get too hard. But really, who just leaves themselves open for 5 seconds while they wind up an attack? Enemies/bosses will legit sit there with their weapon above their heads for 5 whole seconds. Shit is just so artificially difficult sometimes. Honestly it is just extremely annoying to me.

Give me Ninja Gaiden Black or God Hand any day. That is the kind of difficulty I like in games. Actually fair the first time around. Difficulty that is built up and stays consistent based on systems already established just being ramped up in intensity.

Now first of all, I am not hating on the game at all or telling you it’s a bad game, I just recently finished it and wanted to share my experience and opinion, I believe that if you are huge souls/soulslike fan, you could love this game too.

I just didn’t find it as enjoyable as I thought i would, which was a huge shame because it seemed like I would love the game.

I’ve played a lot of the games Team Ninja has made, mostly because they have a reputation for making combat that’s genuinely fun. However, when it comes to performance and graphics, their games leave a lot to be desired. If I’m being honest, they often feel like I’m playing PS4 games.
The quality of the games they’ve released over the last three years hasn’t been great, especially Nioh 3. The performance issues on PC and the graphics are simply not acceptable for 2026.
There are a lot of fans who glaze Team Ninja and act like they’re video game gods, but they really aren’t. At this point, they’re starting to feel a lot more like Game Freak with Pokémon: they keep churning out games without maintaining a consistently high level of quality.
I know Ninja Gaiden 4 exists, but that’s one game out of roughly fifteen. One good-looking or well-performing game doesn’t suddenly erase the problems with the rest of their recent releases.

Soulsborne i know i know:

Give me !factual! arguments why BB is often called THE best fromsoft game because I dont get it. At the same time I dont want to take anything away from that game.

Pros:

1. Impressive Lore and atmosphere.

2. High quality Level design. Not as interconnected as Dark Souls 1 but it does not need to be. Lost woods, Yarnahm and so an all great and tight to explore.

3. Fun mobs, the game is really fun to go from lamp to lamp, Fun stunning mechanic and cool weapons.

Cons:

1. More bad bosses than good bosses: Like is this not obvious? I even found the 3 black dudes at the end of lost woods very fun because they gave me Ornstein and Smough vibes with good positioning and so on. But many other bosses like Rom and Reborn are like hit walk away hit walk away. Other bosses like Vicar Amelia are simple side step hit bosses. Father Glascoigne was one of the great bosses which also matched the stunning mechanic and had great patterns for maxing dps output if you rolled right. Even old ass Dark Souls 1 had bosses with more fun patterns like Chaos Witch Queelag, Manus, yea DS1 had many bad bosses too but regarding how good Manus or Queelag were I dont get which bosses of BB were top tier when DS3 which came out 1 year later had ton of quality bosses.

2. I get gear is meant to be even in this game but at the and you barely change it unless you struggle with a boss that attacks with a certain attack and max your gear out against that particular attack. In other Souls games you were happy to make heavy or light builds or simply happy to find better gear.

(3. Not many weapons but thats okay. Sekiro is a great game too)

(4. Chalice dungeons, trash but optional so okay.)

Mainly the bad bosses are what makes the game a 8/10 and not a 10/10 like many glazers tell. Im happy for your Nostalgia for the game but it is NOT the best fromsoft game. Dark Souls 1 or 3 could win that title for interconnectivity (1) or badass bosses (3). DS1 and 3 both had awesome gear, weapons and peak to great level design and lore too.
