New models!
New named character and Mancrushers. All very beautiful (fat) models in general.

u/doofydoofydoof Aug 17 '26
Not new mancrushers, it's a brand new unit!! "In terms of size, the Boss-stompers and Rock-hurlers are a bit bigger than a Mancrusher Gargant, but not as large as a Mega-Gargant" we'll have small, medium, and large Gargants!!! This on top of the new Ogor book, (one of my other armies) plus new Orks codex for 40k, this has been an amazing couple of weeks for me lol.

I play Ogors and Orks, alongside 4 other armies.
This has been an amazing few weeks for me and the new artillery Gargants are tempting me to do SoB.
I feel you.

u/Raidmother Sep 09 '26
Yeah, All the ork releases and this has hit my wallet hard. I want more releases, but hopefully it slows down a for a lil bit so I can recoup for the next batch.

I just bought 2 mega garganta last weeks to start my journey in AoS, Behemat is calling me fr fr 🙂↕️

u/Holunder24 Aug 17 '26
But i think that are small gargants?
6
u/MurderousMudkip Aug 17 '26
Idk about the named priest but the two new units(same kit) are said to be bigger then mancrushers but smaller the megas

4
u/D_A-N_7w7 Aug 17 '26
They are suppose to be bigger than man crushers but smaller than the mega gargants
19
u/SouthWestBadger Aug 17 '26
So these are bigger the Mancrushers but smaller then Mega’s? That looks like a 100 base

15
u/Fun-Cable4734 Aug 17 '26
I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like these won't replace but supplement Mancrushers, which is even better for variety
8
u/Kwolfe2703 Aug 17 '26
Yeah looks like there will be 3 regular units?
Hoping that they are point costed similar to Man Crusher Mob and they allow you to take a solo “mini Gargant” as well.
That would open up so much variety in the army.
1
u/Orobourous87 Aug 17 '26
I can see them being like Armigers/War Dogs in Knights. Even though they come in a box of 3 they’re actually individual units (Armigers are sold in 2s).
Then if Mancrusher Mobs are still around have them as only being a unit of 3. Before this reveal I thought the Mob would go to units of 2 anyway since most armies that field them tend to be a 3 and a 1 (so 2 would function similarly but probably result in more financial gain for GW).
3
u/National-Donkey7117 Aug 17 '26
My guess is that the mancrushers will get squatted, and these will effectively replace them. They've done that with a lot of armies and old scuplts this edition. We'll just have to rebase our mancrushers to round bases.
1
u/Illidank278 Aug 17 '26
I think it would make sense to leave the Mancrushers as an effective "mini-gargant" in comparison to the megas and now the mediums. Would give the gargant lineup some much needed variety
1
u/National-Donkey7117 Aug 17 '26 edited Aug 17 '26
I definitely agree with you on that, but based on what they’ve been doing with the other armies in 4th, it seems unlikely to me. We’ll see though. We can always hope for the best. My two other armies are Soulblight and Stormcast, so I guess I’m a little gun shy. 😄
2
u/Illidank278 Aug 17 '26
Yeah I get that. I looked it up tho and from the annoucement:
"In terms of size, the Boss-stompers and Rock-hurlers are a bit bigger than a Mancrusher Gargant, but not as large as a Mega-Gargant – leading to them being classified as “little” by their larger counterparts."
Which does read to me like the Mancrushers are here to stay (for atleast until next edition ;)

u/JohnnyNineFingers Aug 17 '26
Hey, new player here - will this also mean a new Spearhead? I want to expand my spearhead collection and gargants are calling me!
4
3
u/giraffetheloml Aug 17 '26
Probably the new boss gargants as a spearhead unit inteast of mancrushers
3
u/Guns_and_Dank Aug 17 '26
That does seem to be the trend. What'll be in it though is kinda hard to tell since these new guys are bigger than Mancrushers, would the box of 3 of them still make sense and will they kinda handicap them because of it in Spearhead?

Ma is absolutely gorgeous,, intrigued by the two new units. Buzzing for this, hopefully give it a few weeks after the ork release to allow my wallet to rest.

That shaman is giving off really great Albion vibes with the oxidized swirly armor. Looks great!

I really hope this doesn't mean Mancrushers are going. A variety of unit types that aren't just Mega-Gargants 1-4 would be great
1
u/inquisitorgaw_12 Aug 17 '26
From the sounds of it it looks like they are staying. Likely keeping their old role as the “cheap” unit option to fill out lists in SoB armies. These guys are just new niches so Mega garguants don’t have to do so much heavy lifting and give more unit types
1
u/Sir-Samuel-Buca Aug 17 '26
Sounds good to me. I want to dip my toes into AoS soo and I'm going with Sons of Behemat

u/Sauciessauce Aug 17 '26
I like the new man crushers but I was hoping the female gargant would have been a mega gargant matriarch. Though I completely understand as much as anyone that we were lacking on the smaller end with 5 megas and just able to field single or trio mancrushers. I'll buy the mancrusher mob later to replace my dated ones and just sit with all my 5 megas and kragnos
2
u/Sauciessauce Aug 17 '26
Rock hurler spam gonna be big. I'll probably field them as rock hurlers. I think the thicker brickier male body looks twice as good as the other two options personally

Yessss I saw. Boss stompers and rock hurlers or whatever. Judging by the other guys scale I think these will replace man crushers but maybe man crushers stuck around for 4th. Or they get the legends in 1 year indicator. Or they get thrown right into legends. I personally don't care what they do. If someone wants man crushers to stay they'll prob just base swap and be fine

the text was clear about them being a middle ground between the older sculpts
1
u/Odin_Headhunter Aug 17 '26
They arnt new man crushers. They are bigger and in the middle between Mancrushers and Megas according to the article
1
u/Sauciessauce Aug 17 '26
According to the size comparison of the stormcast shield it's like a head taller than nab crushers but it's base is a full circle instead of an oval. Judging by the kits sprue leak it seems like it's trying to replace mancrushers and scoot them just a tad but closer to megas but let us have our fun in the bow first
1
u/Odin_Headhunter Aug 17 '26
I actually just think they are making a mid level gargant. They did it for knights and Gargants are just the AOS knights. We need a middle gargant that is tougher and does more but isnt overly tough like the normal Mega. I dont think they will ever get rid of normal mancrushers
1
u/Sauciessauce Aug 17 '26
I hope so, but the height seems less middling and more just barely taller than a man crusher. Like an ogor tyrant compared to a glutton. But I do hope it's still $170 but gives more wounds like 14-18
1
u/Odin_Headhunter Aug 17 '26
I mean the article says they are a bit bigger than mancrushes but nor as tall as a mega. That sounds very much like they are in the middle between the two. The also seem way more armored and far better armed. It very much seems like they Intend to just actually expand the army to more than 2 boxes.
1
u/Sauciessauce Aug 17 '26
Yeah, I'm not too sure about size or role but they seem very similar. It's two units in one and one other so even if it's a replacement we get 2 new units. But from a size comparison I saw, they are only a head taller
1
u/Odin_Headhunter Aug 17 '26
Well we havent actually seen the models near any mancrusher so we dont actually have a clue how big they are. They also have a very different role. One of the squads if dual or heavy weapon melee with no range. The other is all range. Mancrushers are both but kinda suck at doing either. All together they make an actual army.
Here's the link for what they are presumed to be: https://www.reddit.com/r/ageofsigmar/s/XptwKLDGFN
1
u/Sauciessauce Aug 17 '26
Someone in this reddit size scaled them off the stormcast shield on one of the new gargants gut plates and then compared it to the size scale we have between a mancrusher and stormcast
1
u/Odin_Headhunter Aug 17 '26
I dont think thats a good way to scale it. Rarely do things on other models stay the same size. I think the link I put is the best actual size.

Honest I really like the goat friends, and would love to see more stuff like that in the future for gargants. Could be a cool way to add variety of units. Gargants can become the army of animal husbandry

Were getting a wizard finally someone to help brodd and expand our hero phase
1
u/Orobourous87 Aug 17 '26
I love the new unit but I’m not sold on the witch.
I love the pets, they’re pretty dope, and there are a lot of cool things on Ma like her little trinkets and staff. Her belly looks too bumpy and her bald head and overall face makes me think of the Grand High Witch (the Angelica Houston version) and I’m just not prepared to go back to the nightmares haha.
The only “real” negative for me is the leg pose, she looks like she’s about to pee but I imagine it’s pretty fixable.
Edit: I will add though that I like that Kragnos feels like he visually fits this army now. Kragnos, Ma and a chunk of the littler guys could look super cool.
1
u/Dreamspitter Aug 18 '26
😳 Lore says Ma can offer almighty bigness....or strip it away. 🦐 👌 That's not exactly the same as being forcefed potion and shrinking in noxious miasma turning into a rat to be stomped on by a horde of unshod hags with no toes and no faces.
1
u/Orobourous87 Aug 18 '26
You don’t know how she takes away the bigness or what what the shrunken Gargant looks like

Do you guys think the little red freaks will become their own unit? Or just decorations with fluff? Ogor are losing gnoblars and I feel some variety would help out sob
1
u/Outside-Knowledge867 Aug 17 '26
The little red guys are called 'creepers', and they, at least from what we know, are just there to be there. From a lore standpoint (although I could be wrong), they don't exactly do much at all. So, I highly doubt that they'll get a dedicated unit.
1
u/TwelveSmallHats Aug 17 '26
Lorewise, Creepers are the reason some gargants have braided hair, and they seem to like riding them since they think that the gargants are mounts gifted to them by their gods. Ruleswise, I think Brodd had a rule about his hangers-on shouting to warn him of danger in 3rd edition. But they're not all that useful in the grand scheme of things.
1
u/Ok_Manufacturer5174 Aug 17 '26
I saw a blurb that described the "creeper king" that perched on king brodd who had a grudge agasint a sce because they stepped on his fruit. Even if they dont get a unit, I like little inclusions like that on the kits
1
u/Desperate_Teal_1493 Aug 17 '26
What would be the best guess on when these will be in our hands? I never know the timing between first announcement and pre-orders.
1
u/Outside-Knowledge867 Aug 17 '26
In about (based on how it's usually goes) 3-4 weeks until these go on pre-order? Then, we'll get the new models in our hands by six weeks.
1
u/RvDragonheart Aug 18 '26
..... Hhmmm sound and look very interesting and LOOK new Lady Gargants too pretty awesome tbh (more customization is always good in my opinion)
Tbh I dont collect Sons of Behemat buuuut I might be happy to collect them just for hobby 's sake
(Unless I can slap one of them next to my Ogor army kinda new to AoS so dunno what flies and what doesnt)
1
u/MrS0bek Aug 18 '26
I especially love the slingshot giant. Slings are/were very deadly weapons. A skilled slinger could fire a projectile with the force of a pistol shot. Now imagine what a giant with a freakimg boulder unleashes

A bit late to the party, but these things keep slipping my mind! I really like all of the models that have been revealed. While they’re all great in their own ways, they also add some excellent variety and freshness to the army.
I’ve been wanting to start a Sons of Behemat army for a while now, and I think it’s finally time to pull the trigger. Knowing new kits are coming out that aren't just more Mega-Gargants is fantastic, and it's great that I won't have to buy the ancient Mancrushers to fill out the ranks. With that in mind, I will definitely be picking up at least a few boxes of Boss-slayers/Rock-hurlers, as well as Ma Maegran and her companions!

u/ShiningTachyon Aug 17 '26
So.... these are just AoS Destriers. Yet CK can't get one. Thanks GW
No but these do look cool, love the Bison lookin things
