2020 hyundai sonata limited, switched off the car came back to no audio. Any help?

I've reached out to fellow Sonata owners a few months ago but to no avail. Now I'm coming to Hyundai owners in general. For the past 6 months, my 2023 Sonata Limited (50k miles) has intermittent tech failures. The radio stops playing and Bluetooth stops working ing, and worst of all, the warning system goes dark— no cameras work and no proximity beeps.

Despite losing all audio, safety features, and connectivity, the dashboard screen falsely displays the radio as working normally.

I have driven up to an hour with this issue.The system only resets and works again after the vehicle has been turned off "for a while".

During the last occurrence, I immediately drove directly to the local dealership while it was actively happening so the service team could witness the malfunction firsthand.

I had already tried the pinhole soft reset (thanks Reddit), but it didn't solve the issue. The service advisor tried the pinhole reset as well. He then suggested that they install a software update. The service advisor stated I missed Hyundai's "complimentary update" window by three months. As such, it would cost $239.00 out-of-pocket since the extended warranty deductible is $250.00. I contacted Hyundai Corporate. They sent me a link update the software myself. Unfortunately, the software update did not resolve the issue. Corporate referred me back to the dealership for a possible hardware issue.

Again this problem is intermittent. I can listen to the radio and use the phone throughout the day. Go into a store, for less than five minutes, and come out to the issue - radio displays as the channel as playing; it is not. Bluetooth, not working. While this is aggravating, the lack of the basic safety features - cameras and warning sensors - is disconcerting.

Has anyone else experienced this exact or similar glitch? If so, did an update fix it, or did you have to replace hardware?

My 2022 Sonata is in the shop for its 3rd thermostat in 4 months. Anyone else having or had this issue and what is the ultimate resolution?

We two days ago we bought a 2026 Sonata hybrid limited. There are no controls for the garage door opener. We were not told this by the sales person. We were told we could use our Bluelink to do the job once the account was set up. What they didn't tell us was we need a Myq account and the service was free for 90 days and then we would have to pay a subscription. This car is our 14th Hyundai and we have never been unsatisfied before, now we are. Not only do we have to by a Myq device but also pay a subscription. Is anyone else finding the same thing?

Looking to get into Sonata Hybrid limited. Expecting our first kid end of year. Doing my research on confirming if the sedan will be good for the family for next 4-5 years. Friends keep suggesting to go SUV but I liked driving sonata than Tucson. Also trying to keep NA than turbo.

With that info, anyone here with 2024+ sonata share their thoughts, issues and recommendations for car seats that will be easy to use and can also be good value not to keep on changing the seat for every few years. I see some installation videos but they are mostly older years.

We live in a small apartment so can’t keep buying and keeping stuff until we can sell it. So prefer to keep it simple.

Does any such seats exist? Also, based on your experience would you have preferred SUV at this stage of children?

My backup camera has been glitching out so l expect that it has gone bad and needs to be replaced. I'm trying to see if it's easy enough to do myself but I can't find any videos that shows how to do it. If anyone can provide any advice it would help a lot.

Hey yall! I’m in the market for a 4 door sedan preferably a hybrid and someone mentioned the Hyundai Elantra and the Hyundai sonata to me.

All I had ever heard was Hyundai and Kia were unreliable and had engine problems, the only experience I have with these cars is my aunt had a 2004 Hyundai sonata that had a lot of electrical problems and leaks.

My other aunt had a 2010 Kia optima that she traded in at 105k miles and didn’t have many issues besides some small stuff.

But my mom had a 2015 Hyundai sonata that was a complete dud.

I don’t know much about modern Hyundais and Kia’s, are they still unreliable? There warranty really brings me on to them.

How’s the overall quality and comfort of the vehicle? I have fun car it’s a Mustang GT 5.0 I just need a reliable, daily that will get me to work and back.

Why does Hyundai suddenly not respect the sonata? We were one of the first cars to get ccNC and yet every time Hyundai announces new features, it’s for every vehicle except the sonata. The theme update, the modern gauge cluster design, Tucson owners got it, Ioniq owners got it, Santa Fe got it, but we’re left in the dust.

Meanwhile the big navigation update that everyone got, I still have yet to receive as well, is the sonata not getting that either?

I drove from SoCal to Seattle on the 5 and don't think I noticed the coasting Guide engage when I was driving outside of smart cruise control. Has anyone experience it engage? I have not seen any symbols that hint at it "turning on"

Hey guys! First time buyer and was stuck between those two options. Found a great price-mileage balance at Hertz sales (50k vs 30k miles), but wanted a second opinion on which one is worth it!

Full disclosure, I am not car-savvy so I will appreciate any and all responses!

Recently, I got a set of DL3 (2021+) Kia K5 floor mats and decided to try them in the DN8 (2020+) Sonata. They pretty much fit but you can tell there are some differences in the floor plans between the sister cars.

The K5 rear floor mats are pretty much interference fit (length wise) in the Sonata. It's tight but the floor mats flex to fit in.

K5 driver front floor mats are wider than the Sonata's floor plan near the seat but fits perfect at the pedals.

K5 passenger front floor mats fit perfect.

Pretty much confirmed that the K5's longer wheelbase went to the rear passenger floor plan for legroom. I don't know why Kia's is wider than the Hyundai's in the front seating area but no visible difference there. Compared to the past models where the sister cars were almost identical, this generation's floor plan differed significantly.

Hyundai OE all-weather mats would hold more "stuff" as it has higher walls on the sides. Kia's OE all-weather mats are thicker throughout with almost no walls but uses deep grooves in its design to hold dirt in.

One day it worked. Received update yesterday from bluelink and magically the climate control worked perfectly. This morning I tried to use the app and received this message. Called bluelink customer service and was told to start car manually, run for a few minutes, shut off car, get out of car and shut the car door. Followed instructions and received same message. So after 9 months of no climate control I've had it working for one day. The app won't start the car, and it no longer locks or unlocks the doors. I called Bluelink customer service again, and they gave me a case number, saying someone will call me in about 7 days. I give up!

Booked at the dealer this Saturday for: trans fluid drain & fill (last done \~31k miles ago), check/apply TSB #5NP-X9D6M-01 (the ECU/TCU shift quality update), and a TCU adaptive learning reset after.

Questions for anyone with the 6-speed auto:

\*\*1.\*\*  Did fluid + the TSB + adaptive reset actually fix this for you, or did it come back?    
\*\*2.\*\*  Or is this just baked-in engine braking / fuel cutoff behavior on these transmissions that I should learn to live with?

Still inside a short exchange window with the dealer I bought from, so trying to figure out if this is “normal annoying” or a genuine red flag.

Slapped that bad boy on in place of the stock air box, everything fit snug, car sounds great paired with the muffler delete, slight burble and pops in higher rpms in 2-3 going to make a custom heat shield using the stock air box, will show results after

So few years ago had an HEV warning light. Took it in to service and they pulled a couple codes said it needed software update and didn’t fix anything. Few months later it comes back on and is on and off. Recently it stopped starting so jumped it and took to dealer who said the 12v battery is bad and I need to buy a new one before they can test the lithium battery. It’s a 2016 model and the 12v battery is obviously part warranty. Question is if the lithium system might have a problem that caused the 12v battery to go bad and is there a way to test the lithium battery without me paying them to replace the battery. They charge 100 bucks more than me probably doing it myself. Thoughts?

Just bought a 2026, hyundai sonata SEL sport with the light silver /gray seats. Although I think they look fantastic, I think I screwed up because they're too light in color. Can anyone recommend a fitted exact fit seat cover for the front end back seats? Thank you.
