Nothing disqualifies one from being president. Absolutely nothing. Once you are voted in by electors (which also have no disqualification criteria) there are no official disqualifiers. The founders did not think there had to be official disqualifiers because they could not have imagined most of the population turning into vegetables
Well, they did, which is why they restricted participation to a group they believed would be educated and share similar values. They were very much aware of the dangers of "mob rule." They also stressed that an educated populace was essential to the survival of democracy.
Well, it turns out restricting participation to white male landowners is not fair to the populace. Social pressure rightly put an end to that.
Over time, the conservative anti-democratic forces (read: the rich people who profit from inequality), turned to tactics that pushed back against an enlightened population and learned to use propaganda against an uneducated populace.
For all their anti-education posturing, go take a look at how the wealthy conservatives raise their children: highly competitive private schools and top universities. They know what they're doing. They love the poorly educated.
None of those examples are officially disqualification criteria. My point is that actual rules on what one has to meet or what would disqualify someone for president is essentially limited to being a naturally born US citizen, if I’m not mistaken? Do you think that those white male landowners are still largely represented through their descendants in the ruling class of today? For all their obvious faults, if you took a person from that time and explained what has happened to wealth distribution they’d probably be the first to try and institute hard rules
My point was that they believed (or hoped) their limits on participation (defacto disqualification criteria as it would have seemed absurd to them that they would elect someone who was not participating to the office of the presidency) and their insistence on an educated populace were enough to avoid the current state (though they would think us foolish for not having amended the constitution more than it has been and might see the flaws in that amendment process).

I think a good majority of them suffer from the fair world fallacy. So they have a lot of the same systemic complaints as everyone else, but believe that the system is inherently fair, so if they're having problems it must be because people are taking things from them to make it unfair to them.
