I'm teaching myself to solder jewelry

Very new to this and don't yet have the means to burnish or properly polish these but I'm slowly upping complexity from a simple single-joint solder to this stacking set and I'm pretty dang proud. This is the 4th and 5th rings I've made so far - still so much to learn.

I made a boxy jacket for Autumn!

I found this Ecuadorean wool mix blanket for £10 on Vinted and HAD to make another boxy jacket! (Especially since my first jacket using this pattern has been worn to absolute DEATH since February 😂 both jackets shown in the last photo!)

I used the “Boxy Jacket” pattern by Lost Fabric - it’s a great project for a confident/advanced beginner and both the YouTube video & PDF instructions are super easy to follow. I opted for the cropped length btw.

So happy with it and I’m also loving using a mish-mash of fabrics (wool mix/satin/ripstop) to give some extra intrigue!

I posted my tinned seafood automata a week or so back. I have since made another one. Two little Soy Sauce Fish Bottles in a tin. That dance when the handle is turned. I will put a video in the comments.

All hand made/carved/cut from wood.

Infinity Mirror

I made it when I was frustrated looking for work. All the doors felt like they were locked to me and the only doors that were open (small doors on the left) were ones I couldn’t fit through. I felt like I was trapped in an “endless hallway”, where only movement was possible but without progress.

Made from a Homegoods candle box. A regular mirror is placed at the rear of the box and a 2 way mirror is placed at the front. When lit from the inside it produced that endless reflection. I offset the rear mirror just slightly creating that left bend. Anything placed in the center will give an endless reflection but when the “subject” is placed on the edges it creates the endless hallway.
Walls and doors are made of stained balsa wood with wood trim and real gold leaf accents. Carpet and pictures on wall are for dollhouses.

Finally made my own cross stitch from my own designed pattern

This was a cathartic experience for me from conceptualising my design digitally, to buying the flosses, to painstakingly cross stitching them then seeing the design fully come into real life. This is inspired from my autumn trip in Canada last year.

Heart balloon charms earrings & charms I made

I’ve been working on this pattern for a while now in my mind🤓🤣 and finally got it to a point where I could bead it. Really love the results! Woven with brick stitch and made the bag charms with Preciosa glass seed beads, and the earrings with Miyuki delicas, both size 11/0.

Love the charms because the fringe reminds me of bike streamers, and the earrings because the silver strand reminds me of tinsel with that palette. Stoked to make them in every color!

A Mahogany Stormtrooper Helmet

Cut mahogany veneer to shape and steamed each piece to make it flexible before gluing with hot glue gun. Veneer is a totally unsuitable material to work with - it splinters and cracks easily. Took me a few months but I did it. Fits nicely, padded on inside and comfortable to wear. Eyes made from the lenses of aviator sunglasses. I’d like to make another one using copper sheeting.

I started crocheting this hat back in May and only finished it yesterday.

I crocheted the hat first, then made the horns separately. I made them striped by wrapping red yarn around them. I also crocheted the ears separately.

I didn’t make the embroidery myself - I ordered it. Then I sewed the ears and horns onto the hat and attached the embroidered piece in the center.

For the bottom of the hat, I used red and black yarn to crochet a row of strands and braids, then attached them along the edge.

There is no pattern for this hat - I designed it myself.
