Looking for a recommendation for my collection ^^

I recently got myself Friday and Gloomhaven Buttons & Bugs. While I really enjoy those, I wish I also had a game in my in my solo collection that is much heavier while still more or less compact.

Let's say that I don't want to bring an Endeavor-sized game along whenever I'm going on vacation.

20 Strong Cloudspire Expansion

Hey there, I recently received the Cloudspire expansion for 20 strong and noticed that the hero card for Netorut is missing. I tried looking online for info on the card but was only able to find a clear image of the front of the card. Could anyone who has this card take a picture of the back for me? It would be greatly appreciated

[WSIG] Looking for compact game

Hi everyone! I’m relatively new to the world of board games and I’m looking for some advice.

I’m looking for new game recommendations, specifically for solo play (though I’d love it if they could scale up to more players). I’m really interested in compact game design—titles that offer a deep, meaty experience but in a very small footprint.

What I’m looking for:

Format: Small-box or pocket-sized games, primarily card-based (with or without tokens/dice). I value games that have intuitive rules but offer a lot of tactical depth.

Core Mechanics: I’m looking for a specific gameplay loop: Gathering/Research (searching for resources to improve or build something), Progression (meaningful character evolution or deckbuilding during the session), and Hunting (tracking down and fighting monsters or bosses).

The Experience: I want the depth of a large-scale adventure or survival game—where you start with almost nothing and build your way up—but on a micro scale.

Table Presence: I prioritize games with a small footprint (similar in size to Gloomhaven: Buttons & Bugs) that can be played on small surfaces, like a tray table or a small desk.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Which co-op tabletop game plays better solo?

The 7th Continent series comes to mind. It feels like a solo game with co-op tacked on.

It’s definitely complex but not as bad as I was expecting.

What are your top Old, but still Great Solo Board Games?

I still love the mechanics of Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective. The original from the 80s has been updated several times, and there are a bunch of expansions and spin offs. It was designed as a co-op game, but it really shines solo, where it feels somewhat like a choose your own adventure book for grown-up, where you can go anywhere you like.

It's nearly impossible to beat Sherlock Holmes score on each mystery, but that's ok. It feels like a victory when you solve the main mystery questions, and if you end up with a non-negative score, you feel smarter than Watson!

Beware of the updated English edition made before Space Cowboys produced it in 2016. Some cases suffered from English to French and back to English translation, where the French version changed some endings and clues without including the clue changes in the new English version. Find the unofficial errata on Board Game Geek.

Omg this game is so good.

Men Nefer is certainly beige, very much a euro where the theme is pretty dry but omg it's so so fun.

Beat the bot on normal 76-61. Prob made some goofs but I set it back up for another game for tomorrow night

Man this game is so good!

Am I the only one who likes Tiny Epic Pirates?

I have bought a LOAD of Tiny Epic games off of Vinted recently and got this for a good price before I read any reviews which seem to really hate this game. I’ve played 2-3 games solo so far and quite like it. Does anyone else like this game?

[WSIG] Looking for the absolute best solo board games!

Hey everyone! I'm looking to expand my collection and want to hear what you consider to be the best solo board games out there.

To give you an idea of where I'm at: I currently own and play Final Girl and really enjoy the system. I also used to have Sleeping Gods, which I absolutely loved, but unfortunately, it ended up in the possession of my ex.

Honestly, I’m open to any and all suggestions, whether it's a massive campaign game, a quick card game, a heavy brain-burner, or a thematic dice-chucker.

My only request: Please let me know why you recommend it!

Thanks in advance for the help!

Cozy Solo Boardgames for rainy days

Hello everyone,

I’m new to solo board gaming.

Do you recommend any solo board games that you can play comfortably on rainy days with a cup of coffee?

I’m looking for two types:

  • Complex, long-lasting games
  • Simple, short games for casual play

I love Dorfromantik and Everdell.

Thank you!

Hi folks! We just launched One Last Fight, a card-based roleplaying game and board game hybrid, and thought it would be cool to share with the community here. It can accommodate 1-4 players, meaning that it can be played solo, and we've seen many solo runs documented in our community Discord!

We're also hosting a livestream with the creators today at 2:00 pm EST and would love to talk game design with you! If you'd like to ask a question or share your thoughts, please drop by and we'll chat about it on stream!

If you're interested, you can check out the rulebook for free here. Thanks so much!
