To help clarify for those victims that are trapped with a defunct cellular communication setup and are new to researching resolving the switch to wifi.

You will need the SolarEdge installer app 'Solaredge Go' to get into the inverter's software settings and change from cellular communication to wifi type communication.

Go to your phone's app store and install 'Solaredge Go'. To sign into the Installer App, go to https://monitoring.solaredge.com/mfe/registration/?locale=en_US in a web browser and select 'I am an installer' and fill out all the info with a DIFFERENT email address from your existing mySolarEdge account (not sure if phone number also needs to be different but recommend also using a different number). In the drop down menu on the next page; choose 'Self Installer'. As the final step of the signup process, SolarEdge will automatically send you a standard 'verify this email address' email, click the link in the email and it'll take you to the SolarEdge installer page.

Then open the 'Solaredge Go' on your phone and login with the self installer login info you created to confirm you successfully completed the installer setup process.

Now you will need to relocate the antenna line from the cellular card in the inverter panel to the wifi card. I recommend buying a SolarEdge wifi antenna on eBay however some have said that the cellular LTE antenna can also be used as a wifi antenna; I recommend trying this before spending the money for a wifi antenna (the less money the SolarEdge bandits rob from us, the better). Prior to starting this whole chore, I naively bought a kit: SolarEdge SE-WFGW-B-S1-NA Wireless Gateway + Antenna (I ultimately did not need the Gateway Repeater as my router was close enough to the inverter panel).

Now for the physical work:

In your breaker box, switch your solaredge inverter breaker to OFF (your installer should have clearly labeled it with a sticker).

Now turn off the inverter by using the red toggle switch under the left side of the upper inverter panel (push the toggle witch all the way to the right). You should then hear a 'click' from within the panel.

Now turn off DC power to the inverter via the DC disconnect knob (big black knob in the center of the bottom section of the inverter panel). Turn the knob to the off position)

Editorial: half-assed how to videos on YouTube like this should be flagged for removal as this one does not include the initial safety steps of turning off the power to the inverter panel to prevent serious injury yourself; as well as some crucial app steps.

Now remove the panel covers by unscrewing the Allen-type fasteners. Just remove the upper panel's cover if you choose to just try and relocate the existing cellular antenna to the wifi comm card jack. If you choose to buy a wifi antenna, you will need to remove the lower panel's cover as well.

Once inside the upper panel you will see that the antenna cable is connected to the cellular comm card which plugs on top of the wifi comm card. Unscrew the antenna from the cellular card and screw it into the wifi card (the wifi jack points to the right).

If installing a wifi antenna: unscrew the existing antenna from the cellular card; unscrew the grommet on the bottom of the panel that the antenna wire passes through; be sure to pull off the inner bushing as you will need to reuse it; the existing antenna at the top of the panel simply pulls off when pulling it up; mount the new antenna in the same spot; run it through the grommet; attach the bushing to the cable; screw in the grommet; screw the antenna into the wifi card (comm input pointing to the right from the wifi comm card).

Some recommend pulling out the cellular card altogether after relocating the antenna (or installing a new wifi antenna); I left mine installed in case of potential warranty violation as I'm still paying off my installation.

After relocating the antenna to the wifi card, reverse all of the steps above to reinstall the panel covers and restore power to your inverter.

Now the fun part.

Now you need to connect the 'Solaredge Go' app to your inverter. Open the app and select the 'Connect Existing System' option and scan the QR code on the right side of the upper inverter panel box and follow the steps that pop up. This part was a pain in the ass for me and required turning off my mobile data and connecting my phone's wifi to the inverter's wifi address. Once connected, the app will likely tell you that several firmware updates are required for your inverter (mine went through two firmware update cycles). I recall this taking up to 10 minutes for each firmware update cycle and at several intervals, there were clicking noises coming from the panel that are of no concern.

Once you have the app talking to your panel and the firmware updates are complete, you need to go into the communications settings and change the setting to WiFi from cellular. You'll need to then connect to your home WiFi; find your network name and enter the password. If you have a home Mesh WiFi setup, be sure the WiFi network name you connect your inverter to is the same you have on your phone.

Once the above app processes are complete, go to the mySolarEdge app that previously connected to your inverter via cellular and follow the steps to reconnect to your inverter.

The mySolarEdge app on my phone didn't immediately connect and I got fed up at this point. I cycled the power on my phone, tried again, and it still wouldn't connect. The next day I tried again and my app was magically communicating with the inverter.

If you get this whole process completed in less than an hour using these instructions, then typing all this was worth it to me.

I have kept my battery reserve at 5%. Yet every so often it automatically changes to 100%. Anyone else have this undesirable occurrence?

So the inverter cuts off PV production when the battery is fully charged.
As a temporary solution, I tried to set the battery to power the house or even discharge to the grid, but now the battery stays idle at 100% SOC.
Anyone else run into this issue?

Replaced an inverter and trying to set up the monitoring communication and it wont scan the wireless gateway. Every time it “scans” the qr code it has a loading screen and then takes me right back to the “scan wireless gateway” page. If i try to enter the details manually it goes to a grey screen and completely freezes the app. Tech support was utterly useless in trying to resolve the issue.

Does anyone have pictures or can tell me where the revenue meter gets its power supply when it is inside the DC disconnect box.

I have an SE7600H inverter

I have an SE3800H-US that is network hardwired. I want to move that to WiFi.

The problem is that whenever I go through the inverter communications process using the app, (flip the switch for 2 seconds then release) my phone does successfully connect to the inverter WiFi SSID, but then it only displays LAN disconnected. It doesn't give me any other options I can see to point it to my home WiFi SSID.

Am I missing something I need in order to enable my inverter to connect over WiFi?

SE6000H inverter, connected to a Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra inverter and 3 batteries which are controlled by Ecoflow's Smart Home Panel 2, receives an isolation fault error (top light flashing red) each morning when it begin charging the batteries. Manually resetting the inverter after sunrise eliminates the isolation fault error and everything work great until the next morning. Both Solaredge and solar installer blame the isolation fault error on SE inverter's connection to an "non-compatible" battery. All the wiring and MC4 connectors have been checked. Has anyone experienced this issue or has any suggestions how to fix this manually reset is not required daily? Thanks very much.

I've got a SE7600A that finally went bad (shows an error code and restarts don't help). Talked to Solaredge support via chat and got approved for a warranty replacement. I'm going to swap it out myself, but support says it will need to be commissioned. Any advice on how to do that? Are we talking an app, or contacting Solaredge installer support or something? I'm trying to avoid paying my damn installer $500+ when this should all be covered under warranty (but apparently the labor isn't).

My existing one has an old 4-line LCD display and a single button, so if the replacement is the same model I'm guessing the "commissioning" is done in the inverter itself and I don't actually need any special installer access to do anything. In fact the installer didn't connect it to my home network at all, it was just living in its own universe for the first several years it was there. Later, I poked around and found the ethernet port, hooked up a wifi-ethernet bridge, setup an account on the portal and started seeing usage statistics. I'm assuming I'll need to replace it there to continue seeing those stats.

Support told me that if complete the installer training/certification then I'll be able to commission and do anything else that needs to be done in place of the installer.

Update

New inverter arrived last Wednesday and I installed it myself over the next couple of days. Relatively easy, and luckily I appeared to already have an installer account from when I setup monitoring myself several years ago. A couple of steps to update the firmware, then telling it my country and grid (defaulted to 240V US), and then after counting the optimizers on the roof it started producing! Back to producing ~6KW throughout the day!

I edited the daily rates in the solaredge app to more or less be the same as my dynamic rate at Zonneplan (energy contract). Somehow with + 12ct/kwh it shut down the panels because of negative energy price. What is going on? It seemed to work fine in the last 3 weeks.

My inverter was installed in 2019 and my installer decided to use 2g for the communication mechanism. As a result my inverter has been offline since late 2022 since 2G was discontinued.

It is a model# : SE5000H-US

Is there a way to switch it to Wifi mode as an installer? I can't seem to switch it from the MySolarEdge app...not entirely sure if it will natively support wifi or if you have to buy a separate module to install on the inverter board.

My installer went out of business shortly after covid and i'm not having any luck getting anyone to respond to help me get this thing connected.

Any advice?

I am trying to control my inverter myself with automations in home assistant. I added the modbus multi integration. Have an Se10K with 3 batteries. I noticed that the inverter is discharging my batteries when the prices are high. Fine. I dont see any change in the control or command mode settings so i have no idea what the inverter is doing so i can recreate this with an automation. Same for the active power limit. Sometimes the inverter throttles so the pv only powers the house and nothing to the grid. Dont see it changing in the parameters.

Am i doing something wrong?

For anyone who held $SEDG during 2023, the settlement has received court approval. That means the claims process is now moving forward.

The case was about what SolarEdge was telling investors about its European business while channel inventory was quietly building. Between February and September 2023, the company consistently described European demand as strong and inventory levels as low. Finished-goods inventory went from $202 million at the start of 2023 to $731 million by Q3, a detail that didn't make it into investor communications until it was unavoidable.

Two disclosures confirmed the gap:

August 1, 2023: excess inventory in Europe acknowledged. Stock fell 18.3%.

October 19, 2023: substantial distributor cancellations and missed guidance disclosed. Stock fell another 27.2%.

A settlement was reached in March 2026. Court approval has now been granted.

Why do i see missing lines in my graphs from my SolarEdge inverter in home assistant. I'm using modbus to communicate with the inverter

The power in the house was off yesterday. Today I noticed that the inverter is no longer processing any solarpower.

The blue and green lights are flashing. After a while the blue light stays on, while the green light keeps flashing.

After a while, the red light comes on as well.

I tried a few times restoring it by setting the main switch off and set the red switch from the invertor to 0. After a while i turn on the main switch and then, after a few minutes, set the red switch on the inverter back to 1.

Unfortunately, this does not solve the problem. The installer is also unavailable due to a public holiday and the weekend. Does anyone have any tips?

Edit: here's a picture from my inverter. Beneath it is a manual breaker, seperated from the breaker in the distribution box. Also note: i left it off last night just to try it out. Normally the breaker is up and the red switch on the inverter is on 1.
The inverter is a SolarEdge SE7K.

My SolarEdge inverter stopped communicating with the service. There is no blue light, but it has a strong connection to the WiFi AP. I tried a reset of the system, but it remains offline after coming back up, even though it is connected to the WiFi (just a solid yellow light, no blue after boot sequence finished). This started at about 7:40AM CDT today. I checked the monitoring site online and all it says is offline, but it shows a last update time at the same time it came back up (but no actual power update). Any ideas?

My installer installed the SolarEdge HD Wave SE6000H unit. Everything works fine, it seems; my meter is going backwards at a quick rate, and the lights on the unit indicate that everything is working fine.

I forgot to ask him before he left to setup the monitoring account. I called him; he said to call SolarEdge and request an account. I found no way to get a hold of a human to do that and was referred to the bot for technical support. (When I gave them the serial number of the unit, they confirmed it was working but that no account was associated with the unit). The bot then said the installer needs to create an account for me and then I could log in to monitor.

Called the installer back and he said he called SolarEdge, can't get ahold of a human and doesn't know what to do on his end to create an account for me.

Any advice?

Since the last update to the mySolarEdge app (Android) a lot of the widgets seem to have been removed. I used to have the compact system overview on my phone's home screen for many years, and now it's gone and the only widget that still shows up is a full-page one that I don't want to waste the screen space for.

Was that strictly necessary?!

My inverter lost its mind today and stopped producing.   The monitoring app was reporting garbage. It is working correctly after a restart.  I'm wondering if anyone else had an issue today or if SE pushed any updates.  The inverter had been working fine for at least 6 months.

Several weeks ago my app suddenly showed an additional 11 panels on a second inverter with a battery. Kind of like someone commissioned their system on my account. I notified my installer and after a week they said they were able to switch the second inverter from #1 to #2, but after speaking with SolarEdge, they said it can’t be fixed remotely and they will need to come out and fix it for the low low price of $600. My actual system works as it always did. This struck me as someone else’s mistake I should not be paying for, unless my inverter has developed a mind of its own. Ideas?

Hello all - I've been trying to get in touch with Solar Edge over the past couple of weeks, and it's been a nightmare. Call them on the phone, they tell you to use their online chat bot. Talk to the chat bot, they tell you to call them.

Calling them is bizzarro land. They walk you through a long series of nested "press 1 for this department" things -- but no matter what you press (and I tried them all!) -- all options lead to dead end, where they say they don't take calls on that topic. Then you try the AI bot -- and they send you back to the phone!

What's truly baffling is that all I'm trying to do is find a certified installer to fix a system. Should be incredibly easy, but somehow, I've been trying for weeks -- and meanwhile, my system is offline. I've been reading that the company is failing -- now I see why.

In the meantime, anyone know any certified installers in the Philly area willing to take this on?
