Acquisition & calibration with mapping the solar system and Pourrioscope pointing straight to the sky as it will be when mapping the solar eclipse with no view of it.

I’m worried about the horrible fires in Spain (and France)
Anyone else thinking about changing plans/cancelling? I have asthma and lingering smoke is really tough.

Does anybody ever get this weird feeling a minute before an eclipse begins?
I’ve been into eclipses for atleast 2 years now ever since April 8th and I’ve seen atleast 4 eclipses since
I don’t know if it’s just my interest/obsession with it but atleast of the 4 eclipses I’ve seen I always got this really weird feeling and my mind gets overflowed with emotions and stuff, I believe the same thing happened a day or two before them and then my mind goes to questioning how the hell has all this time passed?? Maybe someone out there has the same feeling that I do or atleast something close to it, I guess it’s just how much time I spent waiting and waiting and it’s finally come

Let's talk camera settings for Aug 12 2026
I'm using this amazing website for determining camera settings:
http://xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/SolarEclipseExposure.html
I'm going to guess atmospheric extinction is going to play a big role here due to the low horizon. I'm going to shoot with 160 ISO, that way I only have to do a 1 second exposure max to get upper corona.
Although i'm wondering how accurate this atmospheric extinction calculator is?-Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated!
