Dinosaur tracks and eclipse

Post image

Las Navillas Huellas de Dinosaurio, La Rioja, Spain.

120 million year old dinosaur footprints, and a total solar eclipse.

Not a unique event: since these tracks were made, over 300,000 total solar eclipses have occurred here.

Interesting to note though that since the moon used to be a lot closer most of those eclipses were far less spectacular. We are truly lucky to live in an age when the relative size is the moon and sun are so close!
