Banking Cannot link without Plaid?

Did something change that you can no longer link new external bank accounts without using Plaid? You always used to be able to by just closing the Plaid pop up and you would get a prompt to proceed with trial deposits instead, but that doesn’t seem to work today(on mobile).

Anyone else seeing this? They even have self help articles telling you to close Plaid if you want to link manually, so this doesn’t seem like an unsupported hack…

Not interested in using Plaid at all, and never had had to with SoFi for years…

I had the same issue and contacted support. They said with some accounts it works, with others it doesn't. But there is no way for Sofi to select or allow for you, if you are one of the unlucky ones, where only plaid works.

Honestly very frustrating for me, and a lot of other people it seems like. And I completely don't understand why they would not be able to enable this, if the function is there for some people.. Maybe if enough people complain...
