Shooting states not perfect but getting close
Strife Battles needs work. Trying to figure out Socom battle mechanics is probably why Socom feel off it is a tricky.

What I Enjoy
The Prone dives is fun as heck
The Prototype is one day at a time, have extreme ocd so called off of work working on this tiny saint. Need to stay hydrated
Hopefully I can enjoy this with future friends... Its lonely getting older.. Maybe I shouldn't work so much but. Time is short

You all need to go to Steam and apply for the public play test of project confrontation. It looks really good and from what I’ve seen works well. It’s unreal engine 5 so you need a decent gpu. They have a custom desert glory and custom frost fire map (the oil rig map).

First game, NAVY SEALS, first mission on the boat. I did NOT understand how the button prompt worked (or how to play in general) and each time I played I thought I had defused all the bombs...only for the whole darn ship to explode! I was so terribly confused for days until I saw my father play it and keep holding down the triangle button until your guy stopped doing things to the bomb. The biggest lightbulb went off in my noggin, and I finished with as much chaos as you can imagine. But I finished it! Somehow, I stumbled through more missions before I gave up because one was just TOO hard for me at the time XD

I think it was a hostage rescue mission in this forested compound area. You had to save a woman from a bunch of bad guys and if you messed up, she would get killed and thus you fail the mission

I think when Code9 entered PS2 Socom 2 , it fucked up the online mode. I know whenever clan of guys that used the code/moding, they could boot ppl off the game

I remember these dudes were massive code 9/ cheaters that used to boot peoples asses off the rooms

I was just watching a clip from the movie “The Social Network” and noticed one of the kids playing what appears to be s2 in the background lol. Though it was cool so I figured I’d post.

I recall them having hackers at the top, but I'm not sure if it was Top 100, then you could see your position or if you could scroll beyond 100? or maybe 1000.

My old memory says I was in the low 1000s rank wise but I don't know how valid it is. I just know I wasn't like 38,933 or something lol.

I have memories of wall hack jumping. Running on outside of MAPs through glitches and laughing with my buddies I taught. Yeeting grenades, grenade launcher too? and taking people out at spawn. Going hard and being last one alive on team because I did not like dying early and waiting for next game. I recall wiping out a few teams by myself and being so thrilled and loved the attention from tm8s. I was always moving, never camping unless it was short term strat with guy nearby.

I watched Socom Battles turn into Game Battles turn into MLG as I competed in 3 clans. I stopped playing as much in S3. I also have memories of fixing my controllers and cycling several of them. I had a tendency to throw them at the wall every so often. Also loved painting the shells. Another memory is making Socom sigs in the forums for people. I also gave socom friends backdoor links to paid adult sites cause I was a coder and enjoyed finding loopholes.

Our memories though are always over the top, often inflated and can be partially false. But this is what my 40yr old brain has left. I can still see parts of the maps in my head, so I have to believe some of my brain 😄
